  1. THOMAS says:

Folks, just accept that everything is not going to go your way, it is the WWE decision that has got every right to decide the artwork on everything so take Night Of Champions 2012 / Money In The Bank 2012, they had spoilers but if you are not going to be happy with the artwork, simple don’t buy the event at all

  2. THOMAS says:

Don’t complain about what the artwork or a spoiler of SummerSlam 2013 is, not everyone will buy the event if it contains spoiler of a title match, I honestly think it is fantastic artwork, don’t buy the event for the artwork, just buy the event for the event itself

  3. Justin Insatiable says:

This Sheezy fool is an idiot and knows nothing about good marketing. Poor cover for SummerSlam, poor marketing!

  4. Sheezy says:

When the WWE or any company for that matter releases a Dvd or blu ray they are not concerned at all with what people ten years from now thinkoof the cover. If a video is popular enough that people still want to buy it in ten years then the chances are it will have been re released at least once by then with a different cover. So stop your whining already and get.over it.

    • Orlando says:

what about those who’ve never seen the show and wanna hire it? the front cover is still a give away result.

  5. Sheezy says:

Justin a “casual fan” who would go a month without watching any WWE does not buy ppvs on video, duh. Like I said, its the same as a sports video in the sense that anyone buying it almost certainly already knows what happened.

  6. Dan says:

After seeing this thank God for wcf

  7. Sheezy says:

Lol at this Justin loser who has to respond to every comment. If someone isn’t a wrestling fan they aren’t going to be buying this unless its a gift, in which case they don’t care about the spoiler cuz they don’t know who any of those people are!!! Do u also bitch about spoilers on the covers of sports DVDs? “Oh my god the 2013 NBA finals Dvd cover is a spoiler because it shows Miami with the trophy!”. That’s how dumb you sound. What wrestling fan would skip watching raw and smackdown for amonth just so they can buy the ppv bou ray or Dvd without it being spoiled?! Don’t you think they would just order the event live?! If you don’t want spoilers then order the damn ppv, its that simple.

    • Justin Satiable says:

      hey loser,

ever occurred to you that not everyone is a regular follower of wwe. there are those who DON’T always keep up to date with the product on a day by day/week by week basis, those are called casual fans. the problem when it comes to lazy effort like spoiler covers such as this is if a casual follower wants to watch this 5-10 years from now in which they’ve never seen before, the front cover basically gives away the result … but then again, you’re probably too dumb to think about that.

  8. Gordon says:

Any photo of what the back of this cover looks like?

  9. Papuchiz says:

It’s soooooo funny how people are crying about a cover. Lmao! what’s important? Cover or the actually event?? Hmmmmmmmm??

  10. THOMAS says:

Don’t buy the event if the artwork is a spoiler for you, there is nothing with the artwork, I like the artwork, it stands out for SummerSlam 2013, WWE has decided this piece of artwork, they have the right to decide who or what is going to be on front of every event on dvd / blu ray, we have to accept it on whether we like the artwork or not, it is the event we have to watch, not look at the artwork

    • Simon says:

I don’t think anyone’s denying that. But we can still have opinions about the artwork, whether or not you deem them relevant.

    • Mabel says:

typical mark who agrees with anything wwe does.

    • Isrs4life says:

They had John Cena victory from Money in the bank 2012 celebrating his
win on the cover of the 2012 money in the bank dvd.

They also had Rock with the WWE Championship on the royal rumble dvd cover
not winning it but pratically a spoiler but just read results thow it dont hurt I couldnt
wait that long just to see what happen on a ppv without being spoiled.

  11. Simon says:

Couldn’t care less about the cover being a spoiler, but not a big fan of the image. I’m also confused by the red shading on the right hand side – what’s this supposed to denote?

  12. I’m fine with DVD covers including spoilers, but that SummerSlam one is just plain bad.

  13. NickP says:

What the H E Double hockey sticks is that. For an annual PPV regarded as the second biggest show of the year, that’s the cover. Its only better than 2010s cover because there is no Yawn Cena

  14. Shane says:

Meh it’s okay. I would’ve preferred just a picture of John Cena and Daniel Bryan

  15. Mr Disc says:

Going off the votes it seems like most of us do hate it. The Summerslam 2010 cover was horrible too.

  16. Mr Disc says:

The covers for PPV’s really suck these days. I don’t care if it’s a spoiler cause you should know what happened at the event anyway. But it’s just the fact that screen caps from the show itself does look really lazy and cheap.

    • Justin Satiable says:

Not everybody follows WWE you idiot. Lets say in five years some kid wants to watch it and sees the cover, he’ll already know the result of the wwe title match because of lazy front covers like this.

  17. RabidHeat says:

The spoiler cover actually works in this case though, for the first time ever, and I’ll tell you why: it can be seen as the McMahon’s/HHH “Corporation” purposely authorizing it for release in an act of evil, just to completely and utterly humiliate Daniel Bryan, and plug their posterboy champion. 🙂

    • Mr Disc says:

You have read too much into that dude. My money is on the fact that it was the closing shot of Summerslam. Just like a couple of other releases MITB 2012 and NOC 2012 etc used the closing moments of the ppv aswell.

      • RabidHeat says:

I didn’t mean that actually was the reason behind it, just that it’s kind of a fun way of looking at it.

  18. stub says:

Will still buy it regardless of the spoiler cover,it’s a dumb idea of a cover but not worth bitching about as we all know what happened

    • Justin Satiable says:

not everyone follows wwe. say in 5 years time a young kid or middle age person decides to watch this and sees the cover. they will immediately know who won without watching it. the cover is just a lazy effort.

  19. THOMAS says:

Fantastic artwork for the 26th Annual WWE SummerSlam 2013 event

  20. THOMAS says:

I like the artwork for SummerSlam 2013 dvd, so stop whining and moaning and complaining about the spoiler, WWE has the rights to decide which artwork for their events so just buy the event / don’t buy the event if the artwork spoils it for you fans

    • Tom says:

who the hell are you talking to the mass have the right to bitch about the picture because who in the hell going to buy your not the only one in the Fn world!!!

  21. Jizztits Perkins says:

    I’m not mad because it’s a spoiler (which it isn’t), I’m mad because it’s F***ING LAZY!

  22. Wonderllama says:

The two biggest reasons anyone should want this PPV is John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar. I would have those two matches featured on the cover

My favorite SummerSlam cover is 2009. Instead of a photo, it has the SummerSlam logo with all the major stars featured. Simple and effective

  23. Book says:

What the!? Spoiler!? What in the blue hell? What is with the times when the PPV-cover where the dvd-cover/blu-ray-cover!? -.-

  24. Timothy Thorpe says:

I voted “Don’t like it” not because of the spoiler factor, but because I’m a babyface fan and don’t like that Triple H and Randy Orton turned heel. But I admit that this angle will be hot and good and something fresh, not seen in a long time. I didn’t get to see the PPV live so this will be a buy for me.

  25. chris says:

It hate spoiler covers. Mainly because it looks cheap. Last year’s cover was badass and made it seem like an event. They may as well photoshop Orton standing on Daniel Bryan. Anyone who defends this cover is an absolute mark who will accept anything ( IMO!). Aside from that gripe Summerslam 2013 is a must buy for me. Best PPV of the year.

    • Justin Satiable says:

Vengeance 2011 (with big show and mark henry in a broken down ring) was the worst cover I ever seen.

  26. Micah says:

This is as ridiculous as the VHS cover for Survivor Series 1998, where you see a shot of The Rock and the McMahons standing together on the back.

  27. Papuchiz says:

I was there live and it was a awesome event!! Just the matches were good equality.

  28. Sheezy says:

I never get why people complain about spoilers on ppv covers. The videos aren’t released until about a month after the event so anyone who’s a wrestling fan is going to know the results by then anyways.

    • Justin Satiable says:

Why? Because its a lazy effort, it looks cheap and gives away the result before one has yet to see it. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Bill says:

If you are a wrestling fan, you know what happened, so shut up already with the “ERRMAHGAWD SPOILERZ” crap ok?

  30. Dennis D says:

I do like the cover as it shows the moment that will resonate throughout the year and maybe longer. I would have liked to have seen a collage of moments during the show but this is still good.

  31. TheManInBlu says:

It’s an okay cover; I would’ve liked the roller coaster poster better as it does a better job of keeping the mystery 🙂 One thing though; they better have the RVD VS Ambrose match on there. It was a kickoff match but it was still part of the event. I’m getting annoyed with these *free* online kickoff matches as in the theatre where I go see the PPVs, they never show them. They start the broadcast at 8 PM and I have to wait ’till I get back home to see the kickoff match. What’s up with that? I want that match on here even though I think we all knew that the Shield would interfere and prevent RVD from winning the belt.

  32. mwoods says:

I attended the event live,& it was awesome. Now I will be picking it up 2 watch it on blu-ray. And the cover is also awesome. Randy orton new wwe champion YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

  33. ZJ says:

Again, who would buy this on DVD without already knowing the result of the main event anyway? Nobody.

  34. David says:

Great event…two 4+ star classics plus a pretty damn good undercard and the kickoff to hopefully a successful angle with the “Corporation” vs. Daniel Bryan.

HHH and Orton are natural heels and Bryan is the most over guy in the company, kind of reminding me of Austin vs. McMahon.

  35. Brad Attitude says:

I wish WWE would stick to putting the traditional poster covers for their DVD ppvs rather than a pic that gives away a result to a high profile match.

  36. MASON says:

the sad part is that every one is gonna hate on this just because its orton standing over bryan

  37. Steven says:

I’m not a DB mark but this is a let down for me I prayed for it to feature a bryan/cena cover so I could get it signed in a few months when I meet bryan now ill just get an ROH dvd signed -__-

  38. Shaun Blackford says:

I’m usually against the spoiler cover but this angle is such a big deal that it demands to be highlighted on the ppv cover, beats the roller coaster crap

  39. Daniel Bee says:

But who honestly didn’t know the ending of the PPV until seeing this cover?

I think the WWE faithful buy these things and the WWE faithful already know what went down. The DVDs hit stores a month after the PPV airs. That’s a fair few Raw & SD episodes and what not revealing what happened before this does. I think a PPV DVD is more of a way to relive an event and what better image to use on its cover than the lasting image of that event?

  40. Matt L. says:

I already saw the show….so love it. Since, ya know, it doesn’t spoil anything for me lol

  41. David says:

I am glad they are not using the poster but would have much preferred a Cena/Bryan staredown over this spoiler.

  42. lanebogus says:

Even though the cover spoils the show, it was still a hell of a show. Gonna add this to the collection.

  43. Vincenzzzzzo says:

    I like it.

  44. ALK says:

Damnit, this was a great Summerslam and yet they give it a spoiler cover.

Well, guess HHH’s heel turn won’t be a surprise for late comers then…. :/

  45. J says:

LOL Bryan fanboys aint gonna like this Hahaha

  46. SRB says:

I hate when the covers spoil the event.

    Signed,

    Everyone.
