This is how WWE DVD and Blu-ray releases are shaping up so far for 2014:
TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2013 – Jan 14
The Best of Raw & Smackdown 2013 – Jan 28
Shawn Michaels: Mr. WrestleMania – Feb 11
Royal Rumble 2014 – Feb 25
The official synopsis for the Royal Rumble 2014 DVD is shown below. We can confirm a Blu-ray edition of the PPV event is also planned worldwide.
One of the most hallowed traditions in sports entertainment, the Royal Rumble is back for its 27th edition! WWE kicks off the road to its historic 30th WrestleMania with its annual 30-man, over the top rope battle royal, where one Superstar will punch his ticket to New Orleans for a championship match at the Show of Shows.
Last year, John Cena emerged from the pack to earn a second chance at a showdown with The Rock. This year, which Superstar will add his name to the illustrious list of Royal Rumble winners along side such greats as Cena, Hogan, Stone Cold and Triple H?

An early copy of “The History of WWE: 50 Years of Sports Entertainment” DVD is up for grabs here on eBay.com. The auction for it is up to $16.50 and ends tomorrow!
We’ve also heard from several WDN readers that certain K-Mart stores are selling the DVD already ahead of next week’s release and that they’ve been successful buying it early.
Following on from the in-depth preview of The History of WWE documentary posted to the site yesterday, we can confirm that the number of personalities interviewed is around 60! The Undertaker is one of them, following his appearance in the Triple H documentary.
As mentioned, the Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan WrestleMania 3 match featured on the set is listed as “Arena Camera – No Commentary”. It’s a new look at the match from the arena hard camera only, as shown in the screenshot below.
The WrestleMania 18 Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock match is one of the bonuses too. This marks the first time since WWE reportedly settled with the World Wildlife Fund that they have released the match “unblurred” without censoring WWF references.
The History of WWE is released on Tuesday! You can pre-order now by clicking here. It follows to the UK and Europe on December 2nd over at WWEDVD.co.uk.
Check out these two stand-out wrestling DVD lots which both expire later today on eBay! First up, look here for an auction of over 70 WWE DVDs and the WrestleMania Anthology all in one collection. That’s bid up to $315.00 at the time of writing.
This smaller lot of 8 DVDs contains 5 of the tricky to find out-of-print WWF titles, including Vengeance 2001 and No Mercy 2001. That’s only $22.47 right now.
you no I havent see the wwe for 6 months now but i did hear about that joke about setphany Mc hann getting arested. That police station doesnt even exist.I call wwe a clown show.Your emberaseing the comedians. There are about 500 of us that used to watch wwe.But we were laughing so hard at these scripted shows we started to watch gillians Island the rifelman and others.WWe is so predtable its scary.Bring back the undertaker that vince made theundertaker quit then we might start whtching again.
Just picked up the 3 disc DVD set of The History of WWE set from KMart for $19.99. They had several copies already on the shelf along with the $5 marked down WWE dvds.
Looks like Taker provided comments for the HHH set and this set at the same time as he is wearing a grey hoddie which is exactly what he wore in the HHH documentary.
Glad he’s a part of it as he’s been with the company since 1990. All of years, all those eras, he’s the only link to the pre-Attitude cartoonish era of the early 90’s. That alone makes him perfect for this documentary.
and jake the snake Robert’s comments on history of wwe and legends of mid south were from his pick your poison dvd.
The “pick your poison” interview is a different interview to the MSW/History of WWE one.
I wonder why they got rid of the WWEHD logo in the top left corner. Not that I’m complaining the less logos the better.
Also any news on the full 2014 schedule.
Maybe it’s from the DVD release?
I thought the Attitude Era DVD/Blu-Ray was 1st to have matches and clips unblurred with WWF references in tact.
Brock Lesnar Here Comes the Pain Collectors Edition 3 disc dvd/2 disc blu-ray was the 1st release to feature no blurring of the WWF Logo etc, with Jeff Hardy vs Brock Lesnar from Backlash 2002 being the 1st match since the name change to be unedited bar the WWE logo being present in the bottom left corner!
i like to get my wwe blu rays at walmart because they come with the vudu copy.
i wish every wwe dvd came with a digital copy
Here’s a #1 seller DVD idea… The Founding Father of Ring Intensity, The ULTIMATE WARRIOR: Life Story, Career, and Matches. – Disk 1: Life Story & Matches – Disk 2: Matches – Disk 3: Matches, Bonus & Extras.
oWn – One Warrior Nation FOREVER!
“The WrestleMania 18 Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock match is one of the bonuses too. This marks the first time since WWE reportedly settled with the World Wildlife Fund that they have released the match “unblurred” without censoring WWF references.”
That’s true, but a few years ago, Amazon sold WM18 for only $9.99 so I’ve had that match unblurred for awhile now.
The World Wildlife Fund did it for money, not there name. WWF/E was making big bucks, so they sued because of jealousy. It’s all BS!
It doesn’t really matter what Amazon sold a few years ago, as officially WM18 went out-of-print in 2002 and WWE hasn’t sold it since. But yeah, I’m sure a lot of us here own the original WWF DVD. It’s definitely not been a tough one to get hold of over the years.
Winners, They come and go, Legends, There FOREVER!
oWn – ONE WARRIOR NATION!
History of WWE DVD not including Ultimate Warrior?… What a bunch of BS!
I’m not buying it!… I will NOT buy a single new WWE DVD until I buy a new Ultimate Warrior DVD of his career, life and matches.
One Warrior Nation FOREVER!
There was a compilation Randy Savage DVD made of just matches. We want a “Macho Man” Randy Savage Life Story & Matches DVD with commentary by his family, real friends and co workers.
Also a Ultimate Warrior DVD of Warriors Life and Matches as well with the same content.
Plus… Sting, Owen Hart, Tatanka, The Rockers, Demolition, Scott Hall, DDP, and lots more.
They deserve it!
These surveys are not accurate. WWE fixes these polls and says this is what the fans voted, just like on polls on Monday night RAW for match stipulations, opponents, etc.
There are lots more people who want a new DVD of Ultimate Warrior, Sting, WWF days and more.
A DVD for ULTIMATE WARRIOR is way over due. I will not purchase anymore WWE DVD’s until I purchase a new ULTIMATE WARRIOR DVD. Ultimate Warrior deserves a new DVD and positive one. Not like the last BS Bash Job one!
ONE WARRIOR NATION will always be #1 to me.
It only makes ULTIMATE sense!
Hi, Dan can you tell me if the pre-2008 footage in the extras section i.e matches are they zoomed and cropped or shown in 4:3 with the added side bars? thanks this very important if its the case where the matches are zoomed and cropped like in the best of raw 2009 dvd then im not buying this blu-ray!!
I’m not Dan, but I can confirm the pre-08 matches are full screen with sidebars (black ones) as you can see in the pictures above. The cropped footage is in the main documentary.
Just got mine at Kmart…I did a review of it on my youtube channel
I noticed the beginning was about how the company started and stealing guys from other companies to make a one gigantic company. But then i noticed Most of parts were copied from HHH’s documentary and there was a lot of videos of wrestlemania 29 My rate is 6 or 7/10
Daniel Bryan will win The Royal Rumble. YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!
