  1. Steven Jackson says:

Interesting match listing so far. I like the artwork and I hope that the rest of the matches carry on the momentum. We can all presume that this will be the only DVD set solely devoted to Owen Hart, so I hope that it delivers.

Looking forward to the next matches 🙂

  2. David says:

The back cover is posted on Amazon.co.uk and lists the following matches as well:

vs. Bret Hart – Wrestlemania X

vs. HBK – #1 Contender for WWE Championship – In Your House 1996

vs. Razor Ramon – King of the Ring Finals – King of the Ring 1994

Hart Foundation vs. Shamrock, Austin, Goldust, LOD – In Your House Canadian Stampede

So there are now 8 confirmed matches in total.

  3. John Peterson says:

Very nice way to start off.One segment that I hope is on here, even though its eerie now,is the funeral palor segment he was on before Wrestlemania 10.

  4. me says:

Oh wow they are really going deep into the archives. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

  5. Sid Francis says:

My wish list would be the classic match against kid at king of the ring 1994, plus Saturday night main event against Ted dibiase or akeem. I know matches will include bret at wm10 plus ss 94.

  6. John says:

I love the cover art and nice selection of matches to start!

  7. Anan says:

When I first read this set was coming out, I preordered it. Upon reading the first batch of extras, I’m so glad I did because preordering guarantees that like every other thing I preorder(ed) off Amazon, I’ll get it the day if its release. First week in and already everything’s a rare, never before released item. I was hoping that his WCW Power Hour match with Rip Rogers was on here because if any WCW match of Owen’s is gonna be here, it should be that and the tag match with Pillman against The Freebirds.

Bret Hart vs CHris Benoit – WCW Nitro, Owen Hart Tribute match should be on the set as well as Owen Hart vs Jushin Liger.

On a side note, I hope Sting will be on the set. He never met Owen on one one as far as I know, but Owen (well his death) had a significant impact on Sting’s career because since Owen’s death, Sting has been reluctant to rapel, something he did in 1997. In fact I’m not even sure if he’s done any more rapels since Owen’s death.

    • Brad Attitude says:

I don’t think the rip rogers match would be allowed as it would be hard to censor the “f*ggot” chants at the start and during the match LOL.

    • Kenny says:

That’s a pretty lame reason to put Sting on this set.

Besides, that wasn’t Sting’s decision–that was an Eric Bischoff call; it was the right call, and I’m sure Sting was very understanding about it, but it wasn’t Sting’s decision.

As great of a match as the Owen Tribute was, it shouldn’t be on the set. It’s already on DVD, and a simple YouTube search will pull it up.

      • John says:

The Owen tribute match is not going to be on the set anyway since WWE refuses to mention Benoit in any form, I would be shocked if it is on the set

  8. Doc 902714 says:

I hope the match with The Rock where Owen first wins the IC Title on RAW is on there.

  9. TMB says:

Unforgiven ’98: Owen vs. Triple H has to be on here!

  10. RabidHeat says:

Im dying with anticipation here … Thomas, are you buying this?

  11. RCS1988 says:

    WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
    Owen Hart vs. Shawn Michaels
    Wrestling Spotlight • August 28, 1993

This is probably a re air of their match they had on All American Wrestling 8/8/93. Interesting they are using a match from the Mania 11 public workout, so they probably filmed all the matches they had there. Hopefully they include more gems like Bret & Owen vs. Money INC, Owen vs. Sabu, & Owen vs. Kurt Angle. Good start so far.

    • Kenny says:

It could be, but not necessarily. Guys wrestle each other many times during tours.

Those public workouts are all taped. They have the entire event for Mania XI and Mania XIV (if they had others, I don’t recall them off the top of my head).

  12. CMW says:

Surprised to see a WCW match, provided he didn’t wrestle long there. Hopefully they’ll include his match on Raw vs. HBK, in which he caused Shawn to collapse. Or maybe his Feb. 1996 match vs HBK at In Your House. True, he lost that match, but it was still a great Owen match, and hasn’t been released yet.

    • attitude.era.4life says:

that HBK match from In your House was definitely missing on the Best of In your House collection from a couple of years ago. A nice match with a shot for the title against Bret on the line at WM 12. Would be great to see it on this release for sure. 🙂

    • PAKsd says:

The In Your House match was released on the Greatest Stars of the 90s set.

      • CMW says:

Thank you for the info. It’s good to know. I never bought it, and really have no interest in the set.

      • attitude.era.4life says:

damn! I better dust that set of 90’s off! Is it that time to admit I have too many sets!? -lol-
        Thanks for the reminder.. 😉

  13. David says:

Bret Hart mentioned in an interview that Martha put a lot of restrictions on the DVD and she handcuffed WWE a lot on this project. He mentioned due to all this its a poorly done DVD as they can’t even use any pictures from his childhood and there is no Stampede Wrestling footage and he even said the questions and interview they did wit him were BS. Here is the link:

If this is really what it is, I rather WWE not even release this as its not even complete and looks like WWE are releasing this as a quick cash grab

  14. Paul says:

If the match selection continues in a similar vein to this then I’m going to get very excited about this release

Shame there’s only 15 matches – perhaps if this release does well we’ll get a match collection release in a year or so

  15. justin F says:

Does anyone think it might be in bad taste to include Blue Blazer matches? That gimmick killed Owen.

    • attitude.era.4life says:

4 – for me – unknown matches, so this week begins very promising..

I expect the 2 classics with Bret: WM X and Summerslam ’94 steel cage, and although they been released numerous times, tney have to belong on this.

Other than ppv matches, I know little of Owen’s work, so I’m curious what the remaining content will be.

Regarding the doc..well, it is a very emotion loaded subject.. I have to say, I will not be disappointet if there’s not to be pictures of Owen when he was a kid, or from youth, or of him with his children and wife.. Like with all docs on wrestlers, that is not my highest interest and I see it only as a way to start up the main subject that I get these releases: Wrestling.

    • attitude.era.4life says:

sorry.. must have moved curser by accident on reply bottom to your post..-lol-

    • RabidHeat says:

That was his second run as the Blazer. Nothing wrong with his early 90s run as the Blazer being represented in my opinion. The costume wasn’t even the same and that was a heel comedy version in the Attitude Era.

  16. Lemo says:

Epic selection. But only 15 matches ! It’s few.

    • John says:

Yeah, I am somewhat disspointed but the 4 matches I see so far is a good start and if they release more other matches that has not been released then I will be happy with just 15 matches
