September looks to be the North American release time for the new Undertaker and Kane DVD after all!
“Brothers of Destruction” hadn’t showed up on US based retail sites like Amazon or Best Buy, which led to speculation that it will be released later in October, but now a listing for it has surfaced on Amazon Canada with a release date of September 2nd.
One possible reason why it is only showing up at a Canadian source is that the DVD may end up as a store exclusive in the United States, but consider that unconfirmed as of now.
As mentioned, the planned release date to UK/Europe is September 1st (also with an exclusive Blu-ray version) and the release date to Australia is September 3rd.
Fans in UK/Europe can now pre-order “Ladies and Gentleman, My Name is Paul Heyman” on DVD and Blu-ray for August release, here at WWEDVD.co.uk.
Speaking of the UK, it looks like the Saturday Night’s Main Event DVD from 2008 and the Chris Jericho DVD from 2010 will be re-released there soon, according to the BBFC. Those two titles were originally released by the previous licensee in the region, Silver Vision.
The latest WWE Key Performance Indicators again give some possible insight into the best selling WWE DVDs that were recently released. This data (as of the end of May) is based off which titles had the most units shipped to stores over the past nine months prior.
As you can see below, it is led by WrestleMania XXX which shipped off 125,000 copies in just two weeks. The Goldberg, History of WWE and Triple H sets look to have kept up with consistent sales, with the Ultimate Warrior DVD seeing high performance too.
“The American Dream: The Dusty Rhodes Story” will be the next WWE DVD documentary streaming on the WWE Network. That’s being advertised to air from Saturday, July 12th.
We’ve added it to our new “WWE DVDs on WWE Network” page.
You can use new promo code “MITB” today here on WWEShop.com to save on your DVD/Blu-ray buys or other merchandise. Spend $25 or more for 15% off, $50 or more for 20% off, $75 or more for 25% off. The code will be around today only for the PPV weekend.
As mentioned, UK fans can also grab some MITB deals for a limited time. Until July 3rd the WWEDVD.co.uk site has “Straight to the Top” on sale from £13.99, last year’s Money in the Bank PPV DVD for £8.99 (Blu-ray £9.99), and the 2012/2011 PPVs just £5.99 each.

So WCW PPV matches didn’t sell well? That’s too bad. Oh well at least it has Volume 1 in the title meaning there will be more.
If it didn’t sell well enough, there will not be a Vol. 2.
Who said it didn’t sell well? The list above has nothing to do with how many were sold. That list just shows how many were shipped out to vendors and retailers. For example, WrestleMania 30 shipped out 125,000 units, but might have only sold half of that. Whereas Best WCW Matches could’ve had 65,000 units shipped and sold all of them. Retailers and vendors order DVDs based on what their expectations are for sales. Retailers will order more WrestleManias than, say, Music Of The WWE because they expect WrestleMania to sell more. Doesn’t mean that they will. There’s no way of knowing for sure which DVD’s are selling and which ones aren’t unless WWE opens up their books and give more specific sales details. I think the reason WWE only mentions how many units were shipped instead of how many were actually sold is because in most cases the shipped number is more impressive than sold number.
Important to note that sold to stores does not mean the same as actually sold. Not sure if others have had the same experience as me, but the DVD vendors local to me (Best Buy, FYE) have a TON of copies of WrestleMania 30 still sitting on the shelves. Way more than usual.
Sure, as I wrote the figures “give some possible insight into the best selling WWE DVDs”. Not definitive but best/only info we have to go off. Stores would also re-order based on how well the title is selling, you’d think. Mania will probably be a special case given its usual popularity.
Yep. That may very well be the case for the Brothers of Destruction DVD; we’ve often had DVDs on Amazon.ca that were Target or Best Buy exclusives in the US. It’s one of the rare instances where us Canucks get the goods before the US 🙂 I’ve already pre-ordered it from Amazon.ca and anyone from the US wanting a copy should do so as well; shipping to the US isn’t expensive and the current price of $16.99 will most likely drop to $13.99 or $12.99 as it always does as release dates comes closer.

I still don’t understand why this Brothers Of Destruction set isn’t being released on Blu-Ray in North America as well
