Exclusive: New WWE DVD on The Rock Gets A Name Change

January 10, 2012 by Daniel Bee

Before the new year we broke the news of the planned name for The Rock’s new DVD and Blu-ray release – The Epic Adventure of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Today WWE’s Home Video schedule was updated and the name has changed slightly, so it looks like they, or Rocky himself, had a change of heart.

The Epic Journey of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Perhaps the feedback on sites like ours about the original name had something to do with it. For more info on this release check out the reveal post here.

The new Rock DVD/Blu-ray is released on February 21st, available to pre-order now.

On a side note, Triple H’s DVD has not been added back to the schedule as of this writing.

Rock just posted a picture of the DVD cover on Twitter. I love it. Who cares about the name!

  2. Steve says:

he just shouldnt have made the statement that he’d “never leave again”

  3. nick says:

Stone Cold hasn’t had a match in 9 years and I thought his dvd was pretty good so I don’t mind a rock dvd coming out because he is a hell of a lot more entertaining than anyone on the roster today.

Fans wanted the Rock back, he comes back, has match at Survivor Series, Wrestlemania match in 3 months, what more do you want out of this man?

  4. Lexes75 says:

I Honnestly think that he doesn´t deserve a dvd for 2012!!
The one and only thing they have that is from 2011, are his short conversasions with John cena. for the rest he did NOTHING.

Dont get me wrong,.. i´m no Rock hater!

But lately everyone in that ring is talking about earning and deserving things.
All of those guys work there ass off,.. and Dwayne is the one with the dvd,… get the picture?

I am almost thinking that there are not as much movie takes he has to do,.. so to keep the money flowing he returns to the WWE. (i know thats far from true)

I think i just cant stand the fact that he is shouting his frases like boots 2 asses,.. and shouting he was borne for the WWEring,.. when he just had about what,..3 or 4 fights in 7 years.

Dude,.. be an actor ore be a wrestler,.. you cant manage to do both,.. thats clear for everyone!!

Well, that’s somewhat better; “journey” sounds less cartoonish.

  6. indyfan says:

still sounds lame but hey its not about name or cover.. its about content

  7. Harry Faversham says:

Still sounds a little bit too much like ‘Dwayne THE ROCK Johnson’s Big Day Out at the Wrestling’. Still sure it will be a good DVD though.

  8. SafGuy says:

These 5 Titles i have come up with:

1.The People’s Champion Dwayne The Rock Johnson,
2.The Great One Dwayne The Rock Johnson,
3.Laying The Smackthdown Dwayne The Rock Johnson,
4.Loved by Millions The Journey of Dwayne The Rock Johnson,
5.Rock Bottom Dwayne The Rock Johnson.

Let me know guys what you think. 🙂

  9. straightedge47 says:

I guess that’s a little better, I still can’t stand the word epic though, a word mostly used by complete tools :/….

  10. Evan McFarlane says:

The title isn’t ideal, however it’s slightly better than the last one.

  11. Evan McFarlane says:

I don’t think i’m the only one saying, Thank God!

  12. Brandon says:

Not really a fan of the word “epic” so it feels a little cringe-worthy to me.

  13. SRB says:

The Epic Journey of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson…. Maybe if Rock was still doing his Survivor Series 96 gimmick I could see this title. But this man has had countless battles with SCSA, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, HHH, Jericho and now Cena. I just don’t see the journey as epic. I never looked at the title as that it had 1 or 2 annoying words, the entire thing was very wrong. It doesn’t fit Rock’s character or accomplishments one bit. The title would have worked better for guys like Rey Mysterio or even the Big Show. I dont see this as an improvment

  14. Anonymous says:

    That’s even worse…

  15. John31 says:

I don’t like the words “The Epic Journey….”, sounds like a kids show.

  16. Geolink says:

    It’s still crap.

  17. captain planet says:

Better, but still needs less epic.

  18. Aaron says:

They need to take “Epic” out of the title

  19. Anonymous says:

    Still not too good

  20. Atleast it’s better than the older one. That sounded like something Disney had made

  21. Atleast it’s better than the older one. That sounded like something Disney would make.

  22. WWEBluFan says:

LOL. In the comments of the original story, I actually wrote that they should change it from Epic “Adventure” to Epic “Journey.”

  23. Daniel Bee says:

    Small change, big improvement. 🙂

  24. Nelson7 says:

That’s still terrible title for The Rock’s DVD.

  25. Charisma says:

Oh my god! Such a drastic change xD
