Matches on New Mysterio DVD, WWE Extreme Rules Rules 2011 on Blu-ray?

April 26, 2011 by Daniel Bee

Silvervision have today confirmed that WWE’s new Rey Mysterio: The Life of a Masked Man 3-Disc DVD will contain 2 ECW matches, 6 WCW matches and 12 WWE matches.

They have now added WWE Extreme Rules 2011 to order on their website, revealing that the plans right now are for the event to be released on DVD format only to UK/Europe.

A Blu-ray edition of Extreme Rules 2011 is however scheduled to be released to North America on May 31st. That’s down as a single disc Blu-ray, rather than another BD/DVD combo pack.

  1. you would think as the world is getting smaller with the internet, different strategies for different regions wouldn’t be so important, especially with WWE which is an american show, nearly always making european’s wait.

  2. Daniel Bee says:

Varying “release strategies” in different regions, I’m told.

i really dont get the WWE Policy as far as blu ray releases go..Sometimes Europe gets releases that the US don’t,and now we have a turn with the US getting WWE extreme Rules on blu ray and not Europe!! What’s the deal here?!!!!

In my view having more than one three disc collection for any wrestler is a bit pointless. I don’t want to open too much of a debate here but there are so many others yet to be profiled at all. It only undermines the previous releases unless an update is truly necessary. In this case I feel it isnt. Will still sell no doubt.

  5. Mark Markson says:

The WWE matches on the Rey DVD better be some that haven’t been released on DVD before. Meaning Smackdown and Raw matches.

  6. thomas says:

sucks that we wont get it in a bd/dvd pack wont pick up the event since i will probably watch it on ppv

  7. SRB says:

Am i the only one that is really sick of all of Rey’s matches that we’ve seen 100 tiems? I know he had great matches with the people he had programs with. But filling up more discs with his matches with Eddie, Juvi and Psicosis seems really worthless. I know the content hasn’t been released yet, but I just dont want the same stuff I already have

  8. A Documentary on the new Mysterio DVD is highly likely I think

Could that mean ther might be a documentary on Reys DVD, since the last one that was all matches had 9 more matches than this?
