According to DDP on his Twitter account (“DaRealDDP”) he’s in talks with WWE about hosting the upcoming Best of WCW Nitro DVD set. Here’s what he had to say on there:
“Just got the Word… Looks like I may be hosting the Best of Nitro coming out on WWE dvds…Sounds like a Great time… I’ll keep you posted.”
Silver Vision have now confirmed that for the European market there will be a usual 2 Disc Blu-ray release for WWE Royal Rumble 2011 (with the Raw & Smackdown episodes included). For the North American market there have been plans to release it as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.
Speaking of WWE DVDs in UK/Europe, Survivor Series 2010 will be released next month and one edition will have a limited edition slipcase, which has replaced the usual Steel Book version.
Get this or the 2 Disc Blu-ray edition first over at Silvervision.co.uk.
US shipping at WWEShop over $3.90 then? Maybe it’s just working out cheaper for people overseas.
After shipping cost, it’s still cheaper at amazon…
That’s exactly what it is. How a lot of movies are released on Blu-ray now. Personally it’s no use to me either.
this might be a dumb questiong, but what is a blu ray/dvd combo pack? a 2-disc set with the event on a regular dvd and a blu ray disc? if so, that’s kinda…stupid.
Aww, I loved the Steelbook editions. ๐
Me too, decided to collect all the Steel Books recently. A different cardboard slipcover won’t cut it for me!
I have a Blu Ray drive for my PC so I can play any region through that. Originally I bought all Region A due to them coming out earlier and only Region B for the UK exclusives. Now for PPVs I’m waiting for the UK release so I can get the SD show as well and the RAW and just getting the non PPV sets from the US.
All WWE Blu-rays are region locked. The one’s on WWEShop and other US sources are Region A.
I know Platt is from the UK so I assume he has a Region A player in addition to a Region B one. I have a multi-region Blu-ray player made by Japanese company called Momitsu so that’s how I do it. So far it plays everything I tried on it but I know they no longer “support” it with firmware due to backlash from the studios ๐
One way of doing it would be to have a PS3 console from your home region and then try to pick up a cheap (used?) standalone Blu-ray player from the other region.
Are the WWE blu-rays region locked, I’m here in the uk. Some websites say they are others say ‘unknown’, the boxes say they are, but they? Or are you guys using region hacked/international blu players? What’s da score?
No problem. I ordered one too ๐
Not sure yet whether the USA Rumble will be a combo pack but that’s how it appears on our schedule so it was planned at least. We will see.
Thanks for the info on the wwe.com sale just cancelled my Amazon order and picked up the BluRay from there instead.
I’m torn about the Rumble now I want to UK version to get the go home Smackdown but getting the combo set is probab;y going to be much cheaper than buying the BluRay and DVD seperatly.
