We promised news this week of another WWE DVD for 2016, and here it is!
WrestlingDVDNetwork.com can exclusively reveal that WWE has a Scott Hall DVD tentatively scheduled for 2016, joining other biography releases next year including Eric Bischoff.
As of now it’s planned to be a full, 3 disc DVD and 2 disc Blu-ray set and feature a documentary on Scott Hall, who last year was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as Razor Ramon.
Stick with WDN for more details as and when they become known.
Another Superstar-themed set we recently revealed for 2016 was the Dudley Boyz!

Hopefully Scott Hall doesn’t get the same treatment as Ultimate Warrior and Sting where the documentary is below or just over one hour. He deserves better considering everything he’s been through. As for the match listing, I hope its a decent list with a few gems and a few repeats (which is kinda expected)
I look at it like this. If WWE gave one of their top stars, a former World Champion and current HOFer in Ultimate Warrior and a legend, an icon in Sting a documentary time of below or just over one hour, then Scott Hall. who deserves a more decent length….I don’t see the chances of him getting it though being high. On the other hand, it’s not the length that only matters. It’s what contained in the doc that matters too. I rather see a good doc at just over one hour than a 2+ hour doc that drags on.
In my previous match listing, I left out Razor Ramon vs IRS – Royal Rumble 1994.
WWE needs to stop taking shortcuts and give us the lengthier documentaries again. These short 1 hour docos just don’t cut it and are only done for the WWE Network. Guys like Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Brian Pillman, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Batista, Triple H, Jerry Lawler etc got more than an hour.
Not disagreeing with you. If I’m not mistaken, Hulk Hogan got a lengthy doc too, maybe more than one. Vince Mcmahon also if I remember correctly got a lengthy doc in 2006. They deserved it as did Benoit, Jericho, Pillman, Rock, Austin, HHH, Bret Hart. Jerry Lawler, while over an hour was pretty short for such a long career though. Scott Hall as I previously mentioned deserves a lengthy doc.
But there’s names who deserve s documentary set who haven’t even had one yet. The Shield, Daniel Bryan, Punk all got docs before long careers like Vader, Booker T, Bradshaw, Ron Simmons, Kevin Nash, Bruno Sammartino, Kane got documented. Punk came to WWE (the main roster anyway) in 2006, Bryan in 2010, The Shield in 2012. Punk’s set and probably Bryan’s too was done at the right time if they were gonna do one on them. Personally I would’ve waited a bit longer for The Shield though.
I prefer docs done on talent when they’re retired and in the HOF (if they’re going to be inducted) like Scott Hall, that way there’s more material to cover making for a potentially lengthy doc.
Sweet! Been waiting for a Scott Hall documentary for quite a few years now. Hope Nash, Booker T, Sammartino get theirs too soon.
I’d like the doc to cover in detailed length the Razor Ramon character because that has to be one of the company’s best characters and that is because of its brilliant portrayal by Scott Hall.
Aside from the doc, I’d like the set to feature…
WWF Debut vignettes
WWF MSG Curtain Call 1996 – I know it’s on The Kliq set, but I feel it belongs on a Scott Hall set too since h was a part of it.
WCW Nitro debut
User Josh has a nice match list. To add to that if I may…
w/Ric Flair vs Savage & Perfect – SSeries 92
vs Bob Backlund – WM9 (it was his WM debut)
vs Bret Hart – KOTR 93
vs Owen Hart – KOTR 94
vs Jeff Jarrett – Royal Rumble 95
vs Jeff Jarrett & Roadie – WM11
vs Shawn Michaels – Summerslam 95
matches against Sting from WCW that were for the World Title or had actual finishes.
Obviously, there are plenty of matches for Scott hall.
Razor vs. Brett- royal rumble 93
Razor vs. Hbk- Wrestle mania 10
Razor vs. Diesel- Summerslam 94
Razor vs. Dean Douglas- iYH 95
Razor vs. Hbk- summerslam 95
Razor vs. Goldust- Royal Rumble 96
Razor vs. Vader- IYH 96
Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and ? Vs. Sting, luger, and macho man- batb 96
Hall and Nash vs. Harlem heat- hh 96
Hall vs. Luger- hh 97
Hall vs. Sting- uncensored 98
Hall vs. Nash- hh 98
Hall vs. Piper- superbrawl 99
Unfortunately, the late 1999 saw hall disappear from TV
Hall vs. Stone cold- Wrestle mania 18
Scott Hall will almost be like Jake Roberts bio. I wonder how deep they are willing to go with his stories. The match is what I’m looking forward to but probably have a ton of repeats. I can see VS Martel for the vacant IC title & the HBK Ladder Match from WMX on here. I mean how many big moments did Hall have anyways?
Just because you dnt remember them doesn’t mean other people don’t mate. No need to be so negative.
I am on the fence on getting Scott Hall set because I can not stand him but I love watching matches, decisions, decisions…
That’s awesome ! But I will only buy the scott hall DVD if they have a documentary . its going to be great !
Oh wow, Scott Hall is not who I was expecting but I will certainly take it. Should be good but I hope they don’t dwell on his demons too much. It’s a big part of his story, I get that, but I’d like to hear something more positive overall than the somewhat morbid documentaries we’ve been getting lately. At least Hall is still alive of course so that makes things a bit more positive. Matches obviously will be good, as will promos.
The Scott Hall DVD better be a Bio, not a compilation. I want to hear alot about his struggles and how he nearly died from them. This DVD needs to be very emotional.
Please put Ramon vs Bret from RR 93
A Scott Hall dvd? Too Sweeet!!! First Bishoff & now Hall, I’m defiantly stoked for 2016….Now if we can get sets on Nash, DDP, Booker T, Luger & another on Sting (maybe an unreleased collection) it would be a great year!!
First match reveal for the Scott Hall set: Shawn Michael vs Razor Ramon Intercontinental Ladder Match – Wrestlemania X, March 20 1994
If they put that match on there, it will be a Blu-ray exclusive and from the hard camera only with no commentary. Hopefully they include matches from his entire career, including his runs as Big Scott Hall in the AWA, Starship Coyote in the NWA, Gator Scott Hall NWA, Diamond Studd WCW, and of course his runs as Scott Hall in WCW and Razor in WWE.
If it includes lots of early matches, from before his time in WWE, I’m all for a Scott Hall DVD set. But it will probably just be full of repeats.
So far, I’m not really that high on the superstars themed releases for 2016:
Dudleys, the Bitsch and now the Bad Guy.. for sure all important charachters, but as individual multiple discs releases on the same level like Hogan, Macho, Flair, Warrior, HBK, Undertaker, etc.?, naaaaah..
100 % certanty of course requires the complete content thats yet to be seen, so we’ll see what these sets will bring..
Spoiler alert: the WM X ladder is on Hall’s! 😉
See, I’d much rather have discs from superstars who have not been released over multiple releases for the same person. I’m happy with who they chose so far (Though I’ve been waiting for a Terry Funk Blu Ray for ages).
You won’t get one, it will be on both sets, not a Blu-ray exclusive, though Disney has stopped releasing stuff on DVD and only have it on blu-ray and digital.
Personally I think 2016 is going to be the best year in a while.
Scott Hall, interesting but why won’t wwe release as full Andre the Giant documentary
Or Bruno Sammartino?
I agree with you on that, they should release a Bruno & Andre DVD as well as unreleased dark matches from TV tapings.
Funny that you mention Andre should be getting a DVD, there was an interview with Andre’s daughter during a Comic-Con in NY and she mentioned how her relationship with WWE is purely professional, there is no contract and WWE just pay her royalties. She said WWE doesn’t her for some reason and mentioned Vince Sr. was a better guy than his son.
Maybe that is part of the reason, no legends contract and WWE not liking Andre’s daughter.
I guess Triple H will come to the rescue again and mend fences that Vince burns.
*I meant WWE doesn’t like her
He just got a profile on True Giants and they still can’t talk about Hogan. It will have to wait a few years.
They can speak on Hulk Hogan if they deem it necessary; Bischoff did so at length in his recent Network interview. Plus with docs on Bischoff & Hall in the making, WWE will have no choice.
