Exclusive: STING Involved with Upcoming WWE DVD & Blu-Ray Release – Details

Sting Entrance at WWE WrestleMania 31

We can exclusively reveal that Sting is involved with an upcoming WWE DVD release!

Interview footage with Sting will feature in “The Monday Night War Volume 1: Shots Fired”.

WrestlingDVDNews.com has learned that there will be about 1 hour of Home Video exclusive material included with Sting, Triple H, and Renee Young as they comment on each episode of “The Monday Night War”, the popular series first seen on the WWE Network.

WWE is putting this one out as a larger set than most of their usual releases – 4 discs on DVD and 3 discs on Blu-ray. That’s to accommodate 10 episodes of the series, a collection of matches and moments to compliment those episodes, and the new interview footage.

“The Monday Night War Volume 1: Shots Fired” will hit stores this July. You can pre-order a DVD or Blu-ray copy in time for then by clicking here. Volume 2 is expected later this year.

  1. THOMAS says:

Where is the artwork for WWE Fast Lane 2015 dvd as in the actual dvd inside the case itself?

  2. Anan says:

I enjoy listening to Renee. She comes off very honest and as if she is a WWE fan and is serious about whatever job she has been given by WWE to do. She seems very into it and energetic when doing interviews, the panel, the HOF Red Carpet, etc. I can’t wait to see her work with HHH and Sting on the Monday Night War set which I already preordered before reading this news.

  3. Mark D says:

Am I missing something, it’s not Renee Young sits down for an hour to discuss the Monday Night War. Renee will likely host the feature with Sting and Triple H. IMO Renee is an awesome host and a fan – that comes across clearly and is important. #ReneeYoungGuy

    • attitude.era.4life says:

Better get the Kiss cam angle back, now starring Mark and Renee.. -lol-

    • Daniel Bee says:

No confirmation how they’ve done it yet, but it’d be best if it’s like you say – WWE vs. WCW – HHH/Sting interviewed by Renee.

  4. R&REXPRESS#1 says:

WTF? Who is Renee Young to comment on the Monday Night Wars?? This chick was probably born during that time & sure doesn’t have a clue… If anyone can explain this legitimately… Please feel free.

    • LP1 says:

I’d be glad to explain. She’s the one interviewing Sting and Triple H. Asking the questions that were written for her. Nothing more, nothing less. Whether it was her or Lawler or Cole or JBL or any other announcer, the questions would still be the same.

As far as Renee goes. I believe she’s around 30 years old. She grew up a huge WWF fan and is very knowledgable of the history of the business, which is a lot more than I can say for the majority of generic announcers that have gone through the revolving announcer doors of WWE.

    • Foley is Good says:

Renee has as much “legitamicy” commenting as Brodus Clay, Ryback, or any of todays stars who only saw it as a fan growing up just like Renee. In Canada she was a sports reporter and co-hosted Aftermath an after RAW wrestling show. Her co-host Arda Ocal is also now working for WWE. She admitted to her crush on Goldust during the show and I think she talked about the experience of being at Wrestlemania 18 as a fan. Renee always IMO comes across as a very likable and knowledgeable person and class act. Just because she is female doesn’t mean she is some noob and I like her a hell of a lot better than Matt Striker.

  5. Gary says:

Hey Sting, You in the same picture as the beautiful, sexy and gorgeous Renee Young! I’m jealous.

  6. SRB says:

I know that many have said that they find the Monday Night Wars set to be somewhat unnecessary as it is so large and we’ve heard these stories before. I pretty much disagree entirely. I found the Wars to be extremely exciting as a form of competition, which does not exist today. I’d give anything to get those years back. WCW and WWE pulled out their best material and matches during this time of do or die. The Wars, the final result, and the memory of WCW have always interested me. I do not remember a more exciting time in wrestling.

I watched the 20 episodes on the Network, and yes while some went on for what felt like for too long, I personally do not feel we can ever get “enough” conversation or documentation about what happened. It has always been a subject of great interest to me, and I am very glad that this set is happening. I think WWE has dedicated so much time and energy to this set because they feel they overcame and almost unbeatable battle. I am looking very forward to it.

    • attitude.era.4life says:

I can only agree with you there.. and it was a welcome pleasent surprise when I first learned that wwe would appearently put out this on bluray, since it is one of the few features that I find interesting on the Network.

I also see the Monday Night Wars as the most important and above all exciting periods of wrestling entertainment..and had’nt there been the Wars, there would’nt be the Ruthless Agression era: up to 2008, my other favorite period.

I own in my library the complete Silvervision releases, which spread around several releases “tells” the Monday Night Wars, mainly of course from the WWF/E point of view..

With this mammoth 2-sets release, I hope to get a complete, coherent overview on the most important era of wrestling. And yes, it problaly still will be one-sided…but, I really don’t care to be honest..

I always felt that WWF has had the better all around product. Really exciting for this one, and especially what special features and matches and segments they put on. 🙂

  7. attitude.era.4life says:

Should be interesting how the commentaries from HHH and the Stinger plays out on the episodes… I really don’t care for the Young Renee’s “involment” in this (or for that matter any other past, present and future releases).. If really the need for a third partie, then someone like Lawler, who actually were there, would be more fit.. J.R. would be my favorite, but for obvious reasons, that could not be done.

    • Foley is Good says:

I like Renee but even though I disagree with you I see your point. As for JR have hope, Jim Ross just announced he was working with 2K games on WWE 2K16. I know 2K can hire who they want but maybe this will lead Jim Ross back to WWE in some capacity.
