WM25 undertaker vs shawn match should be in this dvd

  6. jason says:

Dvd sucked. I really hate disc 1 the scenes were to quick and that hip hop-like “omg” tune was annoying. I bought this for angle v shane basically

  7. Anonymous says:

    Ah! Men

  8. Anonymous says:

i thought jeff hardy had the highest fall dumb thought

  9. Anonymous says:

They brawled outside of the ring and up into the rest of the building. Nothing special.

  10. Steven says:

What happened on the Triple H vs Undertaker match from Shotgun Saturday Night to make this list?

  11. Nate says:

Cant wait 4 that dvd looks awesome 😀

  12. Steven says:

I’m a little surprised they didn’t put the Kliq’s last moment together in WWE at MSG on here because all the behind the scenes people got pissed at that and it was like Shocking because Nash and Hall was leaving for WCW.

  13. Brandon B says:

Glad they added the Stone Cold and Booker T encounter in the grocery store. That is one of my all time favorite moments.

  14. Thomas says:

Looking forward the the DVD personally I find a bunch of reasons for someone that has a dilemma to buy it first edge vs Mick foley, Kurt angle vs Shane McMahon another classic match there must watch IMO,Tlc match wm 17 a lot of ppl love this personally for me the match was good but still worth watching and last but not least diesel vs hbk haven’t seen it yet but already there are a lot of positive comments for this match so it’s probably good !

  15. Brett Mix says:

Yes the last poster is right. I remember that as if it were yesterday. It was techincally the second episode of Smackdown! as the first aired in April of 1999 with the main event of Taker and HHH vs Austin and Rock (Has 4 million views plus on youtube) with red ropes. However as a regular weekly program this HHH vs Rock with HBK as ref match with blue ropes was the 2nd program of SD ever. (1st as a weekly episode) As for the HHH-Rock Ironman, in my next review I am touching that match, stay tuned…

  16. Anonymous says:

@SRB- that 2000 Rock/HHH Iron Man match wasn’t the only time HBK & the Rock were in the ring together. HBK was also the ref for another Rock/HHH match: the main event of the 1st Smackdown, in which HBK superkicked the Rock to give Hunter the win.

  17. Anonymous says:

This set seems very reliant on video clips, which isnt an entirely bad thing if they are included un-edited, what I dont want to see is recaps of the moments discussed by the wrestlers V/O style – which is what we will most likely get. This set is worth getting for at least two and possibly even three reasons, reason 1 & 2 Diesel vs. “Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels – WWF CHAMPIONSHIP (WWF IN YOUR HOUSE 7 – 04/28/1996) ***** & Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon – Street Fight (WWF KING OF THE RING – 06/24/2001) ****1/4. Reason 3 would be if they included all the clips un-edited.

  18. Anonymous says:

I swear they have so many cool box sets they can put out but they continue to put out crap. Between this and the creates superstars of the twenty first century I’m not sure what is worse. How bout we put out IYH box set and finish Survivor Series! Hell start putting out WCW box sets. That would make too much sense though considering the two WCW DVD’s are amongst the highest selling DVD’s of all time. No instead let’s put out another Rey Mysterio DVD with the bulk of the matches being from WWE which are on 100 other friggin DVD’s. They just hate to put other companies over. It’s like the fact that on the Nitro DVD we have all matches of DDP, Kidman, Mysterio & Jerocho. I mean wtf impact did Billy Kidman have on The legacy of nitro. Oh but he is a trainer now in FCW so we should highlight him on the DVD; please!

  19. LP1 says:

And honestly, when WWE puts out a DVD that already has matches you other DVD sets, you should be happy. It’s one less DVD you have to buy and money saved. Why would you buy another DVD if it already has all matches you already have? Just skip it and wait for the next one. It’s dumb to get upset over it. Unless you’re a collector who owns every DVD, in which case it shouldn’t matter what content is on the DVD because if you’re a completist you’re gonna buy the DVD no matter what.

  20. LP1 says:

Some of you really need to stop with all the “these matches have been on DVD before” nonsense. If WWE were to put out “greatest moments” DVD’s without reusing matches, there’d be no more DVD’s!

As for what should and shouldn’t be on this DVD set, the name of this DVD isn’t the “most important” or “the greatest” or the “most defining” moments in WWE history. It’s the most shocking moments. Moments where you’re watching TV and something happens where you jump out of your chair and go “Holy sh*t!”

In response to SRB, the purchase of WCW was not one of those moments. Someone earlier posted about how WWF.com at the time posted on the front page of their website that they bought WCW. That’s not a leak or a spoiler. That’s WWE breaking their own news. Friday March 23, 2001 when people logged on to WWF.com and saw the big words “WWF Purchases WCW” was the “shocking moment”. 3 days later it wasn’t shocking anymore. Was it still a major story? Absolutely. One of the biggest stories of all time. But the initial shock factor was gone. In fact, even before Friday March 23, 2001, Vince McMahon was on the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday March 21, 2001 and broke the news there by saying “In all likelihood we now own WCW.”

Mankind getting thrown off the Cell fits the criteria of what this DVD is perfectly. A moment where you jump out of your seat and say “Holy sh*t” … or OMG for the PG people.

  21. Vincenzzzzzo says:

Alan, when I watched Monday Night RAW in march 2001 and saw shane mcmahon on nitro… my exact thought was OMG! So yeah, it deserves to be on the dvd for sure!

  22. crashspike says:

again i really have to question who is picking the content for these dvds. they have a BILLION hours of content and this is the BEST they could come up with?! I mean the undertaker vs Mankind match has been on so many releases that it is sickening. I am getting rather frustrated by this. but hey at least we all have ANOTHER Rey Rey dvd to look forward to. BOOYAKA BOOYAKA…meh.

  23. SRB says:

@Alan I totally hear what you mean. But, just because the moment was leaked and spoiled it really didn’t take any shock value away for me personally. It didnt matter what i read on the internet or what was streamed online. The purchase was played out on TV as a storyline for months (Around March – November of 2001) I still recall hearing the news and being shocked for the weeks to come when I saw guys like DDP, Kidman and Kanyon show up on Raw and be used in storylines. Then over the years we had NWO in WWE, Goldberg, Flair and from that purchase we still have guys on the current roster like Mysterio. Finally, i feel the WCW purchase also gave birth to TNA in a way. Guys like Sting and Jarrett really didnt want to come to WWE and TNA arriving in 2002 made total sense. I remember being 18 years old at the time of the WCW purchase and to see guys on WWE TV was an amazing sight and im glad i live in a generation where i got to see it. All i know is that vince and Bischoff traded blows for a long time to be #1 and i wasnt behind closed doors at any of the wcw meetings so i didnt know they were going bankrupt. the purchase came as a total surprise and even if i did hear about it before it was announced on tv, i realize we live in a world of spoilers. in a way this website is even a spoiler as we see content for a dvd not released for about a month yet. Think today if Vince bought TNA. It would be pretty wild in my opinion to see AJ Styles/Orton or Abyss/Cena. I doubt these matches will ever happen, but they are examples. Again, the WCW ratings war lasted for a long time and when vince showed up on TV and when shane was on WCW it was a landmark. I dont know if we will ever see anything like that again. A ratings war lasting as long as it did and it only ending out of a real life bankruptcy and job loss is truly much more fascinating and amazing than a quick clip in the middle of a ten minute match.

  24. william says:

For everyone mad about repeat matchs its due to the moments they didnt put them on for the hell of it and they arent goiing to change the countdown to make sure there are no repeat matchs same with orther releases half the time the wrstler chooses himself he could care less what on the others
like jericho siad in his some of the matchs are on other sets but dont matter cause its my set

  25. John23 says:

This set looks be great, I will get it on Blu Ray since I have most of these matches on DVD.

  26. Alan says:

@SRB: I agree with most of what you’re saying, but how do you qualify the ‘OMG’ moment relating to the purchase of WCW? The news was broken on WWE.com over the weekend prior to the simulcast show, so what clip are they supposed to show? A fan logging on to WWE.com and reading the headline? By the time the show aired, it was not breaking news and didn’t have an immediate / shock ‘OMG’ factor attributed to it.

  27. Alan says:

Having seen the content listing, I most likely won’t be buying. As has been mentioned, the majority of the content is available on other DVDs. The only match I have a mild interest in is Undertaker vs. Triple H from Shotgun Saturday Night. There’s way too much from the ‘scratch logo’ era too, which would frustrate the hell out of me (and I can access the original, clean versions via Tagged Classics).

As for the countdown, I thought that Maven’s elimination of the Undertaker at the Royal Rumble 2002 should’ve been in, along with HBK’s heel turn on Hogan. Disappointing. They ditched the Raw Seasons 3 & 4 set for this?

  28. Anonymous says:

way too many repeated matches,i’ll still buy it,but hopefully the hart/hbk and million dollar man dvds will make up for this laziness just like randy orton’s dvd will make up for greatest superstars of the 21st century.

  29. SRB says:

@Todd-With all due respect, the number 1 moment is a laugh because it hardly holds a candle to Vince’s purcahse of WCW or the Montreal Screwjob. From my view, the purchase of WCW and the Invasion is by far the most shocking moment in WWE history, which is completely my opinion. I just dont see how you can take one moment, that lasted a few seconds and call it the biggest moment in wrestling history. But, again, no matter the moment you cant satisfy everyone. All i know is that the WCW issue lasted for about 20 years and when Vince bought it the wrestling world was turned upside down, at least on my TV it was.

@CJ-I actually reviewed the Blackman/Shane match and I completely see where you’re coming from. I guess I just refuse to believe that Blackman has any minutes on a recent WWE release. As my opinion goes, I feel the Iron Man Match with HHH/Rock with HBK as the ref where Undertaker came in at the end did change a lot for the company. The match was huge in general. It started a new feud and unless I’m wrong marks the only real time where HBK/Rock shared time in the ring. It’s a forgotten match that not a lot of people know even happened. That match on a set is long overdue and if not that match I wouldve wanted Cena/Orton Iron Man. Again, just my thoughts.

  30. Jamie says:

Have to agree WWE really needs to cut back on repeat matchs on 3 disc sets but this set looks good though

  31. Brett Mix says:

I really like this set. I don’t love it, but I’ll get it and review it of course.

  32. Marco says:

I’ll totally buy this DVD! It has almost all of my favorite moments on it, as well as some great match choices!

  33. william says:

well amost all the moments i own this cant be pg with number 5

  34. william says:

Shotgun saturday night yes and kurt shane fine with taker mankind as much as i have it it had to be on here

  35. Anonymous says:

At least this will be 100% TV14 release (Bloody matches and lot of these moments have swearing too)

  36. Anonymous says:

A lot of match repeats from other dvds.

  37. Anonymous says:

    Glad to see this

    Street Fight
    Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon
King of the Ring – 24th June, 2001

  38. CJ says:

For people complaining about the matches: Those are the matches with the OMG moments, like when Shane fell off the titantron against Steve Blackman.

Besides they have released pretty much everything that is GOOD on DVD.
@SRB it’s OMG or “shocking” moments. The HHH/Rock wasn’t a shocking moment. If Shane falling off the titantron isn’t an “OMG” moment, then I don’t know what is.

Only two matches on the set have been released a ton of times, those being the TLC II match and Mankind/Taker hell in a cell.

  39. I think this type of title is aimed at the more casual fan then collectors, especially with the different versions being available. I’m looking forward to this release as I enjoyed the top 50 countdown and while we can argue about the top 50 list placements it is just a little fun. And yeah Austin’s heel turn should have been included.

  40. Todd says:

SRB-Why do you say the number 1 moment is a laugh? It is one of the most shocking moments in history and many people, including many non wrestling fans, have been in awe of that moment for years.

  41. Anonymous says:

For the ‘top 50 incidents in wwe history’ this doesnt look the slightest bit interesting.

  42. Anonymous says:

Wow, a shotgun saturday night match? Thats great! I don’t wanna spoil the list so I haven’t checked it out but the match listing looks pretty good, not the best match listing in the world but it has some gems

  43. MrZac says:

    Viewer’s Choice Match
    John Cena vs. CM Punk
    Raw – 7th June, 2010

Could this mean the whole Nexus attack, tie chocking and all, will be shown?

  44. SRB says:

I have already commented below. But, I honestly feel the need to comment here again. WWE is obviously forgetting that only the true fans buy these DVDs, the fans that actually care about their home video collection and the matches within it. The countdown itself is way off with the #1 moment (which i wont spoil out of respect) is really a laugh. I really have no clue where the segments are coming from either. WWE shouldve had 1 disc of the moments, the 2nd disc of matches and the 3rd disc of segments. However, everything is just thrown on there without any thought. I really have to watch Angle pour milk on himself again? The moments themselves seem like most are there and i wouldnt disagree with many, but a few, yes. youve got the purchase of wcw, montreal screwjob and the barber shop with HBK. But, the matches again are horrible. Steve Blackman Vs shane??? Are you serious? and Taker’ Vs the dudley boyz? Why? The only matches that should be on here are ones that really changed WWE. Flair/McMahon, Hogan/Warrior, HHH/Rock (iron man) and HBK/Angle… These are just examples and although those matches are also available on other sets they at least fit the bill of the DVD title. Dont ram Shane VS Steve Blackman down my throat and tell me it goes down as one of the OMG! WWE match moments in history. I have close to 90% of these matches/moments/segments already and 1/2 of this set was already released on the best of smackdown 3 disc set. A waste of a release and i wont be picking it up. Hopefully the HBK/Hart DVD in October makes up for this mess.

  45. Nate says:

Wow, way too many repeats on this set and as was previously stated, not to many gems (Angle-Shane being the lone exception). I was willing to let repeats on some sets slide, but now we are getting ridiculous. I think some new blood is needed in the the WWE Home Video department.

  46. jason goldsmith says:

@SRB-agreed–about all of it is on another dvd elsewhere.
i know WWE could come up with much better than this.

  47. SRB says:

Tables, Ladders & Chairs II for the WWE Tag Team Championship The Hardy Boyz vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. Edge & Christian WrestleMania X-7 – 1st April, 2001 <— This match is on set after set after set and their rematches as well. Not a big fan of the content on this one. I wouldnt say there is one thing on this set that is a true gem. Really nothing on this set makes me want to add it to the vault i already own.

  48. Daniel Bee says:

Austin aligning with McMahon at WrestleMania X-Seven was not a top “OMG” moment in WWE history but Tim White’s suicide skit was? Doh.
