WWEDVDNews has exclusively learned that the documentary feature on WWE’s The True Story of WrestleMania DVD & Blu-ray release will be 2-hours in length.
The remainder of the set will be made up of “definitive matches from the history of WrestleMania”. No info on those yet but the documentary runtime is confirmed through WWE themselves.
Yesterday we revealed the DVD cover for the set. Below is the same for the Blu-ray edition and both hit stores on March 15th.

Switching gears to the planned WCW Nitro themed DVD release, DDP said earlier today on Twitter that he’s finished filming footage with WWE for it.
“Best of Nitro” is currently planned for release on May 24th and DDP will be the host.
Really excited for this DVD.
The Mania of WrestleMania would make for an excellent extra.
this dvd should be interesting.
I feel after more than 25 years of history that the documentary could be MUCH longer than 2 hours. I am sure Vince and the crew aren’t going mania by mania and describing each one, the story is more about WM as a whole rather than each event. But, with the history there, I saw show me how it started and how it gets planned and where it is today and how the vision has changed over time. To pack over 25 years into 2 hours seems like a rush to me.
It could be longer, but I wouldn’t say 2 hrs. is a “short” documentary. Im very excited about this set!
I am happy that this is Finally out!
I would be happier if it provided no less than One Hour Per Decade- And, optimally, a Full Hour describing the whole rat race gamble and cluster#uck that surrounded the Firt Two or Three ‘Manias.
I actually would Love to see the History Channel do a ‘Modern Marvels’ episode all about ‘Traveling Entertainment Shows’ like WWE and TNA.
I think that the “hardware” aspect of the Travel and Set-up and Construction and Coordination of it all, plus the Tear-down and Shipping would be Very Very interesting…and I think that a quality documentary show would take longer than 59 minutes.
A 2 hr documentary and all the matches I already own, no thanks I’ll catch it on the Classics on Demand channel sometime.
Two hours is too short, in my opinion. That works out at 4.5 minutes per Wrestlemania, which is hardly great. And that doesn’t take into account the opening and closing segments, so it’ll be more like four minutes. Disappointing.
Well 2 hours was what I was expecting. I can’t wait to see the list of matches, even if I have the entire Anthology since 2006. I think the documentary could have been a little longer, but at least they didn’t did what they did with Starrcade ( 50 minutes ) and recently Bobby Heenan ( 45 minutes ).
Yes!! It’s not short!
