For more than 20 years, the King of the Ring has been a favorite tradition of the WWE Universe, a tournament to crown wrestling royalty. Past kings have included Randy Savage, Bret “Hit Man” Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Edge, and Brock Lesnar.

But the King of the Ring’s popularity goes beyond the storied tournament, as for 10 years, King of the Ring was a wildly popular PPV event that produced a number of unforgettable moments including the Hell in a Cell match between Undertaker and Mankind, Stone Cold’s memorable battle with Mr. McMahon and Shane McMahon for control of the WWE, Austin’s debut of his revolutionary “Austin 3:16” catchphrase, the first-ever match between Hulk Hogan and Kurt Angle, as well as matches for the WWE Championship.

Now all those moments are collected in The Best of the King of the Ring, a 3-DVD set packed with more than 8 hours of amazing matches, interviews, moments, and more.

WWE: The Best of King of the Ring is incoming on DVD and Blu-ray for later this month, so get your pre-orders in now by clicking here.

The UK and Europe gets it next month, available to order now at Silvervision.co.uk.

  2. Wilson30 says:

Get this or not, has a couple of matches I want to see again but not complete sold on getting, might just wait till Rock’s and Triple H DVD’s are out and hopefully in 2012 a NWO 3 disc DVD will be out.

  4. Isrs4life says:

That is by gawd the best art work wwwe did all year on a WWE DVD Set.

  5. Geolink says:

    Artwork looks pretty sweet.

  6. steven says:

suprised Kane vs Austin 1st blood match from 1998 isnt on this set.

  7. Brad Attitude says:

The match listing for this set is decent but not all the best matches are on here. Some matches here are either crap and have no significant on being on this supposed “Best of” dvd set.

  8. Andy says:

@SRB… WWE is punishing people? What planet do you live on?

  9. Phil says:

@SRB… You need to realize that times are changing and the days of VHS and DVD are gone. Either stick with the times or get left behind. It’s obvious to me that you are still stuck in the past.

  10. Dave says:

    @ SRB

WWE is not punishing anyone by not switching to Blu-ray…that’s your problem, if you want to stick to DVD, good for you…if people are going to be shelling out $5-$10 extra for the Blu-ray version they better damn well put some exclusive feature to entice sales…movie studios do this all the time with releases…they hardly focus on DVDs anymore and put the good stuff on blu-ray.

Blu-ray is the future…like it or not…price shouldn’t even be an issue anymore…you can buy a decent one for like $70-$100, and your DVD collection won’t even be obsolete since they play DVDs too.

  11. Steve says:

Put Mankind-Undertaker on a few more set’s it’s only been on about 50 dvd sets already. Whoever comes up with these DVD’s and match listings should be fired.

  12. SRB says:

@Ricky Do I really think that? Really? No. It was a comment to the extreme. But guess what the 2nd disc has about 4 or 5 matches on it, so were not far off. If they ever release a set with the HBK/Hart Iron Man and pretty much any other main event then yes, you may be looking at 2 matches on 1 disc. Either way the content is getting smaller and smaller time wise and people who choose not to go to Blu Ray are getting punished for not doing so. Just my opinion or maybe im just out of my “got-dang mind.” lol

  13. Ricky Schmidt says:

@SRB, if you seriously think they’re gonna drop to just two matches per DVD, you’re out of your got-dang mind. The Blu Ray probably runs 9 hours. It’s like when they went from VHS to DVD, the DVD always had longer run times because of the extras. It’s like that now with DVDs and BDs though I will agree it’s complete crap they won’t do 9 hours for DVDs and then 10 or so for Blu Ray.

  14. SRB says:

The pictures are really amazing… And the running time is 7.5 hours? Youve got to be kidding me. What’s next 6 hours and then 2 hours? Pretty soon theyll be releasing DVDs with 2 matches on them. Why cant WWE fill these discs? Why is it so difficult? There were so many good matches left off of the set. Why?!?

  15. Steve says:

dont know if this change has been implemented already or not, but i noticed the appx running time is changed to 7.5 hours instead of the previous 9

  16. James says:

Love that pic of The Undertaker and Foley on the back
