  1. Victoria says:

Almost everyone who’s gonna buy the DVD already knows the results (i.e. WWE fans). The Champion is on top and the Girls look good and bring a sparkle to the cover (Brie, Nikki, and Steph).

  2. Jason says:

@David: 2005 was a long time ago. Times have changed and TNA haven’t done spoiler covers in years. This goes to show how low WWE’s ppv dvd buyrates are. Using spoiler covers is just plain stupid from a marketting standpoint and casual fans who haven’t seen the event will know the results before watching it. It’s not just hardcore wrestling fans picking the DVDs up.

  3. Jason says:

It’s funny how those who don’t agree with the cover gets shat on while those who do agree happen to just agree for the sake of it cos they will agree with anything WWE does. But yeah, not a good cover for the dvd. Better off using the poster for the dvd cover. I mean, as bad as TNA is at least they don’t give away results by putting it in their ppv dvds

    • David says:

Actually TNA use to spoil their PPVs on the DVDs, especially in 2005. The Destination X cover for example had Christopher Daniels front and center with the X-Division title which he won at that event.

TNA also spoiled the results for Bound for Glory 2005 on the back cover with a picture of Rhino holding the World title and mentioning he won the gauntlet match and title match against Jeff Jarrett.

I don’t think it should be considered “spoilers” if the DVD is being released 1 month or so after the air date. I’m sure 99.9% of wrestling fans who follow WWE already have own the results by then and honestly those people are the ones who are buying these DVDs. I don’t think casuals who don’t follow wrestling will spend $20 on a PPV DVD they haven’t seen or read the results on, or even watch Youtube clips.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of people that only follow WWE through their PPV DVD collection. Doesn’t really make sense.

    • Kenny says:

I think this cover design is pretty cool here, all things considered. It’s not the best cover they’ve done, but it’s better than a lot they’ve put out lately.

As far as the covers spoiling the show, let’s get real about this. The covers are not ruining the show one bit for anybody buying the PPV DVDs. The people buying them are people who follow week-to-week, and are not anybody just blindly buying a DVD because “it sounds cool.”

The ‘spoiler’ argument is tired and comes across more like people are grasping at straws for some reason (ANY reason) to complain.

      • Steve says:

No, Kenny, not all of the people buying DVD’s are watching every week. I spent 3 years following WWE solely through watching PPV’s on DVD, because I didn’t have another way to watch them. I deliberately avoided websites that would reveal results, and I essentially followed wrestling on a one month delay. I can’t tell you how many times I was frustrated by covers showing match results, to the point where my wife had to start picking up the DVD’s at Walmart, and putting them in the player for me when she got home, so that I could watch without ruining match results. I get frustrated when I read on here that the only people who have issues with these covers are the ones who want to have issues with these covers, because it just isn’t true. There are actually some wrestling fans who enjoy wrestling in a different way or on a different schedule than you, and that doesn’t mean their concerns should be dismissed out of hand.

  4. THOMAS says:

we do not have the Power to use which artwork for any event, WWE has the right to use what ever artwork they use for any event

  5. Jayke1981 says:

Well that ruins the match results. Yes, I know most fans will know the result anyway, but sometimes I like a cover to be ambiguous.

  6. THOMAS says:

    @LP1 Very indecisive? I don’t think so

    • LP1 says:

In one post you say the cover art is fantastic and looks great and in the very next post you say it should’ve been the PPV poster used as the artwork. So yeah. I think so.

  7. J says:

FU LESNAR. But pretty cool dvd art/cover for the SS 2014 dvd

  8. Bandit says:

If anyone misses out on the NWO Revolution and Wargames Blu-Rays – Best Buy still has the two of them up on their website as a two-pack for $9.99. Spend $35 at Best Buy website to get free shipping.

  9. THOMAS says:

It should have been the Promotional PPV Poster used as the artwork for SummerSlam 2014 dvd & blu ray

  10. THOMAS says:

Fantastic artwork for SummerSlam 2014 dvd

  11. THOMAS says:

John Cena is not even on the front of it for a change, Stephanie McMahon on the front of SummerSlam 2014 with her husband Triple H & The Bella Twins on the front as well with the new WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, fantastic artwork for SummerSlam 2014 dvd

  12. Victory73 says:

I’m not a fan of covers that spoil match endings.

    • attitude.era.4life says:

been that way with covers pretty much since Night of Champions 2010, so like it or not, it’s a trend here to stay.

  13. LP1 says:

Stephanie McMahon featured front and center. Lol Seriously, who didn’t see that coming?

    • Kenny says:

She WAS in a focal match on the show. I can’t complain about that. Her match and the Brock match were the two main matches, and they both made the cover. I really can’t complain about that.

  14. arroniz76 says:

Meh. The Poster depicting Lesnar and Cena side by side would’ve made a better cover.

  15. TheManInBlu says:

    stephanie neh quite big. haha

  16. Mr Hesse says:

At least there’s some design work to it as opposed to a screenshot of the main event finish.

I’m not worried about being a “spoiler”, as some say. It is just lazy.

  17. GEOLINK says:

Bella twins make the cover over John Cena… never in a million years.

    • atitude.era.4life says:

well.. it is only suitable that the cover- just like the show – has a “low-fat calory” feel to it.. a effect coming from the aaaaamazing price of 9.99 for the Network, if you have’nt heard!? you pay less in the future, you get less on the cover and in the ring.. 🙂
