For almost a year we’ve all heard the rumblings of a “Phenomenal” new WWE DVD expected for 2018 — the first ever on AJ Styles.
WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has learned that the company now has the AJ DVD officially scheduled!
The latest update we had on this project hinted at the main feature being a documentary portion, however we have word that the format of this one will more than likely instead be a match compilation of AJ’s greatest bouts since his WWE debut in 2016. With at least one documentary on AJ Styles due to hit the WWE Network soon, the move differentiates the DVD collection from those.
Documentary or not, you can bet it will feature brand new interview footage with the WWE Champion.
A TNA reference on WWE programming, now TNA footage on a WWE DVD!?
In another first-time-ever, content from the Impact Wrestling promotion is set to appear in a WWE-released DVD, and it’s one on the 2018 schedule: “Twist of Fate: The Best of the Hardy Boyz”.
The match listing of the new Hardy Boyz DVD has of course already been finalized as you’ve seen it, so the aforementioned footage likely appears as flashback-style pieces in the new segments dotted between the matches on the set, one of which is named “The Broken Universe”.
WWE’s new “Twist of Fate: The Best of the Hardy Boyz” DVD will be available first in the UK on April 30th and follows to the United States in May; a big month for WWE DVDs with WrestleMania 34 and “Randy Savage Unreleased” also both due to hit stores.
An announcement was made today by WWE Home Video UK which reads as follows:
**BEST OF THE HARDY BOYZ BREAKING ANNOUNCEMENT!!**
WWE Home Video UK can exclusively reveal that WWE has worked with Impact Wrestling on Twist of Fate: Best of the Hardy Boyz.
For the first time ever, a WWE DVD release will feature footage from Impact Wrestling events, as part of The Best of the Hardy Boyz’ candid look at the “Broken Universe”!
Twist of Fate: Best of the Hardy Boyz is out on DVD 30th April – don’t miss this groundbreaking title!

Beginning with the “RAW 25th Anniversary” DVD, Canadian fans have noticed that their Amazon site has not been offering any new WWE DVDs, and they’ve been in touch with us to ask why.
We would urge you to check other retail sites or even local stores for any new WWE DVDs to confirm they haven’t been released to those outlets. As you may have followed here recently, the US Amazon had an issue listing new titles for a number of weeks so a similar situation may be occurring.
That’s not the only possible cause for the delay – in the past we’ve also seen new releases halted in this manner in times of a changeover of WWE DVD distributor in a given region.
Hang tight, there should be an update soon.
With all the buzz surrounding the upcoming “Greatest Royal Rumble” special event to be held in Saudi Arabia later this month we’ve also been asked a lot about whether or not this show will end up on DVD, since it hasn’t appeared on any 2018 schedule drafts up to this point.
WrestlingDVDNetwork.com can now see that it is planned to make it to Home Video! This could be a UK exclusive but it may make it to other regions too. We’ll update you as soon as we can.
The event will broadcast on the WWE Network and traditional pay-per-view in some territories, and with WWE stacking the card (50-man Royal Rumble Match, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, John Cena vs. Triple H, and now a Casket Match featuring The Undertaker), a DVD sounds plausible.

Greatest royal rumble any news? especially documentary behind the scenes footage would be awesome
If the wwe greatest royal rumble ppv is out on home video, i will buy it to add to my wwe ppv dvds collection.
Could it be that WWE is buying or did buy TNA?
TNA now comes up in interviews and now footage on DVD now?
News breaking that Jericho is replacing Rusev in the Casket Match, thank God.
why is wwe overselling the royal rumble gimmick? they just did it in January and then had two battle royals matches at WrestleMania.
Amazon.ca was my place to purchase all my WWE Blu-Ray and DVD… I hope they put the newest ones soon on the site.
Don’t miss RAW and Smackdown Live on April 30th and May 1st LIVE from the Bell Centre in Montreal. I will be there!
Awesome. Who are you going against? 😉
I really hope that we get a bluray version.
my advice is for everyone who is eager for that to write emails saying so.
I mean, the “big 4” literally seem only to have gotten a release in the UK because of the vocal consumers.
(and of course making this a “put up or shut situation”, meaning that I assume many people purchased the releases when they came out instead of waiting for significantly price drops)
What’s the storyline reason for this ‘Taker / Rusev match needing a Casket Match stipulation? There has been no feud between these two.
This whole show really has no storyline purpose (a Royal Rumble in April?) other than it’s gonna make them a boatload of money.
and, in the progress, even spitting on the whole “women’s evolution” thing.
(in case you didn’t know: there won’t be ANY female in ring performers on that show because (afaik) it’s not allowed according to Saudi laws)
I think in a few weeks they’ll be a huge story over WWE buying TNA’s video library. Jeff Jarrett induction, already got footage on an upcoming dvd, being mentioned on Raw, yea its coming.
As long as Impact is still in business they won’t sell the library. Will they loan people, like WWE, footage if they ask? Sure. That I could see.
TNA (or Impact Wrestling) have launched their own streaming service late last year with GWN Network – so far has every PPV from 2004 onwards, the Asylum shows and Impact episodes from 2004-2005, DVDs like Kurt Angle,Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, plus other indy promotions
I recall the CEO of Anthem (TNA’s current owners) mentioned something along the lines of “why sell library to WWE if we can make money off the footage with our own service”. They won’t just give up the whole library but most likely are willing to lease the footage for a price, which is a smart business move. Impact is still in business, however if Anthem didn’t take over Dixie’s mess I think the library would have been sold off to WWE.
No one is watching impact all there talent is gone. It’s just a matter of time before they are done. There is no money to be made they are in the red
Although Impact always appear to be in dire straits as you’ve described, the fact is that people have been saying that constantly for years now and they’re still here. For that reason, I think it’s pointless to keep saying they are about to close, when if history has shown us anything, they probably won’t any time soon. We might as well just watch it unfold and be happy for them if they somehow manage to stay alive.
Wow! Can you believe it? For the first time ever, there will be a 50 man ‘ROYAL RUMBLE”. Plus for the first time ever, their will be 2 ‘ROYAL RUMBLES” this year. This past january’s and this month’s. The last time the ‘w.w.e’ had a ‘ROYAL RUMBLE’ that was over 30 men was 6 years earlier with the first ever 40 man ‘ROYAL RUMBLE’. And now after 6 years their doing it again. And i hope they do record this on d.v.d for the UNITED STATES release.
The 40 man Rumble wasn’t that good IMO, and was only done to accommodate all the Nexus members. I got so sick of hearing that theme song hit repeatedly during that match.
There’s already been 2 Royal Rumbles this year. GRR will be the third.
Sad thing is that the Greatest Rumble looks like it could be better than WrestleMania. Granted, there are shows that have been better than Mania, but I say it’s sad when the show that’s supposed to be the biggest event of the year ends up being a let down.
I suppose the chances of the Greatest Royal Rumble event making it to Blu Ray are somewhere between slim and none?
Doubt that….to WWE Blu-ray is a thing of the past (except WM). For them DVD is the future of physical media.
Yup. Blu-ray died out with Betamax, VHS, Laserdisc and 4K UHDs. DVD is the hot new trend that’s in right now.
DVD: The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
Lol! How’d you make that out?!
DVD’s don’t give us any HD (high definition) / No Specials (Extra Matches/Moments) that we get with the Blu-Rays!
Except that WWE have never said this, ever.
I think the AJ Styles DVD will have TNA matches. That’s why they went with the match comp. No need to worry about not having enough footage.
Greatest rumble will more then likely be on DVD…..in the UK. I guess US thinks dvd is dead even though I prefer it to streaming.
Ok..: so when is the AJ DVD scheduled to come out?
Greatest Royal Rumble on DVD…. Would be great!!!!! Betting it will be a better show than this years Backlash PPV overall.
Pretty big news on WWE working with Impact on, well…anything! This opens up so many possibilities.
Good news about Greatest RR. Thought it may a UK Exclusive, like Elimination Chamber 2015, etc.
But disappointed about AJ, was hoping for a doc and two discs of matches.
thanks for the update Daniel! Last new release I saw at my local Walmart was Best of NXT but that was only out for a week or two. And the RAW 25 has yet to appear (although often new releases are a week or two behind the US dates for some reason). NXT wasn’t that long ago so I will chalk it up to distribution issues and not an exit from the Canadian marketplace. for now 🙂
Although, out of curiosity, I did check a couple of other Canadian online stores and all show the same, newest release is Best of NXT and nothing else available since then or for preorder. It may be a good thing I upgraded to a region free player back in november.
E1 are the distributors of WWE DVDs/Blu-rays in Canada so it most likely is just a delay with E1 and Warner.
I remember this was an issue about 15 years ago when KOCH was the WWE distributor for Canada and Sony Wonder Home Video were distributors in the US. DVDs use to come out about 1-3 months after the US. An example I remember was WM19 came out around May 2003 but in Canada came out in July 2003.
When KOCH went under E1 took over and it was much better as we use to get the compilation/documentaries the same day as the US but PPVs for some reason had a delay of 1-2 weeks
Any update on the planned Nicholas 3 disc set?
Har har. So clever.
I think they’re waiting for his hall of fame induction
Maybe the Warrior Award for next year HOF…
