Looks like the 1989 film No Holds Barred, starring Hulk Hogan and Zeus, will be making its way out of WWE’s video vault and on to DVD for the first time ever.
According to this flyer being bundled with recent WWEShop orders, the movie will be released through WWE Studios on July 3rd, 2012.
That joins other projects in the works through to 2013 – The Day, Barricade, No One Lives (featuring Brodus Clay), and The Marine 3: Homefront (rumored to be starring Randy Orton).
Speaking of WWE Studios, their latest offering Bending The Rules (starring Edge) was released yesterday on DVD and Blu-ray at Walmart stores across the US.
There also releasing leprechaun with hornswoggle
if no holds barred includes the match, i will buy. if not, then no thanks.
i can’t find the match anywhere on dvd, which is the only reason this might be worth buying.
i look forward to the details in the comming months!
wow, do people even buy dvds any more? coming on blu ray in 2057
Why didn’t they just make it for Blu-ray? DVD’s are the new VHS. haha keep up with the times WWE universe.
Jerry Lawler recently did an interview with The Miami Herald talking about his favorite WrestleMania match to commentate.
“One match that I really enjoyed calling was The Rock against Hulk Hogan [WrestleMania 18 in 2002 in Toronto]. That was a match you thought you’d never see. I’d put that like a match between Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. It was just something you thought would never happen, and it was a great match. As far as I’m concerned, of the matches I’ve seen, it was probably Hulk Hogan’s best match ever, and The Rock was fabulous in it. So I thought that match was great.”

I don’t mind you plugging Bleacher Report articles (etc) but this is not even remotely related to the article you are commenting on, Justin.
@Daniel Bee, l know that what l posted is not related to the article that l am commenting in but, l just want to let wrestling fans know some useful-information of what is going on in the wrestling world as we speak. l hope that l am not causing any trouble with your website, Daniel.
Hi again. We’re an easy going site and I believe in sharing so feel free to post links (opening in a new window). It’s best if you have an article loosely related to the one you’re commenting on, though.
great news – still have the vhs release but cant view it, so ill grab the dvd provided its released in the UK – i dont expect any extras apart from the match that was aired on ppv with the movie.
i doubt they will bother with a bluray release however.
jockass is still a great and under used word. i like to throw it out there sometimes.
Best of ITV wrestling/A/Z of ITV wrestling are good.
Aleternatively, World of Sport is on about 5 times a day on Men&Movies
Don’t care about Hogan never did never will .But the best movie that WWE has ever put out was the Kane See No Evil Jacob Goodnight was one of the most newest and icon of horror character ever done .It was so different and Kane aka Glen Jacob nailed the part .If you have not see this movie just buy it the dvd and blu ray has a ton of extras on them .A must own .I would love to see Glen play this part again somehow .
Dookie
Awesome, totally fucking awesome.
General question, what is a great classic british wrestling dvd to buy? I am looking on amazon.com and any suggestions would be appreciated.
There is a few classic ITV dvd’s out like the A-Z, wrestling madness, best of itv etc… they are all going very cheap (just a few pounds each second hand)
I will own this the day it comes out 😀
Wonder if they’ll include interviews with any of the cast (Zeus, Hogan, Stan Hansen), I guess the only one who be hard to get is Hogan.
My brother ordered some merchandise (2 WrestleMania XXVIII Cena vs. Rock Augmented Reality Adult Tees & an Undertaker Apocalyptic Warrior Authentic T-Shirt) on WWEShop.com & we saw the insert.
they need to add of the Hogan vs Zeus matches and even the WCW Uncensored one as extras
I haven’t seen that movie since the early 90’s…. i will certainly be watching it again….just for kicks
All of Cena’s movies combined are better than one of Hogan’s movies
Are any wrestlers playing in “The Day” & “Barricade”?
Oh and Orton is playing in “Marine Homefront”
Don’t know about barricade but the day was filmed without wwe and they bought after it did good at film festivals no wrestlers in it may be good barricade is a wwe project though
The day is a Canadian apocalyptic war film that stars Dominic monagan (Charlie off Lost)
Great news!
There is another movie called “Body Slam” that came out in the late 80’s I think. Thats another good movie. Its not a WWE movie, I don’t think, but it had ALL WWE wrestlers in it. Google it or look it up on youtube, whatever. I have to buy that DVD too.
Is it the one with Roddy Piper? How about Grunt with Adrian Adonis. I think??
@SRB
Yeah, Roddy Piper, Tonga Kid, Lou Albano and the Wild Somoans among many others play in that movie. Its actually a really good movie.
Cant wait for the Brodus Clay feature in early 2013. Something tells me I’d actually rather watch one of his matches
OMG! This is the post you never thought you’d see on WWEDVDNews!
I had this misfortunte of watching this movie a couple of years ago, and people called The Chaperone a ‘bad movie’ – you ain’t seen nothing till you’ve seen No Holds Barred!
The ONLY good thing about No Holds Barred is the Stan Hansen cameo.
However after writing all a No Holds Barred Blu-Ray is without a doubt a day one pickup! I’m off to watch Suburban Commando (with Taker cameo) now.
This needs to happen on Bluray
FINALLY! One of the best news items this year. I thought Alliance would have released this on DVD up in Canada years ago. Hope it’s widely available.
What are the other films about like these
The Day -Barricade about
I remember i loved this movie as a kid…was a HUGE Hulkamaniac (who wasn’t!).
If this is released on Blu-ray, i’m definitely picking it up.
“you Jockass”
LOL
This is awesome news. I searched high and low on amazon and ebay looking to see if they ever made a DVD version… and i found out they never have.
The movie is corny, but I love it! One of the only Hogan movies I ever seen except Surburban Commando lol.
Can’t wait for this, and hopfully its on blu-ray too.
I have my unofficial homemade ‘Ultimate Edition’ of this anyway, so I won’t be buying, lol. 😉 Great for those who don’t have it though, I guess.
YES! I love that movie!
Hopefully the DVD will include the Hogan / Beefcake vs Savage / Zeus cage match from the No Holds Barred Movie / Match PPV
I can’t wait to see Rip take on Deebo again
Surely they’ll put it on Blu-ray too.
forget DVD, for making us wait this long, i want it on Bluray
