i like this dvd idea i hope that miz/morrison fca wwe title from 2011 is on there and i hope chody rhodes vs rey mysterio fca match from extreme rules 11 is on the dvd

  2. Gary says:

I would love to see a bunch of old school matches from the 70, and 80s on dvd. Plus a best of WWE all star and championship wrestling from those days as well as MSG, Philadelphia Spectrum etc.

  3. SRB says:

How about a Repo Man anthology?

  4. Anonymous says:

wat about the best tables matches

  5. Vincenzzzzzo says:

    @RabidHeat

Honestly… I read the first sentence of your post directed toward me, and I just stopped reading. More crying I just don’t wanna hear. So, you get angry with me because I have an opion on your opinion?!?! LOL ….ok then.

  6. Vincenzzzzzo says:

    @Harry Faversham

If McMahon offered me a “horse shit sandwich” I would simply and politely say “no thank you”, keep it moving and simply wait until he wanted to hand out Skittles. I wouldn’t whine and cry like a baby bitch.

  7. Supersonic says:

This is gonna HAVE to be a hardcore/gimmick match set like TNA’s Ultimate Matches.

The reason – here are all of the WWE/WCW non-Benoit Falls Count Anywhere matches rated *** or more by Meltzer:

1/21/92 Cactus Jack vs. Van Hammer (Falls Count Anywhere) ***1/2
6/20/92 Sting vs. Cactus Jack (Falls Count Anywhere) ****1/2
2/21/93 Cactus Jack vs. Paul Orndorff (Falls Count Anywhere) ****
5/4/98 Mick Foley vs. Terry Funk (Falls Count Anywhere) ****
4/18/04 Randy Orton vs. Mick Foley (Falls Count Anywhere Street Fight) ****1/2
10/9/06 Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero (Falls Count Anywhere) ***1/4

Yeah, just SIX of them, FIVE including Mick Foley.

  8. Anonymous says:

I didnt think there were many falls count anywhere matches

  9. jason says:

@vince. Its ppls opinions if they dislike a concept or not. Why do you always expect to see everything you want on the comment board. Let people hate or love it, its our option. Next, I think it could be good this disc, if their is some rarities or blasts from the past

  10. Shacmasta says:

I’m not too excited about this one but I’ll be picking it up. After the match listings i’ll probably change my mind on my level of excitement. Hopefully matches i have yet to see or don’t own on other dvd’s. I wonder if a stipulations dvd was a better way to go. From Coal Miners Glove match to Loser leaves town.

  11. NWO 4 Life says:

Being the NWO fan I am, I would totally buy it first day whenever it comes out, NWO before it was NWO Wolfpack vs nWo White and Black was the best taking over WCW.

  12. Harry Faversham says:

I’ve heard Mick Foley will be hosting this DVD, which makes it a little more appealing.

  13. HHHfan1999 says:

Ehhh… I don’t think it will be bad if they put the right matches in it.

  14. George Schire says:

    Sounds Great!!!!

Be sure to pike up my my book if you haven’t already.

  15. Jesus Lopez says:

I am not too sure about this theme. It sounds like WWE is just milking money out of matches that I am sure are already a part of other dvd compilations.

  16. Marty says:

Great point, Simon. Hopefully it isn’t a sign of the future of any Greatest Rivalries sets and more of a wake up call to the WWE that Montreal doesn’t draw interest anymore. (Really, WrestleMania XXVI should’ve taught them that anyway.)

  17. NickP says:

would have preferred a I Quit match comp.. or a last man standing, but who knows, maybe some WCW and ECW classics will make the cut

  18. Simon says:

The fact that OMG! outsold the Michaels vs. Hart rivalries DVD indicates what type of set WWE will be looking to release in the future – regrettably.

  19. Marty says:

Re: Back in Black. That set was out before the WWE, in my opinion, truly realized their potential with the DVD sets they release. I’d say the WWE started realizing what they could do with the first Hogan set that came out, then truly realized their potential with The Ultimate Ric Flair Collection, which I still feel is the standard to what their sets should be measured by.

  20. Marty says:

I don’t want to pile on Vincenzzzzzo too much, as I generally like the guy as a poster here, but the old “If you don’t like it, then stop watching/don’t buy” bit has existed for ages on the internet. In fact, the problem with wrestling is that people actually took that advice. That’s why wrestling’s audiences are down. What’s worse for wrestling: the fan who cares so much that he/she takes the time to complain about something, or the fan who doesn’t care, doesn’t complain and thus stops watching? I don’t think wrestling, and a lot of its own fanbase, really have understood that all these years.

As for Andre, you can easily make him a 3-disc set. Besides his aura, he comes from the days of the travelling wrestler who hit many territories. I’m certain Vince has footage of him in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Minnesota, Georgia, Florida, etc. Maybe he can track down some Japan footage too. Call me crazy as well, but I loved Andre, even when he was well past his prime. Talk about a guy who, even with his own limitations, made every move matter. I’d actually like to relive the Colossal Connection’s title win on DVD, and even things like his rejection of Bobby Heenan bringing him back to the family. So many memories of the guy.

  21. Harry Faversham says:

I wouldnt dispute most of that. It got a bit messy with the nWo but I would say there were enough good things to fill 3 discs very easily. But I’m sure that it would sell really well even now, whereas I can’t see that with this idea. With Andre, Bulldog and Rude I’m not as sure they would sell, but I think they deserve it.

  22. Whispers says:

@SRB I suppose some of your points on the Andre reotrospective are valid… As much as I respect what he did for the industry I would think a 3 disc set may be hard to fill unless you go into the library of older footage as his most notable matches were generally shorter in length due to his obvious inabilities work rate wise… Maybe if you included some of the battle royals he won to add some length but ultimately I would love a stand alone Battle Royal DVD set.

    @SRB/Harry

at the end of the day the NWO was only really good when it was the smaller group… Once they started watering it down and splitting into side groups it became ridiculous…

At the end of it the list of who wasn’t a member of the NWO in WCW at one point would actually be shorter then who was in it…

I could see a possible 2 disc set for this but really the impact the NWO had was only probably a year to a year and half at best… the remaining time was crap… and their WWF/E run was what it was…. Nothing to note except the Rock/Hogan matchup…

  23. Harry Faversham says:

    Agreed SRB.

Andre wrestled in so many places that he would make amazing use of the tape libraries. He was one of the only really big names in wrestling and made quite a few films. He was an unparalleled legend which is a word thats thrown around all the time now. But he deserves more than putting an old tape onto DVD. That tape didnt do him justice and its out of print now anyway.

I want a British Bulldog(s) DVD too. The old coliseum video tape on them was awesome but again I think a new and definitive retrospective is deserved.

Regarding ‘Back in Black’, that was never a serious attempt at an nWO retrospective. It was just made to cash in on / promote their wwe run. It barely covered any of the nWo’s history. You get about 20 mins into it and it then seems more about the rock laying the smack down on them etc. That DVD is also out of print (but on tagged classics in the UK). A definitive nWo set is an obvious one to do, but because its not Vince’s baby it hasnt happened. We have 3 D-generation X DVD’s instead. Nothing against DX but its a disproportionate view on history to say the least.

Releases like this one are likely to end up being viewed as pointless and annoying by taking up a slot for what might have been. I think its such a bad concept that it will probably get cancelled before it get much further like so many others have. Personally I care more about wrestling history than owning every DVD that gets released for the sake of it.

  24. SRB says:

@Whispers. Yes, I am aware of the 60minute Andre “set”. Let’s honor the big guy by giving him a 3 disc. After feuds with Hogan, Warrior, Jake Roberts, John Studd, and Jim Duggan I think 3 discs would work fine. Plus, Andre was the first and last of his kind, he deserves it. And yes, I have the 3 hour NWO DVD and it does a great job, but I would like WWE to release an NWO history 3 disc. Let’s be honest, NWO literally took over wrestling for a long time. I would say you can find 3 discs of material there.

  25. SRB says:

I cant believe people are hoping that Last Man Standing matches are going to be on this set. When a wrestler wins a falls count anywhere match they win by pinfall and usually nothing else, hence the name of the match “FALLS count anywhere.” A last man standing match is won by a 10 count and nothing else, a ten count is not a pinfall. These are 2 completely different matches with 2 completely different ways of winning. Hoping a last man standing match is on a falls count anywhere set is like me hoping for a royal rumble match on the clash of the champions set. I’m going to predict this title will change, i really cant see WWE releasing a set that lacks so much substance. Releasing a 3 disc brother love show set makes more sense. If they do release this they better stick to the title – falls count anywhere. Don’t throw in I quit, last man standing or ladder matches and expect me not to notice. WWE should know better than to insult our intelligence.

  26. Whispers says:

@SRB… There is an NWO DVD called back in black… hard to find but out there…

There is an Andre the giant DVD which actually sells on shopzone for $5.09… and really I don’t think there are enough quality Andre matches for a longer set…

Why doesn’t anyone recommend a Bulldogs DVD… Davey Bot smith was good but the Bulldogs as a team were better

I’ll make judgement on this when it comes out and the matches are announced

  27. RabidHeat says:

@Vincenzzzzzo, I think the people who’ve offered their critique (which is kinda the point of being able to leave comments on the site, to give your views), aren’t saying that they have to purchase the set; we’re not that dense. It’s more a case of it being a “wasted spot” in the schedule, and that now we will have to wait longer for a set with real substance or that is based around something that most of us would want more than the ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ set. If we all just sat around saying “if you don’t like it, don’t buy it”, it would kind of render the idea of a discussion forum/site redundant.

Either way, it’s only our opinion…sheesh, sorry for breathing!

  28. Harry Faversham says:

Vincenzzzzzzo, if you were hungry and Vince McMahon gave you a horse shit sandwhich, when you knew he had a packet of skittles in his pocket, would you eat it or ask for something else? Don’t complain about complaints when THIS is the forum for people to say what they think about wwe dvd releases, complaints or otherwise. If I hear one more complaint about people complaining I am going to complain. This is a discussion mate so other people’s opinions are valid and not because I said so and regardless of whether you say otherwise. If you are sick of reading it, then don’t read it. Its really that simple. It doesn’t make you cool, even if it makes you feel very important and warm inside.

  29. Isrs4life says:

I hope this one features plenty of Last Man Standing matches but hopefully it wont be a train wreck, just hope the matches are well
    picked.

  30. Anonymous says:

I hope to see some great matches like the Randy Savage vs Crush at wrestlemania 10 and many others!

  31. Anonymous says:

    More great news,keep it coming!

  32. xxx_truth_xxx says:

Personally I am excited for this set. Back in the 1990’s this match had some awesome incarnations. Cactus Jack vs. Van Hammer from one of the Clash of the Champions, Cactus Jack vs. Sting at Beach Blast 1992, Jack vs. HHH on Raw from 1997 (Jack’s return), Jack vs. Funk on Raw, Savage vs. DDP during several times in 1997 in WCW.. Really think this could be a fun release.

  33. Vincenzzzzzo says:

I read only a few of these replies, then stopped dead in my tracks. I’m so sick and tired of listening to complaining from everyone.

If you don’t like the set, don’t buy and keep moving on. My favorite replies thus far, were…. “Come one, WWE, give us something good to buy. Oh, I can’t wait for Clash of the Champions and the ECW set”.

Well, there you go. WWE is giving you something good to buy, no?

You people act like this will be the last release in the WWE Home Video library.

  34. RabidHeat says:

@Marty, I think you’re right, this sounds like a set that will probably get pulled once WWE does their marketing research or visits sites like this and sees the general opinion, just like when past releases have been pulled.

@SRB, you are totally right. Less discs, more discernable and high quality content. I’m sick of everything being an “anthology”. Lately I just feel like I’m paying £17.99 for one disc that I actually want, and two discs of previously released, edited/blurred and ratio barred rubbish. Well, I’m not paying for it, because I don’t buy them anymore for those reasons.

With bio/doc DVDs I think the 2-disc Jake/Mr Perfect format is the way to go.

  35. Marty says:

Also wanted to add my praise for the Morrison DVD. Is it the greatest set they’ve done? No. But it’s a nice little set done for (at the time) a current superstar on the rise, in the same lines as Cena’s first set or Trish’s set.

  36. SRB says:

To follow up on my last comment, I actually liked when WWE did matches ONLY for coliseum video in the old days and then WWE would release them as “Spring Explosion” or “Around the World” or whatever the titles were. My favorite release was the Razor Ramon VHS, 2 hours of nothing but the bad guy and most of the matches were only for Coliseum Video. WWE could do that now and yes I know those are now called PPVs, but the new concepts just are not working and the direction the home media has gone into just doesnt work. It is not interesting one bit. You didnt end up with repeats on coliseum video and the matches were new, rare and unpredictable. Now we get 3 disc sets of matches we already have and even when the concepts sound interesting they fail pretty hard. And WWE doesnt even put hard work into the sets either, we get side bars, horrible repeats and crappy match selections. I’d rather WWE release 1 disc sets, 3 hours, for around ten dollars and give them random titles like the old days. Whats been going on lately just isn’t good and isnt worth buying. Someone mentioned the 1 disc Morrison set. That is exactly what I’m talking about. That DVD is great, we see Morisson out of the ring, training and being interviewed and then we get some rare matches from ECW and only 1 or 2 PPV matches and it came in at over 3 hours. Youre telling me they cant release a 1 or 2 disc Rick Rude DVD? Brush up WWE

  37. steven says:

Only “Great” ones that come to mind for me anywhere Raw 97 Cactus Jack vs HHH. Backlash 2004 Cactus Jack vs Orton but werent they street fight and Hardcore match respectively? Definetely need to see the match listing to make a final decision.

  38. Marty says:

It’s Amazon, which means I’m going to wait until other sites (such as Silvervision) publish something before I believe this DVD becomes a reality.

It’s not that there haven’t been any good FCA matches, because there have been. I think the concept is too narrow, though. They should simply have a title like “Wrestling’s Greatest Brawls”. That’ll enable them to use matches from the WWE (HHH-Y2J LMS, for example), WCW, JCP, AWA (that Rockers-Rose/Somers famous one hasn’t been used since the HBK From The Vault set), WCCW (lots of Von Erich-Freebirds matches to choose from), ECW, among others.

  39. SRB says:

I remember a great falls count anywhere match when… or the time… or how about…. you know what, i cant think of any! Give me a break.. all of the stipulations and we end up with the worst of them all.. falls count anywhere??? who cares? How about a best of the I quit or last man standing matches? That’s a compilation I’d love to see. I love those matches because you never really knew how they were going to end. With falls count anywhere now i have to watch Shane McMahon fly around for 6 hours and 45 minutes like hes on a trampoline. where are the sets on Rick Rude, British Bulldog, Million Dollar Man, Andre The Giant and NWO??? For goodness sakes, I’d take a 50 greatest botches set over this.

The ONLY redeeming factor this set has IMO is that many falls count anywhere matches were on raw or SD, so we may get a lot of stuff not released on other sets as of yet

  40. Lemo says:

Plz Cactus vs Vader from HH 93

  41. Steve says:

Waste! I’m sure it will turn into a set of 12 matches 11 being repeats from other sets. They truly just don’t get it anymore. What’s next? “The best of the WCW hardcore title?”

  42. oldschool says:

any info on the triple dvd set?

  43. scsa says:

Not so excited 🙁 Whats happening with the ‘Greatest Rivlaries’ & the ‘Triple H set’ ?

  44. albertzshearer says:

not that excited about this will see what the match listings bring up ?

  45. RabidHeat says:

I think anybody on here who tells us not to complain about this seriously needs to get their head examined. Seriously, ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ is NOT a match stipulation that many people really care about.

When does anybody ever rave about all the greatest ‘Falls Count Anywhere’ matches in WWE history? Oh, there’ve been a few, I know, maybe several, I mean I loved the Savage/Crush match as a kid, but come on.

I’m not gonna say let’s have a British Bulldog or Ted DiBiase DVD INSTEAD of this, because that’s a completely different concept and the two aren’t linked. But seriously, an anthology of a more interesting stipulation match such as War Games, the WWE Hardcore 24/7 division, Money in the Bank, Traditional Survivor Series matches or even Last Man Standing/Submission Matches would be much better than this!

  46. nightmare says:

Sounds like a wast of time I would much rather see the Stone cold vs Vince rival instead .Or a Shane McMahon dvd because say what you will about him he had some amazing matches .The best one ever was the one vs Kurt Angel which I have and was on the OMG dvd .

  47. Roger Palmer says:

Doesn’t seem a groundbreaking theme, but I suppose they have a huge pile of these matches in their library, so why not churn out another one? But yeah I’d agree that it All comes down to the match listings.

  48. Harry Faversham says:

Bloody terrible concept. Maybe if they re-named it and called it No Holds barred it would be better and have better scope for matches, but come on. As always the match list will be what makes the decision for me, so we’ll see but i think its unlikely that this will be any good.

  49. Mark D says:

Mixed feelings on this one. I don’t know how I feel – guess once we get the content I’ll decide which side of the fence I’m on.

@Indyfan No your not the only one, I loved the JoMo set aswell. It had great matches with Punk, Bourne and Rey (to name 3). The segments were very good as well – the whole thing kinda reminded me of an old CHV release. IMO they should look to more releases like this for current talent aimed at the younger audience, maybe they’d do well sales wise 🙂

  50. Trent says:

I don’t see how you guys can be so negative about the DVD, I mean at least wait for the matches to be released before you start complaining. Matthew I agree I have been wanting a battle royal DVD also I think a stable/faction DVD would be cool too. An Ironman match wouldn’t be that good because there haven’t been that many of those matches I can only think of 3 (Shawn vs Bret, Rock vs Triple H, & Lesnar v.s. Angle) I think a I quit or Last Man Standing one would be good.

  51. Indyfan says:

Also am i the only one who liked the Morrison dvd? It had great matches on it.

And i want a CW history dvd as well.

  52. Indyfan says:

ummmmm.Ok. They should of made a dvd themed so they can included matches like this and Jericho vs HHH from Fully Loaded 2000. I will have to see the match listing before i can decide. I would of much rather something else. I wish they put out a dvd called amazing matches that haven’t been on a dvd set yet.

  53. Adam says:

    What an absolute crap idea.

Who the hell made this up and thinks this is gonna sell? I gaurantee it’ll be one of the worst releases ever.

  54. kyle willard says:

This is gonna be sh!t. seriously? wwe would rather put out a falls count anywhere dvd rather than a rick rude dvd, british bulldog dvd, or a mick foley dvd? REALLY! such crap. At least choose a different match like i quit, ironman, something other than falls count anywhere. This is gonna be worse than morrisons dvd. i do agree with derick though, if there are some hardcore title matches, it might be good, but they should just make it history of the hardcore title! They need more history dvds. History of the US title, Cruiserweight, Tag title, come on wwe give us something worth buying. at least the clash dvd and the ecw dvd will be good

  55. Rocko says:

Not to quote the Miz but really? A War Games set is nothing but a fan dream and THIS is getting released? I can think of a dozen potential dvd sets that would be better than this.

  56. Derick says:

Could be good if they include some awesome WWF Hardcore Title Matches.

  57. Vincenzzzzzo says:

DVD sounds good. Thanks for the info.

  58. Brad Attitude says:

if wwe does release this, i hope the first falls count anywhere matche gets added onto the set: Randy Savage vs Crush from WrestleMania X. That should have been added onto the Macho Man’s dvd set a few years ago over some of the other crap matches that got thrown on.

If the match listing to this is good, I may get it but can’t for sure I will at the moment.

  59. kevin lester says:

Can u say “grasping at straws”?? C’mon wwe, stop releasing shit like this & give us something worth our money!! Like the clash of champions set……now that’s worth lining up for.

  60. David Kerr says:

That’s not an impressive DVD theme in my opinion. How many great “Falls Count Anywhere” Matches can you name off the top of your head?

  61. neverAcquiesce says:

This gets released? THIS?! Easy pass here.

  62. FUCK says:

    FIRST!

  63. matthew S says:

I want a battle royal dvd set with the 3 ring, 2 ring battle royals included, as far as falls count anywhere as long as it has Terry Funk vs Chris Candido from I think WCW Thunder when Funk got kicked by the horse I will get it.

  64. AJ says:

Although it was a parking lot brawl, Cena vs JBL from the Bash in 08 would have to be up there. I’m really wondering the matches on this dvd. Maybe the boiler room brawl. I’d love to see some classic raw matches on this dvd. And maybe some of those great hardcore matches with Crash Holly
