  6. Dan Mader says:

I feel like I’m the only guy who picked Backlash 01 to be given away. I have Survivor Series already and I think that Backlash and Judgment Day are the harder releases to find.

    • Daniel Bee says:

      You and 98 others. 🙂

      • BR says:

I guess it’s because Sur. Series is more historic. I have all 3 already, but in my opinion Backlash is the best of the 3, and was the hardest for me to get. Sur. Series I got for free by accident thanks to highspots, Judgment Day I bought for like 15 bucks or whatever regular price, but Backlash I had to by from a seller through amazon for 40 bucks. Well worth it, but still it was the toughest to get.

  12. Thijs says:

I’m lucky that I live in europe regarding blu rays, but since I pay with euro’s, every 3 dvd release will cost me €27 (= 23 pounds) + 3.10 pound shipping costs. So if I order just 1 blu ray it will cost me more than €30. You guys in the us at least can buy the dvd’s much and much cheaper. Furthermore, Freamantle never drops in prices with their new releases.

I prefer buying original dvd/blu rays, but at such high prices I just “steal” it of the internet and pay nothing for the product…

    • Vincenzzzzzo says:

….”but at such high prices I just steal it off the internet and pay nothing for the product”.

And you’re an example of just one of the reasons why pro wrestling is in the kind of shape it’s in these days. I don’t care how expensive something is. Stealing PPV’s and other products is a scum move dude. Sorry.

      • David says:

Yeah, WWE is a hobby and if you enjoy it then you should contribute to the product. These days people think they’re too smart for the business and actually ruin the enjoyment from others.

Lot of people have hobbies like collecting baseball cards and comic books, and some cases people pay like $500-1000 for them. If you think its too expensive then maybe its not for you, go find another hobby.

You’re probably those people that torrent video games as well and think you have a right to complain about it to game developers. People like you ruin these things for everyone.

        • Thijs says:

Lol like I can pay $500?? I’m a student, therefore I have to pay €1700 a year, excluding books, food, house, etc. So therefore I’m also working, but I can keep it up and go to some parties etc. That means that the money I have left I can’t pay 30 euro for a few hours of dvd’s.

I do prefer buying legit material, but if it’s too expensive too bad than I have to try it another way. Who are you to say that I need to search for an other hobby? Besides that, I’ll bet you guys are working already so you can afford it, that’s easy talk.

Furthermore in The Netherlands it isn’t a problem to download movies or series in a newsgroup, as long as you don’t seed them it’s legit.

          Tell me I’m wrong?

    • Jeremy says:

      Do you steal cars too?

  13. Charlie 1185 says:

Will PS3 play tagged classics and euro blus?

  14. Jamie Blake says:

On the Best PPV matches I’d like to see:
    – CM Punk vs Rock at Royal Rumble
    – Elimination Chamber match at EC
    – Undertaker vs CM Punk at ‘Mania
    – Lesnar vs Triple H at ‘Mania
    – Cena vs Ryback at Extreme Rules
    – Katlyn vs AJ at Payback
    – Jericho vs CM Punk at Payback
    – RAW MITB ladder match at MITB
    – Lesnar vs CM Punk at SummerSlam
    – Cena vs Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam
    – Rhodes family vs Shield at Battleground
I think these matches all need to be on this set.

  15. RabidHeat says:

I am just hoping they’re not stupid enough to put that diabolical Rock/Cena match from ‘Mania on this set.

  16. Timothy Thorpe says:

Depending on how long the dvd is and if they release it blu ray in Europe, I may have to invest in a region free blu ray player.

    • David says:

Definitely buy one, it really opens up opportunities to buy Blu-rays and even DVDs that are not available here. I bought one last year and love it.

I have some Tagged Classics (mostly IYH and KOTR that are not available here) but really don’t like the PAL effect on NTSC TVs with DVDs. But region B Blu-rays look and sound great and notice no PAL effect at all. I recently imported No Holds Barred on Blu-ray and it actually looks pretty good in HD.

My first preference is always the North American versions, if those aren’t available then i tend to import from Amazon UK. Just wondering if UK will be getting the RAW 20th Anniversary Collection on Blu-ray. If they are I might have to import that.

  17. Bowers says:

another awesome cover for a dvd i probably won’t pick up right away. One, why the hell is WWE not putting out a bluray for this? Two, the only PPVs i don’t own already from this year so far are Extreme rules, NOC, and Battleground.

  18. Shane says:

Wow! That cover is quite amazing. I will be picking this up! When is th release date again?

  19. Papuchiz says:

    DVD rules!!!!

  20. Vincenzzzzzo says:

Don’t really care about the cover, although it’s nice. I won’t be buying because it won’t be on Blu-ray. Too bad.

  21. Ryan says:

It’s hard for me to get excited for this set when it’s not going to be on Blu-Ray.

  22. Richard says:

Punk will have at least 3 matches on this set. Maybe that explains the cover.

Punk vs Rock @ Royal Rumble
    Punk vs Undertaker @ WM29
    Punk vs Jericho @ Payback
    Punk vs Lesnar. @ Summerslam

Since his matches with Taker and Brock are mortal locks, I see him having his match with Rock added as well.

DBryan vs John Cena @ Summerslam
Triple H vs Brock at Extreme Rules
DBryan vs Randy Orton @ Night of Champions.
WWE Title All Star MITB match
RVD vs Del Rio @ Battleground

  23. Scott says:

If it’s not going to be on blu ray then I’m going to hold out for when WWE Shop puts the whole years worth of PPVs in one package on sale. I’ve picked up other years at a pretty low rate in the past. Just have to be patient…

  24. ALK says:

Nice cover, but too bad I won’t pick it up till its a fiver….or has a Blu Ray over here in Europe…

  25. Dashing Dick says:

Ugh, I don’t want to pick this up, but if I don’t have enough to pick up the missing PPVs from this year I don’t have yet, I’ll probably get it. Wish it was in bluray though. Love the crispness.

  26. King Shabazz says:

And the sole survivor of this match…WWE DVD!!!

  27. Mr Disc says:

This is another pass for me as i already have all of the released PPV’s from this year on Blu-ray anyway.

  28. Travis says:

Yeah, it is disappointing that the PPVs are shot and presented in HD, but yet a Blu-ray release for Best Pay-Per-View Matches of 2013 isn’t happening. If I had to guess what matches would appear, it will probably include:

The Rock vs. CM Punk (Royal Rumble)

Jack Swagger vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kane vs. Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Mark Henry (Elimination Chamber)

John Cena/Ryback/Sheamus vs. Seth Rollins/Dean Ambrose/Roman Reigns (Elimination Chamber)

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk (WrestleMania)

John Cena vs. The Rock (WrestleMania)

Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H (Extreme Rules)

CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho (Payback)

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Christian vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus (Money in the Bank)

CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar (SummerSlam)

John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan (SummerSlam)

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton (Night of Champions)

Goldust & Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns (Battleground)

In all honesty, I’m more excited for the Raw/SmackDown 2013 compilation. Should have a lot of Daniel Bryan and Antonio Cesaro awesomeness.

    • David says:

That looks pretty spot on…i’m sure they will also include one or two from Hell in a Cell this Sunday.

I’m not going to be picking this up. I believe its a complete waste not putting on Blu-ray. All these matches were shot in HD, downscaling to SD just looks terrible.

      • TheManInBlu says:

I’m with you. No Blu-ray, no purchase for me. A real shame; it would be an EXCELLENT release. Way to go WWE!

  29. Simon says:

This is the first year that I’ve deliberately held back on buying PPVs just so I could get this instead. Judging by the cover, we’ll be seeing Taker/Punk and Rock/Cena, and in addition to Tripls/Lesnar on Thy Kingdom Come, that’ll be all the WM29 content I want taken care of. Am guessing that this won’t have anything from Survivor Series or TLC though.

  30. Bill says:

Great great great cover, but I collect all the ppvs, yes I’ll be getting Battleground

  31. BR says:

Really awesome DVD cover. Strange it won’t be on blu-ray. Maybe WWE is slowly drifting away from blu-ray releases?

    • David says:

I think they are just being selective now. Seems like PPVs (minus Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania) are out of the question until i assume sales pick up, but with these major releases they will just pick and choose which is a shame.

Best PPV Matches and Best of RAW and SD should ALWAYS get Blu-ray releases, no doubt.

      • LP1 says:

The problem is how will they know if BR sales pick up if they’re not being released on BR? Will they judge based on the UK BR sales? Or the WrestleMania and Rumble sales?

It’s really ridiculous. Blu-rays have been around since 2006 and WWE’s first BR was in 2008. 2014 will be the 7th year that WWE has been producing BRs. Can you imagine if in 2005(WWE’s 7th year on DVD) that they said “Ok, we’re only going to release WrestleMania and Royal Rumble on DVD. The rest will be on VHS.” Instead of being ahead of the curve they’re falling behind.

        • David says:

Not too sure. I think they should test out putting EVERY PPV and compilations on Blu-ray for the year and see how sales do. I think that is the only way the will really know.

Back in 2011 they were suppose to release every PPV on Blu-ray but for some reason they judged Over the Limit 2011 and Extreme Rules being low on sales so they cancelled every ppv thereafter from Capitol Punishment onwards.

Maybe if people sign a petition and WWE sees it might work. I read people petitioned including subtitles on DVDs/Blu-ray and they did it which started with Top 25 Rivalries.

  32. WWECover says:

Great Cover Easily the best this Year, Great Job but a pointless release if you collect all the 2013 ppvs on blu-ray like i do, Good for those who dont collect all the ppvs or just the main 4 and want all the best matches on 1 set!!
