  1. Fan who cares says:

The most annoying thing about this is that King Of The Ring is released on blu-ray when most of those matches (excluding the few from 2008 & 2010) were not even recorded in HD and they are in the 4:3 ratio. I just don’t understand the logic in thinking that KOTR will sell on blu-ray but Survivor Series 2011 wont.

  2. WWEBluFan says:

bosshoglarry- it doesn’t really work that way. While you are correct that an upconverted DVD will look better than a regular DVD, it’s still nowhere near blu-ray quality (and certainly not HD). Blu-ray is just a vastly superior format. While you can try a few tricks to pretty up the DVD picture, it doesn’t change the fact that a DVD simply can’t hold the amount of info that a blu can. Obviously YMMV though, depending on the quality/size of your home theater set-up. On a small or older TV, viewed from sufficient distance, a few people might not even be able to tell the difference.

This actually might be the release that FINALLY gets me to buy a region free player. I want those exclusives and I want the event in HD! It would be nice if the disc was region-free, but probably not going to happen.

  3. Jamie says:

People that complain about Cena no matter wat WWE does need to let it goo he’s the face of their company so What the Fuck do you expect

  4. Vincenzzzzzo says:

I never knew Over the Limit was on Blu ray until I seen it in a store last week. I was going to buy it, didn’t have enough money though. I too would like to see more PPV on blu ray. I just bought my damn blu ray player a few weeks ago.

  5. bosshoglarry87 says:

Most blu ray players will upconvert the content on a regular dvd to high definition. Sure it would be nice to gave the extras that are on blu rays…but the events are the same quality as on a blu ray disc.

  6. TripleN says:

Too bad WWE didn’t give the fans a choice to have a Cena cover and a Rock cover.. I hate having dvds with Cena on the cover (and no I do not buy Cena dvds as they are wastes of disk space)

  7. CMPunkFAN#1 says:

DAMN I was hoping to see CM Punk’s tittle victory on BLU-RAY here in the US ๐Ÿ™

  8. Dave says:

Just shows that ppv blu-rays (besides Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania) haven’t been selling well in North America.

But it sucks that they had to base it on Over the Limit 2011, which wasn’t that great of a ppv which ceased all ppvs from there on out.

At least we will be getting some matches not released on Blu-ray in Best PPV matches 2011. Definitely picking that up.

  9. SRB says:

Good one DB… And glad to see Giant Gonzalez on the cover again.

  10. Daniel Bee says:

Isn’t it obvious why the Blu-ray’s have stopped? Owen Hart.

    Sorry, had to. ๐Ÿ˜‰

To be serious, a Royal Rumble Blu-ray is on the US schedule.

  11. Tyler says:

Why has WWE stopped releasing the Blu rays in Canada/US?!?!?!?! ARGH I WANT MY BLU RAY PPVS BACK. I bought a blu ray player just for WWE Blu Rays and they cant even release the PPVs in Blu Ray anymore….grrr.
