Thanks to Gerald Orr, WWEDVDNews can now bring you a pre-release look at WWE’s next DVD release Rey Mysterio: The Life of a Masked Man before it hits stores next week!
The approximate runtime is 9 hours, and the set is rated TV-PG. There is no paper insert present but the content listing is printed on the packaging itself. No Blu-ray version for this one.
For the first time ever, Rey Mysterio sits down and reviews his historic career, reflecting on his greatest matches and moments. This all-new interview features exclusive and candid comments from the Ultimate Underdog on his Sports Entertainment path through ECW, WCW, and WWE; his rivalries with Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, CM Punk; his thoughts on battling men almost twice his size, and his emotional Cruiserweight, Intercontinental, and World Championship runs.
Get yours now at WWEShop, or if you’re in UK/Europe pre-order it for August at Silvervision.co.uk.
Went to tonight’s WWE SmackDown house show, bought it for $20 & it looks great!
Sounds right, counted 56 including WrestleMania when doing it quickly.
I did a count Daniel, and from the first three disc set in 2003 (The Ultimate Ric Flair collection) up to and including this new Rey Mysterio set there are 60 three disc sets.
Best Buy in the US is still listing Capital Punishment & MITB 11 on BluRay as preorders…. waiting for confirmation but Best Buy US might have another WWE BD exclusive run coming….
rob: Likely because they’re info is outdated as usual! Hopefully exclusives though, but SummerSlam 2011 remains listed with the normal date on what we have.
Thank you for the kind words Anonymous. I’m gonna finish up Disc 3 tonight and then have a review.
Amazing pics!Looks good!

This might be a dumb question but Rey didn’t do the 619 in WCW?
Hi there. Quickly counted and got bout 48 in total, including this latest Rey one and the 3-Disc version of Foley Greatest Hits & Misses. I used http://www.silvervision.co.uk for reference (superstar/feature).
There are 8 WrestleMania sets to add also.

Just out of curiousity how many 3-Disk DVD Sets are there of WWE
I’m just guessing about 30 but I would like the exact number.
It’s awesome the WWE put the content listing inside the DVD packaging. Now if they would only do this with ALL releases, it would be even better. I would have loved for a content listing with the recent release of “The Greatest Cage Matches” DVD compilation.
If they happen to release this in different colours like they did Biggest Little Man, there’s another five DVDs I need to get hold of 😉
The last WWE DVD I bought was “The True Story Of WrestleMania” & I may have to buy Rey Mysterio’s latest set, as well as his previous items!
Cena has a blu-ray set, Orton is out soon – and trips and hbk had one released as dx
They’ve got to stop writing this ‘first time ever’ crap on every DVD.
Rey must be a distant #5 or 6 behind HHH/HBK/Cena/Orton/Taker to not get a blu ray set, considering how much of the material was filmed in HD.
YES!!!! now thats how a release should look. the printed content is truly amazing and i really love the artwork inside. i love how each disc is a different color and how you can really tell wwe put some cash into this set. plus, they seem really big on how rey did a sit down for some of the content. im looking forward to this set. nice work wwe and thanks for the photos
Good thing they put the content listing.
This set looks amazing.. Artwork is top notch. And they actually printed the match listings? Good job WWE!
