According to BBFC, the total runtime for WWE: The Best of WCW Clash of the Champions is approx. 6 hours and 33 minutes.
The Blu-ray exclusive content on there totals 51 minutes, bringing that version up to approx. 7 hours and 24 minutes. You view the full content over here. Released May 22nd.
WWE Best PPV Matches 2011 on DVD and Blu-ray is now available nationwide in the United Kingdom. The Best of RAW & Smackdown 2011 DVD/BD hits all stores in the UK on 16th April. Both are already in stock and shipping now at Silvervision.co.uk!
Courtesy of WrestlingSuperStore, here’s an early look at the Blu-ray edition of You Think You Know Me? The Story of Edge. This one is released next Tuesday in the US, though we wouldn’t be surprised to see some stores carrying it this week.
The Edge 3-Disc DVD and 2-Disc BD has already been released by some outlets in Australia, whilst UK/Europe get it later this month (when buying here).
The new WWE The Rock: Great Ones DVD exclusive at Toys R Us is NOT also available on Blu-ray at Best Buy. Don’t be fooled by what you hear!
I found the Edge DVD and Blu-ray sets today at a Best Buy that never seems to care about street dates.
Blasphemy!
The following is a new tweet from the official Twitter page of WWE Hall Of Fame announcer Jim Ross:
“Sad to hear of the passing this morning of WWE HOF’er Chief Jay Strongbow, a beloved member of WWE family. RIP Chief.”

While I certainly agree that I wish the DVD’s were back to their full 9 hour length as they used to be, the DVD’s have also gotten cheaper since this change occurred. At least where I buy DVD’s (usually Best Buy and occasionally Amazon), all the 3-disc sets are now $19.99 while they used to be $24.99. Take the good with the best, I guess.
*Take the good with the bad, I guess.
I agree with you Joe and I actually never thought of that point.
That’s a good point, Joe. It also ties in with a lot of their other businesses, whether it’s PPV, house shows, other merch, etc. They’ve been lowering (or trying to lower) their break-even point for a while, for many reasons.
Does anybody know if the Edge blu ray will be on sale like the rock one was please and if so where .
Unlikely to be a deal as good as Amazon’s one for Rock Epic Journey.
I agree with ALL of the comments below me. No excuse for this! Yes, I agree, it’s better than nothing and we will always find flaws. But come on WWE, you’re about 2 hours short.
wwe really are annoying me with their run times, only 6hrs, there used to be 2 disc sets with more than that. 3 discs should be at least 8 hours like most of them used to be.
Some of the earlier 3 disc sets were over 9 hours long. Blu ray or not that extra couple of hours of digital information can’t be so difficult for them to put together that its better to just not bother. The only decent excuse I can think of is that Vince McMahon’s wife’s sister’s puppy fell into the strawberry patch on the day of production and they had to leave it half finished. Perhaps they will replace the inserts with a doctor’s not explaining why the rest of the DVD couldn’t be there.
I’m very surprised that the run time is that short for this release. I think it should have been at least 7 hours max (you could squeeze in a few more matches with that) but I will still be picking it up as there as some great matches I want to see on this set. It is a shame Terry Funk vs. Ricky Steamboat from COTC VII isn’t on this set or Shane Douglas and Ricky Steamboat vs. Hollywood Blondes as they would have been great additions. Nevertheless this set is better than nothing.
By today’s standards I feel that is far too short. But in those instances I try to remember that its still a luxury item compared to a stack of old tapes. I guess they could easily have just put out a 2 dvd set, but then we’d say it should have been 3. In an ideal world I would like them to load up the discs as much as possible, but it must make the DVDs too heavy for them or something.
The Clash DVD is still an hour or two short for being a Blu-Ray and what a Blu-Ray can hold. Hopefully the rest of the comment team believes that’s a worthy complaint like sidebars, content and cover art.
I knew it was going to run this short too which is a joke. WWE makes great releases like this and then the matches dont add up to how short the DVD comes out to be. I added up all the match times and got about 6 hours without the extras. The approximate grand total of all clashes that ever happend is about 100 hours, youre telling me we couldnt get less than 10% of that with a decent 9 hour 3 disc???
