Joe Martelli sent word that Best Buy have removed all upcoming WWE DVD and Blu-ray titles from sale on their website.
We can confirm the WWE releases for the remainder of 2011 have been taken off Bestbuy.com, which includes Stone Cold Steve Austin: The Bottom Line, The Best of King of the Ring and The Best PPV Matches of 2011.
The entries were removed from the site a few days ago and they have still not been added back as of right now.
Also worth noting, the DVD edition of Ladder Match 2: Crash and Burn was oddly never listed on the retail site. Instead only the Blu-ray was put up to order and this remains on the site now.
One of our readers emailed Best Buy customer service and received the following reply:
“I looked on our site and I do not see any WWE movies for Pre-Order. I cannot say why they were removed but you should be able to still buy them in the store when they are released. If they are not available at your store, you can order them online or the store can order them for you.”
We’ll be sure to let you know if there are any new developments.

Yes, they were all removed but TLC has now been added as it would be normally. I don’t get it.
I noticed today that TLC ppv (that will happen this december) is still listed as a preorder on bb.com but thats all. And even as an employee I agree it’s dumb that they stock so much of a crap title but not even a few wrestling dvds. Then again we’re at the mercy of whatever is shipped to us by the company.
Night of Champions wasn’t ever listed on the BB site. Just use amazon people, you’ll save on the product listing and can take advantage of free super saver shipping.
I see what your saying Eric, but my point is that they carry just about every movie ever made. Some will set there forever and never sell as if they stock it just to make sure they have it incase that one person who wants it comes in. So why not WWE for the same reason? Especially on the website.
Um, no offense, but that’s because they will sell 200 copies of True Blood or High School Musical but not 2 copies of OMG on BR. WWE blu rays obviously aren’t selling or they wouldn’t have cancelled all the PPVs on BR. I’m not making a judgment call; I’m just saying be realistic: there is a reason they stock what they stock, and it’s sure as hell not personal preference. Won’t affect me at all. That’s what amazon is for.
Makes me laugh. These idiots sell some of the stupidest movies ever put on film, but wont stock the store shelves, and now the damn website, with even just a couple WWE DVD/BluRays. I mean they will literally carry 200 copies of something like True Blood or High School Musical but cant have 2 f’n copies of OMG! on Blu Ray! WTF!!
The Best Buy around my area sucks in terms of stocking WWE DVDs/Blu-rays. They hardly have any, but they always get Wrestlemania though and they had the Randy Orton DVD/Blu-ray, but since then nothing.
Walmart, atleast around my area use to carry WWE Blu-rays (i think the last one they carried was John Cena experience). Since then, they haven’t stocked any, only the DVD versions. Looks as if the blu-rays sold so bad they had to stop carrying them.
I’m glad atleast i have an HMV near by, they always carry the new DVDs but usually 1 copy of the Blu-ray.

Infact I don’t think they ever had the bret-shawn set listed on bestbuy.com for preorder either. I wonder if there’s some sort of dispute going on or perhaps they have decided not to carry wrestling dvds anymore (we haven’t got any new tna dvds since lockdown 11 here either).
Night of Champions wasn’t ever listed on the BB site. And it wasn’t in at my store this week and I checked with the people in the other dept. who put out the videos and they didn’t have a shipment of it in. Oddly enough we do have the ladder match 2 dvd set in the sports dvd section but not on blu. I then went and purchased NOC along with the bret vs shawn blu on wweshop since I had some credit with them on a previous return. Looks like online ordering is the best bet for all of us now. Such a shame.
Eh, I’ve been buying my dvds almost exclusively on Amazon for some time now. The wrestling section at my local Best Buys have all gotten considerably smaller in the last few years, so much so that it isn’t worth going there and hoping they have what I’m looking for.
Yeh they are no longer even bringing in the new WWE dvds and blu rays… i went to buy Night of Champions this week and they didnt have it.. they used to be the best when it came to WWE releases… I just pre order everything from Amazon now… no point in running around looking for WWE releases in stores.
It’s crazy to me that the days of running down to your local DVD or record shop to pick up a new release (wrestling or not) are truly over. Just because theyre were removed from the site that really doesnt mean too much and I doubt that overnight Best Buy is completely going away with their wrestling DVD section. However, this may be a taste of things to come. I personally go with FYE and I always have. Compared to Best Buy, they actually release their stuff on the advertised date, have store exclusives and have better prices. Best Buy is too big and too corporate and it ignores the consumer, who keeps them in business. FYE is a smaller store that operates on a smaller scale. If you walk into FYE and ask about a WWE DVD that’s not on the shelf it’s because they dont have it or dont carry it. If you ask Best Buy why it’s not on the shelf it’s because it should’ve been released last week and is in a box in the back that’s too heavy to lift.
Dammit. The only store I have around me that sells WWE blurays(recent releases anyway) is best buy. Target has nothing and my Walmart only has select dvds. Gonna have to go the amazon route.
Best buy has a really awful selection anyways, I gave up on them months ago
Hope not! I’m planning to buy Bret vs. Shawn on Blu-ray in store on Tuesday!
