“Hey YO!” -Scott Hall

?

?

?

No Way Out (2002) was a wrestling (PPV) event produced by the Federation. (WWF). The event took place on Sunday, February 17th, 2002 in front of 15,291 fans at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

?

-The fourth annual No Way Out.

?

-The biggest storyline for No Way Out 2002 was when Mr. McMahon revealed that he would unleash the New World Order (nWo) upon the World Wrestling Federation in an attempt to “kill (his) creation”. Ever since he had become (kayfabe) equal ownership partners with Ric Flair in November 2001 (after Survivor Series), he had gone to great lengths to try to undermine Flair, which led to the angle. McMahon promised that he would not bring the nWo in if Flair agreed to sell his fifty per cent stake in the WWF back to McMahon. Flair refused to sell, leading McMahon to reveal several vignettes over the next several weeks with Hogan, Hall and Nash, the three original members of the nWo in WCW, appearing as McMahon’s hired guns.

?

-DDP (c) defeated The Big Bossman by DQ at 3:19 to retain the European Chapionship on Sunday Night Heat before the event.

?

-Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler did commentary.

?

?

?

?

Now onto the PPV…..

Segment 1-

?

The New World Order Arrives:

?

The nWo get a great pop, especially Hogan.

Hall, Nash and Hogan stand in the ring and cut a promo to begin No Way Out in style. Nash speaks first, then Hall, then Hogan who got the biggest ovation obviously.

?

?

They essentially say in so many words they are marks and here to help, and are not the bad guys which remained to be seen.

An interesting match here. Heel Goldust and a red-hot RVD.

King and Ross get into American Pie quotes some how during this match. Pretty funny. Goldust drives his knee into Van Dam. Goldust with big shots to the face of RVD. Goldust drives RVD down and then sends RVD to the buckle hard.

?

?

These guys had a series of PPV matches at Vengeance in December of 2001, then again at January 02s Rumble card, now here in February of 2002 at No Way Out. Regal stole the IC title with the power of the punch or so he said.

So now we get a unique stipulation match here.

The match is not started officially as both mens hatred gets the best of each other as they brawl outside the ring.

Back inside the ring it starts as both men hear the bell and brawl inside the ring now. Edge tried to climb the pole but Edge grabbed him.

Edge sends Regal to the turnbuckle, he turned around leaping off but still caught a dropkick by Edge. Edge sent Regal into the crowd and kicked away at him.

Edge climbs back in the ring and goes for the Knucks but instead hits a mid-air dropkick to William Regal and a nearfall, but Regal rakes the eyes.

William Regal turns Edge over and then another go-behind and a shot to the abdomen.

William Regal then stun-gunned Edge upside down on the ropes and stomped away on Edge taking out his feet which was smart considering what makes you the winner in this match.

?

?

Stone Cold Steve Austin looking for the title, I believe this was his last Championship match in his entire career.

?
Chris Jericho flips off Steve and he flips him off back.

Jericho backed out of the corner as Austin smiled. You can tell Steve was starting to lose his steam around this time but considering how bad his body went through hell in 2001 during that god-like run he was in pretty amazing condition.

Jericho hammered away on Austin until he flipped him over the top rope.

Jericho leaped over Stone Cold and ran into a reverse elbow. Austin chops Jericho in the corner. Austin relentless in the corner with chops, not stopping.

Stone Cold Steve Austin slamming Jericho head-first into the top turnbuckle and the fans WHAT after each one.

Jericho though gains an edge and drops an elbow to Austin and chops him now in return. Jericho looked for the Walls but Austin used his leg-strength to free himself.

Jericho chokes out Austin in the corner turnbuckle. Jericho misses a lionsault, and still applies a headlock. Now a running bulldog to an extent and catches Austin with the Lionsault, but not enough so he hits another one, textbook but Austin kicks out.

Jericho catches Austin going for the Lou Thesz Press off the ropes as Austin had his tank empty and Jericho puts Stone Cold Steve Austin in the Walls of Jericho.

King wants Austin to tap out.

Austin gets to the ropes, Jericho goes for a chair, Austin unloads desperation rights and lefts. Austin sends Jericho to the ropes and spinebuster slams him on the title belt.

1…2..a kickout by Jericho, right shoulder, inches off the canvas.
