Revealed by CM Punk himself on Twitter, here’s a documentary preview of WWE’s CM Punk: Best in the World DVD.
The video confirms three personalities interviewed for the main feature – Colt Cabana, Curt Hawkins, and Kofi Kingston.
As reported, the CM Punk DVD release date is October 9th, 2012 in the United States. It will be available to pre-order (Blu-ray included) on retail sites in the coming days.
Thanks to Bruno Ferreira for alerting us of the trailer reveal.
A new WWE Tagged Classics DVD is on the way, which sees the re-release of the original Best of Raw Vol 1 & 2 tapes.
The volumes feature matches from July, August, September, and October 1996.
That’s released to the UK and Europe as a 2-Disc DVD set in September. You can pre-order it now by clicking here.
WrestleMania 28 is the next WWE DVD to hit the UK, released in less than one week (when ordering with Silvervision.co.uk).
The newly revealed nWo, Brock Lesnar, and Attitude Era DVDs will also be available to Europe later in the year.
The fact that Punk had control over his dvds production makes this set all that more interesting. I can’t wait to see if he got to use footage or matches that WWE wouldn’t usually put out
They could still release The Wrestling Classic & Tuesday in Texas as a Tagged Classic.
They can’t do that because they never released Wrestling Classic and so cannot re-release it unless wwe does. Thye did release Tuesday In Texas as part of Supertape 92. However, the master tape is apparently corrupted and beyond repair, so they can’t issue that one.
Looks Punk-a-licious. My boy sure did good. Daddy Punk is proud of ya too, son.
I think they’re struggling to know what will sell with Tagged Classics now that there’s no PPVs left. Although this stuff may have been the Best Of Raw at THAT time, it really isn’t looking back, and I just don’t see it selling all that well. I’ll get the odd re-release of a superstar-specific set, but buying these random TV match compilations would seem like flushing my cash down the toilet for me, which is why I avoided the Brawl in the Famiy/Wrestling Grudge Matches set. There’s nothing that is really relevant to any great feuds or anything on most of those Coliseum Videos.
Its a far more honest version of history than the revisionist compilations made 15 or so years later. And they are far less random match compilations than what you get from wwe now, e.g falls count anywhere. These are from specified months on Raw and they follow the storylines from that period. I used to own the whole series on VHS and they are certainly worth the money! There is a lot of stuff relevant to great feuds in the series following through 1997, such as Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart and Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold, Undertaker vs. Mankind etc.

That very first shot of Punk made me laugh for some reason. For about 2 seconds he reminded me of a greasy Super Crazy standing in the middle of Mexico with no shirt on.
CM Punk DVD looks good from the clip. It will be an interesting watch I’m sure.
I need to start getting my hands on some Tagged Classics.
Will the Attitude Era, NWO and Brock Lesar DVDs come out before Xmas in the UK?
Not known at this point but I’m sure Silver Vision will be clamoring to get as many of those in time for Xmas as possible. Like last year. 🙂
Colt Cabana, Curt Hawkins and Kofi Kingston? Jack Swagger, Hornswoggle and Santino weren’t available?
those are three of his closest friends
Lame comment alert. It’s a 1 min preview of a documentary that will run a couple of hours. And those guys are close friends with Punk as far as I know, so who better to talk about him? If you had The Rock on there, that’s some awesome star power, but what is he gonna say of worth about Punk? Come on.
Well after Undertaker’s Streak docu, I would say it SHOULD be 2 hours. Most are, but obviously not all recently.
Marco, please tell me you did not just say that!
He didn’t say that. TELL ME HE DID NOT JUST SAY THAT!!
Chad, it’s following a similar format to the Cena Experience/Orton Predator sets, so it’s a given it’ll run at least 1hr30. The focus of Taker’s new DVD is to compile every WM match of his, not give an in depth documentary (sadly).
