The previously reported content listing rumor for September’s Chris Jericho DVD turns out to be fake. As such both references to it on this site are being removed.
The listing was first posted on Amazon.com, then reported as valid by numerous wrestling news sites, and was subsequently confirmed by The Wrestling Observer Newsetter this week. For these reasons I kept the information online. However it now turns out to be fake.
As a reporter I am still learning (we have had this site up for now for around 2 months) but I believe the majority of news has been accurate and always stated as confirmed or rumor.
I’m not in the business of misleading people so there will be no more posts about this particular DVD until it is fully confirmed. It appears the content was a fan made listing and given the hype surrounding this DVD a lot of news sources have ran with it.
What is confirmed right now is that the Chris Jericho DVD will be entitled “The Highlight Reel”, be comprised of 3 Discs, and released in the USA & Canada on September 21st (from Amazon.com’s official product listing).
Yeah, I’m a DVD fan myself in the end and want a credible place with all the news so I don’t want fake stuff on here.
I saw Jericho’s message and retweeted it on our Twitter account (“wwedvdnews”). It sounds interesting and also made me think there may be some sort of doc on there. We’ll have to wait and see. Very excited for his DVD, it’s just been a difficult one to report about.
I’m glad to see you taking the high road on this! Very few wrestling news sites would ever admit to posting something wrong.
By the way, Jericho just tweeted that he’s seen a rough cut of his DVD. Do you think that means he’s getting a documentary DVD and not just a bunch of matches?
I’m sure atleast half those matches will be on the set anyways. His WCW TV debut vs Alex right, WWE TV Debut vs Road Dog, and a few of his World Title Wins.
yo db i saw the same content listing on 2 other big wrestling sites so it just ended up spreading through out all the sites. who ever made it up is probably getting a laugh out of it now. i know for fact our site didnt make it up and i hope know one is accusing this site of doing so. its all good, the real content will be available and it will be posted here first!
Yea and I was the only site I saw saying they were not at all confirmed. You get some people bashing you for posting false rumors and I’m just making it clear this site isn’t making stuff up for views.
