WWE DVD Updates This Week: Stomping Grounds 2019 Cover Art, Paige & Becky, Piper Pre-Order & SummerSlam News

July 5, 2019 by Daniel Bee

WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has been quiet, but we’ve been working on a few things in the background (like switching the site from http:// to https://) but enough of the boring stuff, did you know this week saw not one but TWO new WWE DVD releases?

Becky Lynch and Paige received the WWE DVD treatment for this first time this past Monday with the release of “Becky Lynch – Iconic Matches” and “Paige – Iconic Matches” DVDs in the UK.

Check out the official trailer for the Paige DVD above.

The single-disc DVDs come with a handful of matches and a low price tag (£4.99 on Amazon.co.uk). On Paige’s DVD expect to find NXT and WWE content between the years 2013 and 2017, not long before she retired from in-ring competition. Becky’s DVD is approached a little differently as it features some of her best matches from 2018, the year in which she dubbed herself “The Man”.

They could well surface sometime in the United States, whether that be in the form of individual titles like these or bundled with action figures like we’ve seen in the past — as always we’ll let you know if there’s any further update on them.

There was another WWE DVD update this week worth getting rowdy about — “Getting Rowdy: The Unreleased Matches of Roddy Piper” is now available to pre-order in the United States; grab it for $19.98 by clicking here to Amazon.com.

Piper’s Unreleased DVD is on the schedule for August 2019 and it may just be the biggest WWE DVD release of the summer packing in close to 20 matches, 11 Piper’s Pits, a selection of promos and interviews, and a new interview with Ronda Rousey filmed just for this DVD!

Speaking of Superstars getting their first WWE DVD earlier, the same will soon apply to The Miz!

The first finished copies of “The Miz: A-List Superstar” were viewed this week by media partners ahead of the release later this month. And with that we bring you an exclusive new clip of the DVD, previewing some of the new interview footage with Miz:

Lastly, some new details on the planned Home Video release of SummerSlam 2019:

  • It’s confirmed for September 10th, 2019 in the United States.
  • It will be released DVD-only in the United States (Blu-ray expected in the UK).
  • The DVD will be a 2-disc set.
  • The U.S. version will include a Charlotte Flair Topps trading card (some with a signature).

We always hear that the Iconic Matches have a “low price tag” of £4.99, but is it really? For like three matches that usually aren’t even rare and can be found elsewhere? Sounds over-priced to me. Or at least proportionate to the usual price.

Do we know if Stomping Grounds is a 2 disc set with extras? Or were they able to fit the full show on one disc?
