These are the only match picks we have at this time – sign up below to get an email notification as and when we can release more of the DVD and Blu-ray content.
After his widely praised contributions to Volume 1 of the series, Diamond Dallas Page (Twitter: @RealDDP) will be returning as host, who already began filming new segments with WWE last month! The Best of WCW Monday Nitro Vol. 2 will release on February 12, 2013, and you can pre-order your copy on DVD or Blu-ray format now by clicking here.
Can you add the Hulk Hogan vs Sting where he was the dark Hulk on it.Great match.
I am a long time fan of WCW so I’ll more than likely buy both DVDs.Great times.
Hope this is good, enjoyed the first one,if anyone hasn’t seen the new NWO dvd then i hoighly recomend it for ppv and nitro matches from that era
I would love to see the moment where Tony Schiavone gives away the Mick Foley championship match result and-wait a minute. Wasn’t a good moment for Nitro as it was for Raw. Never mind.
I would like to see on the Nitro 2 set, Kevin Nash vs Rey Mysterio where Nash and Hall beat Rey and K-dawg at Superbrawl and the nitro after Nash had Rey’s mask and mocking him and Rey beat Nash a total shock to me but what a nice guy of Nash to put Rey over like that.
I’d love to see Outsiders vs Steiner Bros, Raven vs Goldberg, Goldberg vs Wolfpac Sting, Nash vs Mysterio,
Goldberg Rick Steiner vs Scott Steiner Buff Bagwell, Scott Steiner vs Booker T Final Nitro!
I found the first set kind of bland. And i don’t see how that will change with the next release. Crappy matches with bad finishes. Please WWE release a best WCW PPVs or something.
Better yet: Complete PPV Blu-Ray exclusive anthology sets. Think about it, Halloween Havoc on 6 Blu-Rays retailing for $89. I know I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
There needs to be a Best of Slamboree too on like 4 DVDs sold at $50.00.I’d buy it and others would more than likely buy it too.
I agree with you about the Halloween Havoc set.Get Sting to be the one speaking about it though. He’d fit the role.
I get why they don’t want footage of Rey without his mask out there. But it’s a real shame because that’s the time when he was starting to be a bigger player in WCW. I loved the Filthy Animals and I’d love to see some of their skits and matches. To me two big moments where missing from the last Nitro set “..the only thing that’s for sure about Sting…” promo and Rey pinning Nash in 99.
Daniel Bee check your email when you get a chance. Sent some new ones.
Great listing so far. Sting/Flair were always classics and anything with The Outsiders is automatic gold. Nice stuff here. I hope Alex Wright/Disco Inferno make the final cut. All of that hip moving has got me in a frenzy

According to that link, this set will have more cruiserweight content. While that in theory is a good thing, I’m worried that this set will mostly be “nWo and cruiserweights”, thus giving fans who weren’t around for this era the erroneous impression that that was all this era had to offer. WCW had a very solid mid-card, such as guys like Inferno and Wright (who were sometimes cruiserweights but not always), and it would be a shame if the midcard isn’t focused on in this set. Hopefully it is since we have a blu-ray set this time around meaning more content, thus more space for the midcard. Other guys I’d like to see that don’t fit in the “nWo and cruiserweights” idea are: Raven, Saturn, Kanyon, Glacier, Wrath, Bagwell, Hugh Morrus, Booker T, Arn Anderson, Public Enemy, Norton, Meng, Regal, The Cat, Rick Martel, Norman Smiley, Lance Storm, Jeff Jarrett, Fit Finlay, Bam Bam Bigelow, etc. Lots of ground to cover, obviously.
One more thing. I prefer DDP over Goldberg because DDP was around for the whole era, was a lot more passionate about what he was doing, and was a better talker. I’m worried that this means the Goldberg set won’t be happening or will be delayed. I have had a gut feeling for a while now that this would happen.
I have a gut feeling Goldberg was never asked. Lol. :p
Daniel can you confirm this rumor of more cruiserweight content? Will we see Rey Mysterio unmasked or is WWE avoiding that period of Mysterios career?
I can confirm Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports there will be more of a focus on the cruiserweights, which is where all the news sites got the rumor from. As for Rey unmasked, no idea yet as I’ve only seen the above two matches confirmed. I would imagine WWE will continue to stray away from that but you never know.
A while back you said this set will focus on 1997-1998, is that still the case? Or is this a change in plans?
This was according to a report at WrestlingINC. May have been too early to say, but not sure. Won’t know ’til the full match listing is out.
You little HBK. Love that new picture of you DB. LOL
Try not to love it too much. 😉
All the commenting you do and still no avatar!
They are off to a good start..I like it!
DDP I could have done without.
It’s great news that Flair vs. Sting makes this DVD. However, I really wish it would have been both their April 1999 and July 1999 matches instead. Those 2 1999 matches were both outstanding matches. This, on the other hand, is most notable due to Luger’s surprise appearance. Nevertheless, at least we’re getting one good match released (Flair/Sting) and another star-studded tag match.
Local FYE store in NC has this listed with a January 2nd release date. Any truth to this? I asked the guys who work there and they said that is when they are scheduled to receive it.
Probably, as you say, that is the date they receive the stock rather than the time they begin selling them. I think you answered your own question. 🙂
True. I worded that wrong. This DVD was actually listed as being released on jan 2nd. As in, available to purchase
Wait a minute…they get the stock over a month in advance? Why not just sell it as soon as its ready?
That’s what I was saying. On their upcoming releases list they keep at the checkout, this DVD is listed for release on jan 2nd. I asked the guy if this was correct because of the release date I had already seen and he said yes, they will have it available then. I just worded things wrong, my apologies
It’s probably an error, judging by the official February release date listed everywhere. Just go back and try to nab one in January. 🙂
It’s interesting how this and the first volume of Best Of Nitro had a few matches released at a time but with everything else all the matches are released at once. Any reason for this?
Just coincidence. Last year I recall Silver Vision were doing teasers for Nitro, releasing a few matches on Facebook/Twitter before the whole shebang. They did that for a number of WWE DVDs though.
Daniel, what is the ETA on the end of year survey?
The end of the year (if I had to guess) :p
Ha, thanks for the info Mark!
