“Eric Bischoff – Sports Entertainment’s Most Controversial Figure” is WWE’s next 2016 Blu-ray planned for a special edition Steelbook, joining the Dudley Boyz and WrestleMania 32.

As of now it’s confirmed for release to the UK this June. So far only the “Straight Outta Dudleyville” Blu-ray is confirmed for the Steelbook treatment in the United States, likely a Best Buy exclusive.

Early word is the Eric Bischoff Steelbook may have alternate cover artwork.

We hear there are even more WWE Blu-ray Steelbooks coming this year. Stay tuned!

  1. me says:

Those are some good choices. Hopefully there are some Coliseum Video exclusives and 1998 TV matches as well. Alternate cover for Bischoff sounds cool, hopefully there are more going forward.

  2. LP1 says:

I must’ve misread the post about the Mania 32 steelbook. So that’s not going to be a US release afterall. Interesting.

    • Daniel Bee says:

Basically the Dudleyz Steelbook is the only one that’s showed up on US retail sites to date, whereas all of them have on UK ones. It remains to be seen.

  3. Paul Timmons says:

The Outsiders tag team match with Sid & Goldberg ends with a very crappy finish & so does Scott Hall vs. The Rock.

    • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

its nWo.. about 98% percent of matches involved the Black and White ended with a crapping finish. -lol-

  4. Bandit says:

WWE should have done a DVD or Blu-Ray/T-Shirt combo deal with the NXT DVD/Blu-Ray that was released this week. I assume they have alot of NXT Event T-Shirts they want to get rid of.

    • Bandit says:

Would be interested in getting the Wrestlemania 32 and Dudley Boyz Steelbooks if they were the same price as the Blu-Rays. Not worth it to me to spend $5 more just to get it in a steelbook case.

  5. Patrick R says:

Do you if Canada will be getting the steelbook or will it remian a UK and Best Buy USA exclusive?

    • David says:

Store exclusives for WWE DVDs/Blu-rays tend to be available retail wide in Canada but that was years ago…however stores these days hardly even carry WWE DVDs, let alone Blu-rays. Best Buy for example in my area has no wrestling DVDs left (i think Owen Hart was the only one they had) and they haven’t carried Blu-rays the last few years. I get mine from Amazon.ca and never had any issues receiving them, 99% of the time I get them delivered on release day – even got the NXT BD a week early from Amazon…i don’t even bother looking for them at stores anymore.

As for the steelbooks, i think they will be US exclusive and don’t think Canada will get them since there aren’t many stores left. HMV i read are starting to close some of their stores so its basically Walmart and Best Buy.

      • Justin says:

Sounds like the Best Buy about 30 min away from me. They used to have a wide variety of WWE/TNA DVDs but the last time I was in, the had a total of 2 or 3 releases & at the time the releases were new or fairly new.( Madison Square Garden & I believe a Best PPV Matches were the only DVDs they had) Sad thing is that a few months ago, Walmart had a $3.97 sale on WWE DVDs & there was a few I needed/wanted but of course my towns Walmart never had that sale but a Walmart an hour away did. Walmart always seems to either not carry a sale or start them way late. Put it this way, when my towns Walmart had their WrestleMania sale 2 years ago, it started a week before Mania & went until JUNE.

        • Jeff Copeland says:

best buy 10 years ago used to have shelfs of just wwe and tna dvds and i feel like since maybe 2010 2011 they slowly been reducing by so much and its sad really.

the walmart sales are nice and its a pain to find that walmart that has the sale i got 3 with in 20 miles and only sometimes the far one mostly has the sale.

also the timing of the wm sale are just random its either week before maina and they go a month or 2 or its a month after maina and it goes a month or 4

      • Jeff Copeland says:

walmart will get the dvds mostly bluray maybe if its wm or something but yah stores are just fadeing out with dvd bluray.

the best choice if you want to find wwe on bluray is FYE if you know what that is or have one they carry blurays and thats where i get 100% of mine

        • justin says:

The FYE store near me is hit or miss. They might get 1 or 2 copies of a new release & that’s usually it. Their used selection is the same way. My biggest FYE gain was 2 brand new WrestleMania 24 blu-rays for $6.99. I almost need to quit collecting. My DVD/blu-ray/VHS collection is constantly growing but my OCD won’t let me.

          • Jeff Copeland says:

LOL thats how i am its like you gotta wait month or 2 from each fye purches cause if you go every few days you might find something but 9 times out of 10 you won’t

hell i just bought unforgiven 04 for 3 bucks used cause my ocd at times for collecting xD 😀

  6. Jammer says:

The few matches I would love to see on this set are…

HBK vs. Razor from the Paul Bearer: Hits From The Crypt video
Diesel vs. Razor from SummerSlam 94
HBK vs. Razor from SummerSlam 95

Sadly, we will probably get Razor vs. Diesel from Superstars of Wrestling for the 4th time on a DVD release, and HBK vs. Razor from Wrestlemania X for the 400th time on a DVD release.

    • RCS1988 says:

I would rather see TV taping dark matches as CV matches are available. They should include the match with Razor & Jake vs. Tatanka & Goldust & Razor & Diesel vs. Michaels & Jarrett.

  7. Dave says:

We need the Ladder match from SummerSlam 1995 instead imo.

  8. some guy says:

They better include the WMX Ladder match or I am NOT BUYING

  9. Jeff Copeland says:

this set is not just good not just gonna be great its gonna be TOOOOO SWWWWWEEEEEET!!! xD

  10. John says:

Great match listing! This set is going to be great!
