Here comes the m— actually no, there goes the money because Shane McMahon’s WWE DVD has been dropped from company’s 2018 Home Video schedule!
WrestlingDVDNetwork.com has exclusively learned that WWE will unfortunately no longer be releasing “Shane McMahon’s Craziest Matches”, a DVD project that has been under consideration for at least a year and one that was seemingly given the green light just last month.
The Shane McMahon DVD was on the way for June but looks to have been scrapped in a situation oddly reminiscent of two years ago when a Shane O’Mac DVD was close to being released as part of the 2016 line-up but was replaced with “The U.S. Championship: A Legacy of Greatness”.
It’s not all bad news though as similar to two years ago we can confirm that another WWE DVD set will now be taking up the same June 12th, 2018 release slot.
Here’s what the schedule is looking like from now ’til then. Any guesses what the new title may be? What’s on your wishlist for 2018 WWE DVDs? Leave your comments below.

We’re talking the reunion of The Shield, Shinsuke Nakamura’s match with John Cena, the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, The Undertaker, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar sharing the same ring, Braun Strowman’s quest to destroy Roman Reigns, and AJ Styles capturing the WWE Championship, while stand-out moments that didn’t quite make the list of 32 matches and segments (Festival of Friendship, anyone?) are highlighted in video packages sprinkled between selected content.
The US release comes housed in familiar Digipak-style packaging which we’ll take a peek at now. Thanks goes out to WDN reader Matthew Tremble for sharing the pics!

Are you KIDDING me?
Shane’s DVD set has been canned again?
Gee, it’s really funny how Triple H who isn’t even biologically a McMahon has had what… TWO DVD box sets released about him and Shane who is biologically a McMahon gets SHAFTED…
Typical WWE.
It’s pathetic that even the Chairman of WWE has had a DVD box set and has overlooked his son AGAIN! I blame Stephanie for this… She and Marissa are DELIBERATELY stirring up bad blood between Shane and Triple H… doesn’t take a genius or a freak like me to figure that one out.
Dislike
I’m still hoping for an unreleased WCW set (1985-1993)
While I’m disappointed the Shane O’Mac collection has once again been pulled, I’ve been thinking that it’s about time a DVD was released focusing on the women’s evolution in the WWE. With all female MITB matches, HIAC matches, the recent Royal Rumble and the forthcoming Elimination Chamber match, it’d be brilliant to see a women’s DVD from WWE that didn’t focus on lingerie shoots etc
Let’s get another Chris Jericho compilation to take Shane McMahon place.
Why, because a third Chris Jericho set is really a priority right now, or because you just personally happen to a fan of him?
Shane McMahon dvd was a boring idea anyway
My wishlist includes a set of just off air/during commercial break RAW/SD stuff, Unreleased/Unseen sets on Taker, Sting, Kane, Stone Cold, HHH, Jericho, Kurt Angle
You say that, but I can’t imagine that safe House Show matches for any of those guys are gonna have much re-watch value.
I’m still of the opinion that a Shane title could work if there was a new Shane interview getting his thoughts on his matches. I don’t think a straight compilation would work and I’m not sure he’s worth a full on documentary. I think we’ll get a Shane title eventually though
As for a replacement I was wondering if there had ever been an Evolution set proposed. A documentary involving all members could be interesting, or maybe a Round Table discussion? And I’m pretty sure some unreleased TV matches could be found along with some of the more familiar matches and moments
Undertaker looks so befuddled in that photo with Brock and Goldberg. Looks like he can’t remember what he’s doing there.
Unreleased 1986-1995 Volume 2 I hope.
Great artwork for Raw and Smackdown and glad to see the discs are actually filled with footage. Interesting that the running time is so precise. Usually they just round the total running time.
Where is Cena on the best of raw and smackdown cover? I don’t love him but I know he’s still a major talking point in wwe. Rediculous. Not even on the spine or back cover.
So we keep saying we want them to push new talent and move on toward the future. Then you complain that Cena isn’t on the cover.
out of that entire list I’m only interested in wrestlemania 34 and macho man unreleased.Hopefully wrestlemania will be released on bluray in the US.RAW 25 was a huge let down,so the special that was aired on USA is not worth buying on dvd and I’m sure we all have the matches that they plan on adding to the RAW set.
Great news! Hopefully they’ll replace the Shane set with an Unreleased Ric Flair set. I could easily come up with 60 unreleased Flair matches not on the network. With Flair’s recent ESPN special getting the number 1 rating for its premiere in spite of all the repeats allowing people to watch at other times, it would definitely be a top seller.
I like that idea. I’d also like if WWE did more of the Greatest Rivalries DVDs, like the one with Bret and Shawn. One with Steamboat and Flair would be amazing.
A great extra for a Flair set is that ESPN doc with an uncut version as I suspect the version that aired had some material cut out.
It does make you wonder if they read the moaning comments about it on here, lol.
Whatever the replacement is hopefully it isn’t rushed.
…like they did with the RKO Outta Nowhere, that litteraly did come outta nowhere.. was’nt that actually also a replacement for one of the million times they cancelled Shane O’Mac?!? -lol-
I believe the Randy Orton RKO Outta Nowhere replaced the Top 50 Moments of ECW…which they ended up completing but uploaded on the Network instead.
We have been hearing about a Shane McMahon DVD for years but always ends up being cancelled. I enjoy his matches but having 3 Discs of Shane is a bit much and really all of them follow the same formula with him bumping like a mad man. The only Shane match i really liked was vs. Angle at KOTR 2001 and even the match with Test at Summerslam 99 is really underrated and quite enjoyable. Other than those matches and probably another handful I don’t see the point of a Shane DVD.
Some reason I see WWE will probably release a Stephanie McMahon DVD before Shane and likely just be 90 minutes of praising Stephanie for creating Women’s wrestling, all her moments of emasculating and slapping all male superstars and making Ronda Rousey’s UFC career a huge success.
And ironically that Orton set was NOT better than the planned Shane DVD the following year would have been, lol.
Still looking forward to the randy savage unreleased…that’s it:)
Right when I was really looking forward to that Shane mcmahon DVD it drops
I’ve been thinking, maybe because Shane had a collection on the network, they scrapped the DVD? Maybe they’ve finally decided to put unreleased stuff on DVD or stuff that isn’t on the network yet? If so best of superstars is possible, but then AJ Styles wouldn’t be as likely. Unless they include the 3 things I mentioned previously.
I hope you guys release a best of WWE Superstars DVD
I have a feeling it will be the AJ Styles DVD set. Hopefully it will have a documentary, the MSG match in which he won the US title(I was there), and other rare matches wwe may have in their archives. Otherwise this may be a DVD set some people don’t want none of(see what I did there). I’d get it anyway as AJ is my favorite wrestler.
A Shane DVD would have been interesting with a documentary. Since that wasn’t the plan, I don’t care that it’s scrapped. Though that is kind of a slap in the face. I mean a certain someone that tried to put wwe out of business got a DVD devoted to him and Shane won’t?
I also hope that if it turns out to be that, that it will also come out on bluray (because all the content was broadcast in hd to begin with).
Hopefully it has his first WWE title win over Ambrose too, since Backlash 2016 never made it to DVD.
Oh well it would have been a bunch of matches already on countless other sets for the most part anyway. Hopefully it’s replaced with something not loaded with repeats. But I’m not getting my hopes up
