Latest on No Holds Barred DVD, WrestleMania 28 Pulled, Blu-Ray Issues

April 11, 2012 by Daniel Bee

– The WWE Studios release of No Holds Barred will be via DVD format only. This one will be available on July 3rd from all stores and retail sites, not only Walmart.

When world wrestling champion RIP THOMAS (Hulk Hogan) refuses to join a competing network, an evil executive creates a new program, “The Battle of the Tough Guys,” where rules don’t exist and men engage in an all-out brawl for money. After a murdering ex-convict by the name of ZEUS (Tom “Tiny” Lister) comes out on top as the toughest man, an ultimate title match with RIP is the TV network’s best chance for big ratings. But when Rip refuses the challenge and his brother is roughed-up as a consequence, the world champion has no choice but to teach Zeus a lesson in a final No Holds Barred fight to the finish.

– Earlier today product listings for WrestleMania 28, Best of Clash of the Champions, and ECW Unreleased were removed from Silvervision.co.uk – the European WWE DVD distributor.

Silver Vision made the following announcement on their Facebook page:

Unfortunately we have had to remove WrestleMania 28, The Best of WCW Clash of the Champions and ECW Unreleased Vol 1 from the website for the time being. At this point I have no more information and should you require a refund then please contact customer services on info@silvervision.co.uk or 020 8292 4875. We apologise for any inconvenience

We have no explanation for this, nor any further details. Silver Vision are the only ones who can update on it. We expect it’s just a technicality of some sort and that the three titles will be re-listed for sale soon. Refunds are available in this period of uncertainty.

– If you’re attending the upcoming UK tapings of Raw and Smackdown in the O2 arena, Silvervision.co.uk can get your face on a WWE DVD cover!

The event is in conjunction with Asda. There is a WWE DVD promotion running at Asda stores in the UK right now. Included are the likes of Rey Mysterio: Life of a Masked Man, WrestleMania 26, WrestleMania 27, Best of Raw 2010, Survivor Series 2010, and Over the Limit 2011 priced from £5 to £7 (Thanks to Evan McFarlane for passing that along).

WWE TLC 2011 Blu-Ray CM Punk

– Bad news for Blu-ray importers, as several of our readers sent word that the latest European exclusive WWE TLC 2011 Blu-ray disc is not working on North American players.

Previously, since SummerSlam 2011, every pay-per-view BD release had been compatible. The trend looks to be over.

– Off the heels of the End of an Era WM28 Hell in a Cell match, WWE has ‘re-released’ the Hell in a Cell DVD gift set, with Undertaker figurine. It’s shipping now at Amazon over here.

Previously this was put out as an FYE exclusive, along with a Kane version. Both were said to be limited edition at the time.

You Think You Know Me? The Story of Edge was released on DVD and Blu-ray this week to the United States. Get your copy by clicking here.

    Hi Vince

Unfortunately we do not have any information at the moment.

    Regards

  3. Daniel says:

I hope to buy Wrestlemania 28 and the nexts PPV on Silvervision.uk.com .

WWE and Silver Vision are ever partners from the DVD ?

  4. Thomas says:

don’t understand why WrestleMania XXVIII dvd from Silver Vision has been removed from their website

  5. legend_killer says:

My guess is that WWE found out that Silver Vision are releasing (or have been releasing) blu rays that are region free (which I have no problem with at all, as I am a blu ray fan). However, by doing so, they violate their license agreement, according to which they are only allowed to serve Europe (region B). They may now be sanctioned for this by WWE.

    • SAFWrestling says:

I think the reason has got to do with that they violated the agreement now which has now been made a problem for UK/Europe WWE are going to make Sure that Future UK/Europe Exclusive Blu-rays dont play in America So the Titles Will be back up.

  6. Richard says:

This has me worried. I already had ECW Unreleased Vol. 1 pre-ordered on blu-ray. Hope it doesn’t affect release.

  7. AJ says:

Do you think the new US distributor has anything to do with the new titles, since every title after the Edge DVD will likely fall under the new company

    • Daniel Bee says:

I think they’ve been scheduled well in advance.

If you’re talking about the three titles going down at Silver Vision, I assume that’s an issue for themselves in Europe only.

  8. Anonymous says:

Just watched the Edge DVD; AWESOME! Don’t delay, buy today!

  9. Thanks for the mention 🙂

  10. Anonymous says:

I really hope this is a joke for the sake of fans!I want to buy Wrestlemania 28,Wcw clash of the champions and the ecw dvd!

  11. Mark D says:

I do think it’s very interesting that refunds are being offered, as these were pre-orders, it wasn’t like people paid expecting the sets to ship the next week.

Also all of these sets were scheduled for release June, weren’t they – could it be an issue from May onwards?

    Guess only time will tell…

  12. Geolink says:

I guess Silver Vision found out about the Blu-ray’s being able to work on Region 1 players.

  13. tick317 says:

I wonder why the have all been pulled and are offering refunds? If they are offering refunds does that mean they aren’t going to sell them? Doesn’t make sense?

    • straightedge47 says:

Unlikely since they are offering refunds to those who want them. If the DVDs were cancelled for good the ywouldn’t offer refunds, they’de give them to everyone who ordered automatically.

  14. WWEfan says:

The Undertaker “figure” as you call it is actually a bust, and is worth the price of the set. It’s very nicely done, I wish WWE put out more product like this.

    • Daniel Bee says:

I know it’s a bust. I have that, and the Kane one too. In the last article about the Amazon product I called it a bust… if you’re being that picky.

  15. No Holds barred better have the cage match as an extra!

  16. Chris says:

That really sucks about the Blu-rays not playing on North American players anymore. Very unfortunate!

  17. Dan Mader says:

Does anyone else want the ppv event of no holds barred included on the dvd?

    Mader111’s dvd updates on youtube

    • Harry Faversham says:

I’d love it, but when it suits them wwe likes to ignore wrestling and say they are an ‘entertainment’ company. The thing is though, they are not often very good at things outside of wrestling. This is the only wwe film I have ever enjoyed and I was about six when I saw it last. I always liked Zeus but his ring work hasnt stood the test of time. The film should still be good fun though.

  18. Daniel Bee says:

Meant to write SummerSlam 2011 Blu-ray in the article, not Survivor Series.
