Last month’s ”ROYAL RUMBLE” was great. This being the first pay-per-view ever to have a comic book cover. EDGE making back to back appearances in the ”ROYAL RUMBLE” was awesome. NIOMI and BIANCA BELAIR ruled the ring in the women’s ”ROYAL RUMBLE” match. Congrats to bianca for winning it. i hope it’s her and SASHA for the ”SMACKDOWN” women’s title at ”WRESTLEMANIA” part 37.

  2. LP1 says:

Edge is actually the 4th person to go coast to coast in Royal Rumbles. Shawn in 95, (unknown) in 04, Rey in 06 and Edge in 21. I guess by technicality we can add Vince in 99, but he was outside the ring for the majority of the match.

And before anyone tries to say there’s a difference between the number 1 entrant and the number 2 entrant, don’t even waste your time. WWE can pretend all they want that somehow number 1 is a worse number than number 2, but in reality it’s not. Both numbers are exactly the same. They’re both in the ring when the opening bell rings.

  3. BAS says:

Even though they’ve blackballed his name, I will give WWE credit for at least somewhat acknowledging Chris Benoit’s history. During Edge’s post rumble match celebration, they acknowledged him as the third person to win the match after entering first, and it’s apparent Michaels and Benoit were the first two to do so. Even though they didn’t mention names, at least they didn’t try acting like Michaels was the only one to previously win from the first entry.

  4. RabidHeat says:

Ah, two people on the cover who didn’t wrestle at the event – lovely. That tops the Horror Show cover from last hear with Apollo Crews on.

  5. Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

Cool cover, weak event. Though..having Kofi on an “in your face” position is rather strange, considering the amount of time he was on screen.

RR always been my favorite WWF/E event of the year, but huge disappointed with this years event and they should just stop with that horrible terrible fake “crowd” noise.

With this years winner, I guess there’s now only two remaining from the classes of Attitude Era / Ruthless Agression, that in the near future will be able to call them selfs multiple royal rumble winners, hence:

    Winner of 2022: The Rock

Winner of 2023, twenty years after his first win: The Beast.. The Conqueror! Book it! 😉

Finally, HBK does not have to be feeling lonely anymore as the in the history of RR.

Cos now he will be mentioned together with this years winner as the only 2 men to have gone from coast to coast the three times that has happend in rumble history!

    • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

What the foook..? got myself some Deleties to delete some of my text.. totally obsolete..Guess, I text too much.. -lol- nvm.. 😉

  6. SRB says:

A somewhat off-topic question, but does anyone know the differences between the Wrestlemania Anthology sets that were released and the re-releases that I believe came out in 2013? Was it a logo thing, a running time thing or a music editing thing? I’m wondering why these re-releases took place to begin with and what changes there were, if any. Much appreciated.

    • Daniel Bee says:

Hey! The content of those was the exact same as the Anthology discs except for WM15 which no longer had the blurring/muted WWF references, etc.

Some useful deets here – https://www.wrestlingdvdnetwork.com/major-update-wwe-wrestlemania-1-15-dvd/36742/

      • Joseph L Owens says:

The audio cuts are also no longer in the re-releases. So when someone says, WWF, you actually hear it. I thought the anthology release of Mania 15 also kept the infamous ending of the Bossman/Taker HIAC match in tact whereas the re-release did not; but I could be wrong on that. That is one that I took to Ebay for so I could own the original release, prior to the anthology.

        • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

Joseph: you are quite right about the cuts in the 2013 edition, regarding the Bossman hanging and choking also in the HIAC match against Undertaker. The link to an article from this site, that Daniel has posted above, gives an in depth look into the alternative versions of XV..

Also..regarding runtime: 2013 edition is: 2:39:03 – Anthology edition, UK version at least: 02:46:15 – UK Tagged Classic edition: 02:46:28 – The original DVD from 1999 UK edition is: 02:45:28.

In a rare occassion, the WWE Network version has the longest running time though, with: 02:46:58. And just to clear any possible doubt: by comparing each editions, I started at excact same point, meaning, if there was the “Attitude Entertainment”-intro in all editions, I started from that point. If not every edition had that intro, I started from the beginning of the show. Hence, measured the runtime from excact same position on all editions.

Did that for all the WWF/E ppv’s and events I own on DVD/Bluray.. gotta do something in the Lockdown-era, right!? 😉

          • whut says:

that’s the most annoying thing about all of this: there are countless versions and, with lots of the ppvs, NONE is an unaltered copy of the original ppv broadcast.

(which imo is kind of ridiculous)

            • Ruthless.Attitude.Eras.4Life says:

WHUT: Yeaah..I was expecting in februar 2014 at the launch of the Network, when Steph made the somewhat bold statement: “All ppv’s and events will be avaliable in Full, Uncut and Complete versions..” that it would actually happen. But..we all know about the McMahonism version of Life, the Universe and Everything.-lol-

Of the 378 events I have on DVD/Bluray, 265 of them have longer runtime on the discs version than the Network stream version. 113 are longer on the Network version.

There’s even difference between Taggec Classics versions, Anthology versions and the few region 1 editions. So, yeaaah.. hard times getting THE complete version on many. 😉

              • whut says:

and again, in many case it’s literally not possible.

e.g. there is no “complete” version of WrestleMania X-Seven. the only way to see that are recodings of the original broadcasts.

      • SRB says:

Thank you, DB. I was absolutely sure that this subject had been covered in the past, but was unsure where to find it. I appreciate it.
