The above pic (thanks to @Franchise23 on Twitter) shows the “FYE Exclusive” version of WWE’s Epic Journey of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, released this week. It confirms what we reported that the store exclusive is a 2-Pack with WrestleMania 27 DVD (2-Disc) attached.
The latest WWE Tagged Classics DVD, WWF Hardy Boyz Leap of Faith & Lita: It Just Feels Right, is now in stock exclusively over here.
A few site readers noticed recently that Owen Hart was been removed from the artwork of Brawl in the Family & Wrestling Grudge Matches Tagged Classics DVD (available to buy here).
This will most likely have been WWE’s call because of recent disputes over using Owen Hart’s likeness to in any way promote DVD’s.
They also edited out Jeff Jarrett and Chyna from the Rebellion 1999 tagged classic cover.
so owen hart has become the 2nd chris benoit, obviously in completely different circumstances.
Yet they don’t have to remove Owen Hart’s image from the King of the Ring 1994 or Summerslam 1994 Tagged Classics covers, because they’re already released? I don’t understand that. Surely they would have to re-release those with modified covers so that absolutely nothing on Silver Vision’s website bore his image.
This is a bit of a double-standard, the same as wiping Benoit from history on any new releases, yet still making money off of say, the Backlash 2004/Summerslam 2004 PPV DVDs that still bear his image on their covers on SilverVision.co.uk. It’s weird. I know they were released PRIOR to the tragedy, but if you’re allowed to still show him in that way, you may as well include him on new releases too. Similar double-standards going on for Owen here too, deleting him from Brawl in the Family, yet they leave him on the covers of KotR 94 and SS94 on the site just to save themselves the bother of a re-release. Seems they only tweak things when they can be bothered, rather than due to legal reasons.
Does anyone know if the rock fye blu ray come with the wrestlemania dvd? Thanks.
@ SRB
There are 11 matches on the Blu-ray which includes the Survivor Series 2011 matches.
The match with HHH is the Summerslam 98 match on disc 2…probably a misprint.
Funnily enough, with Owen removed from the cover, so is the only tenuous link to the title ‘Brawl in the Family’, lol.
On the Rock DVD, why is the Raw match with HHH printed on disc 2 but the match is nowhere to be found? WWE misprint? Can anyone shed some light? The back says 11 matches, but theres 10
The cover of the DVD without Owen is very noticeable.
@ Charlie
The Tagged Classics are locked to region 2 so it won’t work on North American players unless they’re region free.
Definitely getting the blu ray now. I own every match I cared about from wrestlemania 27 on separate sets.
Strangely enough without Owen on the cover you are left with the 2000 nWo. I think that was what Russo was getting at with the ‘band is back together’ catchphrase. But I really liked the name ‘Brawl in the Family’. I remember buying this on VHS and being very excited to see the Bret vs. Owen match.
Owens wife is ruining Owens legacy for all his fans around the world. Instead of us all remembering owen for all his accomplishments, our last memories of him are gonna be him falling to his death.
this may be a dumb question, but Im new here. Do these DVDs work on US DVD&blu ray players?
Dissapointed the Raw Elimination Chamber debate isnt on here
so I take it that the blu ray version of the rocks dvd doesn’t come with the wrestlemania dvd?.
Even Silvervision are taking no chances when it comes to Owen…
Is it me or does Daniel Bryan get the only special feature interview on nearly every release?
