WWE has Superstar themed WWE DVD/Blu-ray documentaries planned for release over the next three months – on The Ultimate Warrior, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and Daniel Bryan.
WrestlingDVDNews.com can now exclusively share more details on each of them, including their runtimes and in two cases how they compare with the WWE Network offerings!
The Ultimate Warrior documentary first aired as a 58 minute special on the WWE Network called “Warrior: The Ultimate Legend”. The extended documentary planned for the new DVD and Blu-ray will run for approximately 1 hour and 33 minutes.
As you know, the original piece looked at the Warrior’s historic wrestling career while documenting his return to WWE for the Hall of Fame and his tragic passing thereafter.
“Ultimate Warrior: Always Believe” will be released on DVD and Blu-ray to the United States on April 14th, to the UK and Europe on April 20th, and to Australia on April 29th.

The Jerry Lawler documentary is all-new for DVD and Blu-ray and won’t have been seen before the Home Video release this year. We can confirm that as of now that main feature will have a runtime of approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. There will also likely be extra, documentary-like stories and content featured on top as Blu-ray exclusives.
The documentary will of course cover all of Lawler’s storied career in wrestling so expect such topics as Memphis Wrestling, feuding with Andy Kaufman, later career as an announcer, Hall of Fame induction, the one and only WrestleMania match, and heart attack.
“Jerry Lawler: It’s Good To Be The King” will be released on DVD and Blu-ray to the UK and Europe on May 18th, to the United States on May 19th, and to Australia on June 3rd.

The Daniel Bryan documentary first aired as a 57 minute special on the WWE Network called “Journey to WrestleMania: Daniel Bryan”. The extended documentary planned for the new DVD and Blu-ray will run for approximately 1 hour and 6 minutes.
As you know, the original piece gave an overview of Bryan’s career while documenting his journey to WrestleMania 30 where he captured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
“Daniel Bryan: Just Say Yes! Yes! Yes!” will be released on DVD and Blu-ray to the United States on June 2nd, to Australia on June 3rd, and to the UK and Europe on June 15th.

The next new WWE DVD and Blu-ray on the way is “The Road Is Jericho”, which officially releases to fans in the United States this coming Tuesday!
WDN reader Mike Rouse sends word of finding the Blu-ray on sale early at FYE.
Orders for the Jericho DVD/Blu-ray in the UK have reportedly been shipping out early via WWEDVD.co.uk. Fans in Australia will get it from April 1st via WWEDVD.com.au.
Released the Tuesday after Jericho’s is the “YouShoot: Alberto El Patron” DVD, in which former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio sits down with Sean Oliver for a shoot interview made up of fan submitted questions…and some sort of tequila drinking challenge!

I have a question… What are the cut-offs for when someone gets a dvd and their still active? Like say Bryan’s match at WrestleMania 31 is awesome.. Will it have time to make his dvd?!
Good news as WWE will finally release NXT dvd where last week match between Cesaro vs Neville from NXT show in Columbis is listed as dvd taping!
Don’t get me wrong. I’m happy the Bryan and Warrior docs are extended and Lawler’s finally getting a set done on him. But the docs are all less than 2 hours. Lawler has had a very, very, very long career. So long that 1 hour and 25 minutes won’t be enough to cover everything and I feel whatever is covered, won’t be given the time it deserves. The only exception may be the Andy Kaufman portion. I hope that confrontation or whatever it was is shown in full as an extra. Still, i can’t wait to add these sets to my collection.
Agreed on the Lawler doc. It will be nigh on impossible to do justice to a 45-year career in just 85 minutes.
So many other great original documentaries they could make but instead we get lame releases of network documentaries. But hey they changed three frames and added 9 minutes! Can’t get excited for things we watched months ago.
Reminds me of the gag in The Big Bang Theory, where they go to the Indiana Jones screening for an extra 21 seconds of never-before-seen footage.
they are longer
I’m shocked at how short the Jerry Lawler set is. 85 minutes seems a little short for his career.
Viva Del Rio!
I can see his match with Roman from FastLane being on this set, as well as his match against Seth Rollins from February 2, 2015 being on there… Also his Extreme Rules match with Kane SHOULD be on here. Since it was his first title defense.
So Bryan’s doc only gets SIX extra minutes? That’s beyond lame.
What is the incentive for buying this if we’re only gonna get a lousy 6 more minutes than what we can see on the Network special? Plus we can see most of the matches on this DVD on the Network anyway! To see the Warrior doc extended by almost 30 minutes is pretty great, but 6 minutes?
Another example of WWE giving Bryan the shaft.
Six minutes added to the documentary, but didn’t they say there’s new interviews between all the matches on the other discs? Those probably aren’t included in that number
Actually, the Daniel Bryan documentary on the DVD and Blu-Ray releases will be nine minutes longer than the WWE Network version.
Another silly shoot from KC where weird things fly all over the screen and the questions and answers lack seriousness. So, WWE is racist with the stuff they asked Rodriguez and Del Rio to do, but having tequila fly all over the screen is no problem? Nothing will top Bret’s 1992 Timeline shoot. Watch it!
Do you know if matches will be on the first disc with the documentary on the Daniel Bryan DVD? I know sometimes they don’t have any matches on the disc with it. And personally that’s a waste if you ask me. They can fit more stuff on there. When should the match listing/Bluray extras and cover be released?
There likely won’t be a TON of matches on this set, as hopefully we will see a more extensive DB set down the road – that WOULD include full ROH matches, but my guess is this will be a single bluray and a double DVD set.
My initial guess to the match listings:
Vs Chris Jericho (NXT 2010)
vs The Miz (NoC 2010)
vs Dolph Ziggler (Bragging Rights 2010)
MITB Ladder Match 2011
vs Big Show (TLC 2010 – cash In)
vs Big Show, Mark Henry (Cage Match – RR 2012)
vs CM Punk (RAW Feb 2012)
vs Sheamus (WM 28)
vs Sheamus (Extreme Rules 2012)
vs Punk (Over the Limit 2012)
vs Kane (Summerslam 2012)
Team Hell No & Ryback vs The Shield ( TLC 2012)
Team Hell No vs Ziggler & Big E (WM 29)
Team Hell No vs The Shield (Extreme Rules 2013)
Team Hell No & Randy Orton vs The Shield (Smackdown June 2013)
vs Randy Orton (RAW Street Fight – June 2013)
vs Cesaro, Jack Swagger, Ryback (RAW – July 2013)
vs John Cena (Summerslam 2013)
vs Randy Orton (Night of Champions 2013)
Bryan & CM Punk vs The Wyatt Family (Survivor Series 2013)
vs Bray Wyatt (Royal Rumble 2014)
vs Triple H (WM 30)
vs Batista & Randy Orton (WM 30)
“Daniel Bryan: Just Say Yes! Yes! Yes!” will indeed be a Three Disc DVD / Two Disc Blu-Ray set.
