Next month will see the latest release in the OMG! DVD series, looking at the most shocking moments in the history of WCW.
Today I thought it only right that we look at how an ECW “OMG” DVD might just turn out. After all, ECW was the home of “OH MY GOD”!
So let’s take a look at how an OMG! Vol. 3 – The Top 50 Incidents in ECW History might look. This set would follow the same format as the WWE and WCW releases with talking heads discussing each of the moments, accompanied with classic clips.

Would you like to see a WWE DVD/Blu-ray like this? It’s great to hear from you so please use the comments section below or tweet me @_MarkD_.
I’ve always loved your DVDs – you do great work. I’d like to suggest a new one for your consideration. WWE has done DVDs about WCW, AWA, WCCW and Mid-South. The next biggest territory which WWE owns the tape library for is CWF (Florida). Their 80s roster looks awesome and I bet Dusty would love to help put together some documentary commentary. What do you think?
just was wondering Fantasy Concept: OMG Vol. 3 – Top 50 Incidents in ECW History coming out in stores
Dude this is really awesome!
Also, how do you make your custom artworks?
Good job Mark! I was thinking of doing a fantasy concept myself on a possible ECW OMG set, but would never be able outdo you. Great job! I’d buy this instantly!
For @SRB and anyone else interested we have added a complete list of ECW DVDs produced by Pioneer Home Video and Delta Home Video in the United Kingdom, check out the list here: http://www.wrestlingdvdnews.com/?p=59543
Is there anything featuring 2 Cold Scorpio or the Eddie Guerrero/Dean Malenko rivalry?
Where do I send my money?
How about when Benoit breaks Sabu’s neck?
No ECW reuniting on WWF Raw on the night the Alliance formed?
#7. WWE Invasion
Great looking set. Missing a big one though…unless I just missed it on the list but should be top 5 and that’s the mass transit incident in revere,ma. that got them kicked off ppv .
I elected not to include that particular moment, it wasn’t really storyline and felt it would be somewhat like WWE including Droz’s injury on the first OMG set.
This is an awesome idea Mark and why WWE Home Video hasn’t hired you yet is beyond comprehension. Would also like to see an OMG V4 of the AWA, V5 of the WCCW and V6 of the NWA/JCP
AWA OMG might be really hard to put together, I’m not too sure there were 10 OMG moments, let alone 50! Lol
I would definitely buy this, and enjoy it much more than the WWE & WCW releases. I have seen most of the moments on the WWE one even before the release, and WCW was just so borderline ridiculous most of the time that when you say ‘OMG’, it is usually accompanied by a sigh & a palm to the face. During the Attitude Era, ECW was always seen as a #3 product, no matter how great its quality was. I shared that thought back then, so watching this would bring me back a few memories and open new experiences of ECW, 14 years later. Hopefully, and this is very likely, WWE decides to follow up with this plan.
Nice job, Mark. I’d buy this in a flash.
On a somewhat related note, ECW’s releases always confused me. Everything from what is considered a PPV, to what is a commercial release, and what is a random event seemed to get mixed together. It made it very hard to collect over the years. I’m still trying to sort my collection years later.
Anything that aired live on Pay-Per-View television is considered a PPV. Barely Legal was the very first PPV on April 13, 1997 and Guilty As Charged on January 7, 2001 was the last. Anything from Pioneer Video(such as Extreme Evolution or Path Of Destruction) and anything from Delta(the UK-based distributor) is considered a commercial release. Any tape that was sold directly from ECW(the white sleeve/HHG Corp. tapes) are considered “ECW Home Video”, although that term was never official. Anything sold by RF Video or Highspots are rereleases of previously released PPVs and home videos. Hope that helps.
My confusion comes when things like fan cams and house shows get titles that seem official. For example: South Philly Jam 1995, Sunshine State Slaughter 1995, ECW Fight the Power 1996, and ECW High Incident 1996. These sound like PPVs to me, but I know they were just events. Framing the entire ECW chronology seems impossible too. Each site I’ve ever been on that swears they are complete has totally different information than the next one.
That can be a tad confusing, I think I have a complete list of “proper” shows, I’ll see if I can dig it out for you.
Thanks Mark. This is also what I’m talking about: “Orgy of Violence” First time I’ve ever even heard of that one. Where are these events coming from? lol
That one wasn’t ever released as a full VHS. Many times the ECW Arena shows would have names and other times not, either way the matches were often used on Hardcore TV.
My only question is why is the High Incident on the list twice? You have it listed as number 23 and 6.
My bad, #6 shoulda been The Crucifixion. Sorted now.
PWInsider’s Q&A section mentioned this last week as a possibility for a future release.
This set is gold. Must be complete with the OMG track.
When does this come out? Amazon doesn’t have it listed. How did you get cover artwork so quickly?
it is a Fantasy set, as the topic reads.. it is not official and it is not going in to production, unfortunately as it is the case with all these great Fantasy cocepts from WDN’s Mark.. but, would be great to see it out there, absolutely.. along with a ECW unreleased vol. 3. 🙂
Surely the cover should be Vince as ECW Champion circa 2007.
Mark D nails it once again.
Add Dreamer/Beaulah vs RVD/Alfonso on this set i’d buy it.
A great concept and I would buy this set in an instant. Great moments, countdown, cover and matches. What more could an ECW fan want =)
yet another great fantasy set, Mark.. would buy this Bluray in a heartbeat.. OMG is my favorite of the Count Down franchise, and this would be a close competitor to be the best of the OMG series.
Would really love to see that come to life.. remember ECW unreleased vol. 2..when it was in fact released, it was very close to what you predicted, right Down to the order of matches..eg. Doink vs. 911 as the first Bluray exclusive. 🙂
Number 11 was great. I hated it when barley was illegal
lol Zing!
#24 Kimona’s Dance – June 22, 1996
This goin to be great!
Hey, im not all that in to ECW but i guess it would make a good part 3 of OMG!
Sounds sweet, let’s just hope that they have the brains to put a set out half as good as this one!
