Reasoning behind WWE Best of Raw Seasons 1 & 2 DVD Set

May 31, 2010 by Daniel Bee

According to a recent edition of WWE Magazine, which confirms an earlier report here, there were initial plans in place for the WWE to release every episode of Monday Night Raw from 1993 on DVD. Instead, the WWE is now going the route of a “best of” DVD set highlighting the first two “seasons” of Monday Night Raw – 1993 and 1994.

The decision was likely made due to a “best of” presentation being custom made to WWE’s liking in terms of the matches and superstars present, rather than including every segment of every episode as they were seen on TV. The upcoming DVD is being advertised as a 4 Disc DVD set featuring 9 hours of footage.

No word yet on if the Best of Raw Season DVD sets will continue after 1993-1994 to cover all other years, or whether this is a one time release only to commemorate the first years of Raw. We’ll keep you posted.

WWE – Best of Raw: Seasons 1 & 2 DVD is scheduled for an August 10, 2010 first release.
