I’ll weigh in on the Batista bashing conversation. I can agree that his return has been quite pathetic, which parallels his move selection. This could have been a great return, but Batista was never great in the ring and was never that popular among fans. I was never a big fan of him, but certain matches have showcased great talent, but the only ones I can think of was his HIAC with HHH and some work with Taker.
My biggest issue with this set is the fact that I’d rather them release either another unreleased ECW or another title history set like the US title. This year has been great for sets so far, and I think this has been the only dud. But, certain sets where I’m not always a fan of the superstar have surprised me over the years. For example, I for one hate CM Punk and always have, especially now after his walkout. With that said, his release was truly amazing. So, I’m hoping the same can come from Batista. It’s hard to separate the wrestler from the blu ray, but maybe WWE will offer something new in this set and make me rethink my Batista opinion. At the very least, the content is far better than I initially thought it would be.
If you look down the front page the content for the dvd is already up it just of matches
he was competitve in does not include feuds with Triple H, Undertaker or Booker T
Just matches hes had with current superstars of today.
This is a great 2nd dvd set about Batista well the more competitive side of him
thats why they had called him the animal god there are lot of fans out there of his
ignore the internet smarks out there and enjoy his work hes still treated as one of
the best stars ever god deacon was his early days it wasnt to long and he was just
a body guard for Dvon and he didnt really wrestle at the time. Yes I watched back then
to and remember it well he doesnt even look like the deacon character anymore hes a 6 time world champ deal with that!
He sucked then, he sucks now. Deacon Batista needs to go wrestle a racoon and get the hell out of the wwe. This is the first wwe blu ray ever I will not be buying and the first disc release period in many years. I just don’t understand why they don’t get that no one has any interest in this subpar, muscle-bound jerk-off who is EASILY one of the 5 worst on the mic since the 80s and not drastically better in the ring.
I gotta agree. Batista was very limited in all aspects. I think he was not welcomed back because when he left he did not leave us wanting more. Sure, multiple title reigns, but no skill or technique in the ring or on the mic to back it up. He was popular due to immediate power rubs (HHH, Flair, etc.). Mic skills were terrible. How are you gonna call someone an “animal” when they speak like an angry librarian at best? calling him “the animal” was an insult to Road Warrior Animal and even George Steele…and Steele stunk! And WWE knew this, that’s why he always lost the big ones. He didn’t build much of a reputation as an impact player before he left- unlike Brock Lesnar. He left wwe in less time than Batista, but the impact he made in that limited time kept us wanting more. On the mic, Lesnar sounded about as threatening as a born-again Christian so he focused on his positives: in-ring performance. He could perform like a monster, a technician, a cruiser weight, he did it all. So it was a no brainier the fans were waiting for him. I think Batista was a case of too much too soon. Giving him the royal rumble only pissed the fans off (and cm punk) because like in real life- we hate it when someone is given the world- and they haven’t earned it.
