WrestlingDVDNews.com can now confirm that the new Ultimate Warrior WWE DVD will be released on Tuesday, April 1st, 2014. There is also a Blu-ray edition in the works.
As reported here on the site early last month, the DVD was added to the Home Video schedule without a name but listed as a “match compilation” with no official word on whether or not Warrior would be directly involved with the project.
There is a chance the man himself will be back with WWE for the purpose of this DVD release, as new information we’ve now received refers to “documentary style interviews with Ultimate Warrior”. However, it is stated that those new interviews are still pending confirmation.
It may be the case that WWE is still trying to secure Warrior for a Hall of Fame induction (also in April) to tie in with this release, or at least were doing so at the time the promotional material was made. In either case it looks like the DVD is definitely going ahead with or without him.
Also hinted at are new interviews with other wrestlers of the era, so should Warrior come on board for the project it looks like the DVD/Blu-ray set will be a match compilation with documentary style footage and interviews in between bouts. Since the first Ultimate Warrior DVD in 2005 painted him in a negative light, WWE will be looking to put a positive spin on Ultimate Warrior’s career this time around with the new compilation.
Here’s a reminder of the official synopsis revealed last month:
He is one of the most colourful and intense Superstars of all time, the Ultimate Warrior! Now for the first time ever, WWE honors his illustrious career with this ultimate collection of bone-crunching matches. Feel the power of the warrior – featuring battles against his biggest rivals such as Hulk Hogan, Jake Roberts, Ravishing Ric Rude, Sgt. Slaughter and more!
WWE fans have long awaited another Warrior DVD since the controversial release of 2005’s ‘Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior’. Finally, with over 7 hours of matches from this larger than life Superstar, this action on this home entertainment release is truly OUT OF CONTROL!!
“Signature Sounds: The Music of WWE” is now available here on Amazon.com to pre-order on DVD for March 18th release.
As we announced last month, this is a single-disc DVD and not coming to Blu-ray format. Early information suggests that 25 tracks will be looked at in the feature, also including new interviews with WWE composer Jim Johnston to give a back story on the music.
Music has been integral in WWE history, especially anthems for all the greatest WWE Superstars. Since Sgt. Slaughter first made his entrance to the Marine Corp hymn in the early 80?s music themes have become synonymous with the Superstars themselves. Just hearing the first few notes brings the crowd to their feet. They are the songs that let the WWE Universe know that business is about to pick up.
Now, get behind the music and learn the inside story behind the timeless anthems of WWE and the superstars.
Releasing this Monday here at WWEDVD.co.uk is Battleground 2013 on DVD and Blu-ray from £12.99. This will mark the first time the PPV event has been available on Blu-ray format.
There are 6 extras included on the UK’s Battleground DVD including the Kickoff Show match (Dolph Ziggler vs. Damien Sandow), plus another 5 Blu-ray exclusive extras on top!

There are rare WWF/WWE DVDs listed from $15 each like Triple H: That Damn Good and also up for grabs is the new RAW 20th Anniversary box set starting at just $30.
I really want to see Warrior vs Andre matches two different ones, where he slams andre and the Saturday nights main event match. I also would like to see when Warrior does push ups with Earthquake on his back

DVD Name?… The Founding Father Of Ring Intensity, The ULTIMATE WARRIOR
I forgot to mention that Ultimate Warrior battled
Undertaker, Papa Shango, Ted Dibiase, and more.
Ultimate Warrior also teamed up with
Undertaker, Rick Rude, and more.
I thought Warror left WWE before he was set to wrestle Jake, Yet there listing him… Was there a match between Warror and Jake Roberts on a house show or something. I did hear something awile back that Warror did wrestle Sid once in 92 before Sid left and Vader in 96 before warror left
If Warrior actually ends up being a part of this set I would be truly amazed. However, the fact that they are doing a set on him at all with a possible HOF induction is amazing enough. If Warrior chooses to and can be a part of this set, talking about the matches, this will only make the compilation that much better. My only issue with Warrior is that he made a living off of something he didn’t seem to enjoy that much and is a legend because of it. In other words, he seems to have had little to no interest in wrestling at all prior to and during his run.
If the interview with Warrior is “pending” as you say… then no way this comes out on April 1st. Also, the music dvd is an awesome idea. Too bad its only one disc, cause I’m sure the music making process and interviews would be a ton of fun and something very different.
Well it’s official info we’re looking at. Interviews/involvement with Warrior “pending”, release date of April 1st confirmed. We don’t make stuff up here. 🙂
I will bet you a lifetime supply of region-free blu-rays that this set does not come out on April 1st. Your “official info” must come from some company suit that’s not really in the know!
When’s it coming out then? That’s the date, bro.
I have no idea. But with studying communications and editing in school, and knowing how the post production process works, I’m 100% sure that if the interview isn’t done yet, then there’s no way it comes out that soon.
Wrestlemania XXX is on April 6th 2014… The ULTIMATE WARRIOR DVD release date is April 1st 2014… So if ULTIMATE WARRIOR is finally gonna be inducted into the WWE HALL OF FAME 2014, Then I believe ULTIMATE WARRIOR’s Wrestlemania involvement is not just appearing for his HALL OF FAME induction, But a ULTIMATE RETURN for one more run. It only makes sense, because his HALL OF FAME induction footage will not be on the DVD release since it will be before the Hall Of Fame. So his footage wouldn’t be on a DVD until after April 6th, which means a run untill Wrestlemania XXXI… Then a new DVD with the Hall Of Fame footage. I LOVE IT!…
The question is, Who all will ULTIMATE WARRIOR face, team up with and have a final match with?…
Don’t get too excited about a Ultimate Return. Edge & Mick Foley sets were released before the Wrestlemania weekends they were inducted into the Hall of Fame, the Hall of Fame goes on the Wrestlemania 30 DVD/Blu-Ray. I’m not saying there couldn’t be 1 more match, but I seriously doubt he will have One More Run,and that this is a sign of one. They have done this for the last 2 years.
Warrior will return to sell popcorn & programs at wrestlemania….can’t wait. I have my arm strings on already, not waiting’ ’til April!
I doubt Warrior returns to the ring, and if he does, there is zero chance he has a run lasting to WM 31. I doubt he would be happy to fit in the current WWE structure or mesh with Vince.
I will ignore the dummies who are negative. I will ALWAYS BELIEVE in Ultimate Warrior and One Warrior Nation.
I can’t wait till the ULTIMATE RETURN!
April 1, 2014. 24 years after he won the WWF Championship. Nice idea for the release date.
Wow, it will be 24 years. I feel real old now.
Don’t feel too bad. It took the warrior this long to find out what a headlock is.
This is a test comment.
Much like the Ultimate Warrior’s promo interviews.
I ULTIMATELY LOVE IT!
What a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014 is gonna be for me!
Ultimate Warrior finally in WWE 2K14, WWE ULTIMATE WARRIOR DVD, The ULTIMATE WWE HALL OF FAME 2014, A ULTIMATE WWE RETURN!….
It just gets ULTIMATELY better and better!
One Warrior Nation FOREVER!
NO APRIL FOOLS FOR THIS ULTIMATE ONE!
It does keep getting better!: I heard the ultimate warrior learned how to apply a headlock!
As long as the DVD includes matches against Kamala, Ric Flair, & Nailz, the DVD will be a hot seller.
I hope this collection includes the Warrior’s epic battles with Norman Smiley in WCW.
I hope it includes some promos as bonus features!
April 1st is the Tuesday before WrestleMania weekend. Very interesting timing indeed.
On Warrior? Seems that way to me too. If he actually sits for this, then pigs must be flying. Never say never though…
No, Roly. April Fools would be like the Ultimate Warrior learning the headlock. Or the Warrior returning the favor and putting another wrestler over.
