it looked fine on VHS also but u go with the times dvd replaced VHS just like Blu Ray is replacing DVD soon u wont be able to buy dvd players or dvd HD is the future. the problem i have with WWE is why have half of the 2011 on Blu Ray then stop and continue with DVD. but other countries keep getting blu ray while the USA don’t i have no problem with the picture or sound on WWE dvd’s actually when u watch them in ur blu ray player in enhances it. but i just hate the fact of having half of collection blu ray and the other half dvd it dont look right. plus like i said before u loose all the extras. WWE needs to make up there mind either all blu ray or all dvd simple as that.
indyfan exactly to my point! wrestling doesn’t have to be necessarily in HD to enjoy it, I enjoy it on DVD and it looks fine to me. if only DVD’S would have enough space to put as much extras as you can on a BLU-RAY.
The only thing good about Blu ray versions is the extra content. I don’t need to see wrestling in hd to enjoy it.
@Dave
Thats what I did, I bought a bluray player (one that plays just about any disc, i.e. DVD-R, DVD-RW, etc.) just because I wanted Greatest Rivalries and Austins set(s). Once I watched them on bluray I couldn’t believe I didn’t switch sooner.
Eventually they will release all Blurays and DVD will be a memory. But as Steven said, its a business, and as soon as it picks up on blurays, they will distribute all bluray instead. Thats why they include extras only on blurays…. to make people buy those instead of DVDs. It worked on me, lol.
@steve well WWE started to do something smart on the first 2 PPV Blu Ray’s of the year with the Blu Ray / DVD Combo pack they did it for Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber but then stopped. That could have been a good way to start people with just a dvd player to start buying Blu Rays. This way with the combo pack they have there dvd and if they ever decide to go Blu Ray they would have that also. But that didn’t last long. And i not waht ur saying u can get a Blu Ray player for under $100.00 now not a name brand of still a Blu Ray player. Or if they have a PS3 like me they would have one built right in. I was at the Raw gets Rocked in Boston and that event is one of the bonus features on the Survivor Series Blu Ray. That’s whats makes me so mad i could of had the event i was at on a official WWE Blu Ray. Looks like i’m just gonna have to buy a Region Free Blu Ray Player it seems.
@Dave
WWE Blu-rays in North America (specifically ppvs) are not selling…as much as I would love all PPVs on Blu-ray, it’s a business decision… Be mad at the stubborn fans clinging to their DVD player and not accepting blu-ray, those people are staggering the blu-ray sales, they bash blu-ray because they don’t own it so and to make themselves feel better about their inferior product.
Blu-ray is the future…just accept it, players are getting cheaper by the day…the Best Buy around my area don’t even carry DVD players in store anymore, you have to get it online or special order.
@Vincenzzzzzo i said all PPV Blu Ray i know we get the sets. and i dont think the rant was uncalled for. Lets just say Pipe Bomb…. and i dropped one cuz if CM Punk wants his Ice Cream Bars i want my WWE PPV on Blu Ray. i’m sick of WWE and Vince McMahon squeezing every dime out of us fans but he never really delivers on there dvd sets. How many dvd sets didn’t come with booklets before they went to the new format where there on the cardboard part of the case now. also how many blu rays didn’t come with booklets before they just stated with Austin. I’m glad the KOTR got one and i hope they continue with them on all future Blu Ray sets. Wish the Shawn vs Bret had one but no such luck. i just dont think its fair to put stuff on one format for one country and not another. Specially with the US being there biggest money market. But we dont get our PPV’s on Blu Ray. CM Punk was ready to leave WWE if they didn’t meet his demands. So why can us as fans stand up for our rights and what we believe in and say we’ll leave to if they don’t meet ours. Granted WWE is all scripted i know this but just making a point. Like i said i dont think my rant was uncalled for it was more of me venting and dropping a Pipe Bomb on WWE dvd/blu ray production and Vince himself. if i offended anyone outside WWE then i apologize. But i dont apologize to the idiots who make the decisions for WWE dvd /blu ray ppv’s.
it’s always nice to relive the best ppv matches of the past year and it’s more awesome to see it on Blu Ray! but mad that CM Punk’s tittle victory @ Survivor Series wont be included 🙁 I was really hoping to see it in HD.
@Dave
Uh… Best PPV matches of 2011 is coming out on Bluray in the US. I agree about adding Survivor Series and TLC matches to it because I’m sure there will be a few great matches at TLC. The Rock/Cena survivor series match should have been included too. But I still think your rant was uncalled for.
This is such a waste of money WWE dose not know what there doing. How do u release the Best PPV of 2011 and not have any matches from Survivor Series or TLC. And with the US not getting any more blu ray while UK gets just about all of them is not fair to the WWE collector. I can’t see how the UK has a better market then the US when it comes to selling WWE Blu Ray. it makes me made cuz i buy the hole year in PPV i get half in Blu Ray and the rest all are on dvd it’s so stupid. Whoever is in charge of making these decisions nneds to be fired. I’m not gonna buy one WWE PPV for 2012 Vince McMahon will not see a dime from me. I just wish other fans would do the same go on strike there is no WWE without us. And if Vince saw that us as PPV collectors want our blu rays not dvds maybe we will get all of them on blu ray from now on. cuz if UK gets them and we dont thats like a slap in the face to us fans. 90% of all live events and all the PPVS take place in the US. Our money is good enough for all that but not for blu rays unreal thanks WWE
im looking forward to this belive it or not lol
I Quite like him as host its change, i dont know if paying £22.99 here in the uk at silvervision.co.uk for the blu ray version just to see punk vs cena at mitb 2011 in hd cause i got rumble, chamber and summerslam 2011 all on blu ray so will have to wait until the price comes down 😀
Can’t beat a bit of Stanford!
