WWE/WWF Tagged Classics DVDs To Be Released Outside of Europe?

December 19, 2011 by Daniel Bee

Some interesting news today concerning the possibility of similar WWE Tagged Classics DVD’s (WWF re-releases) to that of the UK, being released to another country.

That country is Australia. Speaking with the official distributor of WWE DVDs in the region, they disclosed that they are hoping to release some classic PPV events next year, such as the 2001 catalog. Nothing solid is confirmed as yet but they did reference Silver Vision’s Tagged Classics series in the UK, saying if it happens they will be the same as those.

Therefore it looks like this licensee in Australia, as was the case in the UK, is legally allowed to re-release the archive footage because they were a innocent third party amid the court battle for the WWF name, which saw the Home Video catalog being removed from sale in 2002.

It all sounds promising for Aussie fans!

  5. Aaron says:

I am pumped but i hope it wont cost alot but still finally us aussies can get old wwf pvvs without needing to buy a multi region dvd player or anything. Awesome

  6. CM Vag says:

really great releases that can help you add some interesting footage on your collection! some of them really can NOT be found!

  7. georges says:

This would be awesome, but hopefully they dont start at 2001, at least go back to the 90s, would give us the chance to finally get the survivor series 97-2001 since they wont release the anthology and all the king of the rings instead of the best of.

  8. Isrs4life says:

    Why no Canadians?

  9. Josh Baker says:

    YESSSS AUSTRALIAN TAGGED CLASSICS FTW!

  10. Dave says:

    @ Arlene

It is really doubtful NA will get tagged classics. The closet was those double packs they had from 2003 and 2004.

You can always get a region free dvd player which are cheap and get the UK tagged classics from ebay or Amazon.co.uk. I live in Canada and did that. Was definitely worth it, some say the frame rate from PAL to NTSC would make them unwatchable but i think it’s fine.

  11. Arlene says:

Are they available in the states too? I am asking because I’d buy them if so.

    • Daniel Bee says:

Not available in the states. It looks like only overseas licensees can release them. Maybe WWE could make it happen at home too if they really wanted, I’m not sure anymore!

  12. Daniel Bee says:

After a word in my ear I would like to stress nothing is confirmed as yet for Australia, it’s just a possibility. Though I think I made that clear in the article.

  13. Rob L says:

Any chance of the states ever getting these?

  14. The Animal Natedogg says:

fuck yeah im aussie i hope its happens woooohooo

  15. LP1 says:

@Brett Mix, you can also just order them from the Amazon UK site. They ship to the US pretty quickly. I’ve ordered from them in the past and received the DVD’s in 6 days.

  16. Brett Mix says:

I’m Canadian and for us North American’s, you can always order Tagged classic’s on E-Bay or go through paypal from an inside trader to get PPV events like I did. But still, congrats Australa

  17. PenLOLbury says:

HELL YEAH, for once australia is good

  18. Stacey says:
