Artwork decisions aside, “Eric Bischoff: Sports Entertainment’s Most Controversial Figure” remains scheduled for June, packing in a 90 minute documentary feature, 30 minutes of additional stories, and over 5 hours of extras from Eazy E’s career in the AWA, WCW, and WWE.
Above is another look at the original cover artwork…

Back in October we revealed WWE has a “Hardcore” DVD & Blu-ray set in the works.
WrestlingDVDNetwork.com can now confirm “The History of the Hardcore Championship: 24/7” is on the way for September release, and as the name suggests it’s slated to cover the history of the title from 1998 through 2002 by way of a match compilation and video packages.
We’ve received word this week that WWE’s upcoming Steelbook Blu-rays will all be released to fans in the United States as well as fans in the United Kingdom. As you may have been following, there’s been some slight confusion as to whether or not some might be UK exclusive.
“Straight Outta Dudleyville: The Legacy of the Dudley Boyz”, WrestleMania 32, and the Eric Bischoff Blu-ray mentioned earlier are each set to receive the special Steelbook packaging.
Two more limited edition Steelbooks are yet to be announced.
If the WrestleMania Anthology box set is still missing from your WWE DVD collection, take a look at the eBay auctions linked to below for decent deals up for grabs in the next few days:
$31.00 – WrestleMania Anthology 1-22 DVD Box Set
$56.99 – WrestleMania Anthology 1-21 DVD Box Set
The old cover was better. UGH!
I respectfully disagree
I agree with most of you who say the new cover is horrible. They should have stayed with the first one. Please WWE, return to your senses and go back to the original concept.
And yes, they should have put the Bischoff vs Austin match from No Way Out on this set. It’s a must!
Very disappointed they changed the cover of the DVD/Blu ray. The new cover art is extremely ugly. The first one was great and portrayed very well what it’s all about.
I am still angry at the fact that Bischoff’s match versus Steve Austin at No Way Out is not on the DVD or Blu ray. It should have been a part of it since it was a huge moment to see Stone Cold get his revenge on Bischoff after being fired by him way back in WCW. It was Stone Cold’s return and that match received the biggest reaction of the crowd over Hogan vs the Rock II. In my opinion, it was one of the biggest moment in Eric Bischoff’s career with the WWE.
Other than the ugly cover art and the Stone Cold match missing, this DVD/Blu ray looks fine.
This new cover sucks, the first one definitely played off the title of him being controversial.
I would have liked a second volume of hardcore matches instead of just the title especially since the first volume didn’t include any Last Man Standing matches if I remember.
I wish WWE did the what all the other championship belts did and presented the History of the United States Championship instead of throwing in random patches and altering the timeline.
I’m looking forward to the hardcore title dvd however.
I was one of those who didn’t like the original Bischoff cover art and would’ve preferred just a head-shot, but my God, did they have to pick one where he’s pointing at his own dimples?! I actually would’ve preferred the original cover to that. Just a normal photo of Bischoff would’ve been fine.
Good to see the Hardcore DVD is just about the title and not hardcore matches in general. The Bischoff cover is hilarious, too. I knew they’d change it to something ridiculous.
Notice the fire underneath Bischoff on the cover? That’s cause he’s the devil. Get it? Anyone who has the balls to go head up with Vince has to be the devil, right? Only bad people compete against Vince. Vince is a saint. He’d never go head up with other companies and put them out of business. Never.
-Total sarcasm-
Vintage, Vinnie Big Mac the Saint..
Lol at LP1…yeah Vince only helps himself not hurt the other guy…insert sarcasm here
The new cover of Bischoff is awful, it is a shame they changed it, the old cover is way better!
I think the new cover is a billion times better, personally.
Love the new cover…..much better than the original.
Loving the new Eric Bischoff DVD cover. Great news on the steelbooks.
The original cover was a hell of a lot better. New one is ugly.
Cool news about the steelbooks being available worldwide. Not so much about the new Bischoff cover though. I liked the other one better.
Horrible cover, compared to first draft.. I hate these -close-ups in your face- covers.. Cena-syndrome style..really don’t need to be “devoured” by the cover, jeeez..
Can’t wait for 24/7 fun.. trash-entertainment the hardcore way is what I love, and with AE vol. 3, OMG vol. 3: ECW and this Hardcore champ collection coming, only a Falls count anyway vol. 2 release is missing..but, hey.. 2017 needs its slots to be filled too, right..!? 😉
There is a lot of stuff they could release in 2017, and hope they follow suit by including more untelevised TV taping stuff and I don’t count Coliseum Video Exclusives as new stuff.
Preferred the original Bischoff cover of I’m honest but the new one isn’t terrible. Still be interested to see if this release brings anything new to my attention – how many times has Bischoff’s story been told on WWE releases?
As to the Hardcore release, I’m surprised it’s being done as a ‘History of’ release given we haven’t had a History of the Tag Team Titles release yet (probably can’t work out how to do it given the actual history of the championship!)
Also on the Hardcore release; haven’t most of the important (and less important – cough *Patterson/Brisco KOTR* cough) matches already been released. I can’t see how this is going to be anything other than full of repeats. Nice to have them all in one place though I guess
The other cover was way better. Why does the WWE continue to make bad choices?
Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed the other Bischoff cover. I don’t care for this one at all.
