The DVD and Blu-ray feature is scheduled to hit stores across the United States on September 11th, one week prior to the Home Video release of SummerSlam 2012.
As recently revealed, “Once in a Lifetime” will chronicle the year-long feud, by extending the previous documentary of the same name, whilst compiling the promos and culminating matches into one package. It’s also likely to be in place of a second Greatest Rivalries title this year.
SummerSlam 2012 is now available at this link to pre-order on both DVD and Blu-ray formats for North America. The release date is September 18th.

The latest WWE DVD has just hit the UK and Europe – The Best of WCW Clash of the Champions is now in stock at this link. The Blu-ray follows next month.
The WWEShop offer we’re calling the “WWE DVD deal of the year” is still available. It’s the full package of 2011 WWE PPV DVDs on sale for just $39.99 over here. You can also take $5 off the total order cost using our promo code DVDWWE5.
Overseas buyers can get the most out of the deal by adding one or more products to your order to total $50, then applying code 50TAKE15. This is reportedly cutting international shipping to just $9 and giving a further discount too. It’s worth checking.
This truly is truly good news. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Cool
I’m thinking those DVD only extras (Top 50 Finishing Moves in WWE History) will be on a bluray exclusive somewhere, not too worried about this announcement until it comes out and is definite.
The article states Silver Vision already confirmed that is the case (they did, on Twitter). It’s a very reliable source since they’re the ones with the masters from WWE, to see exactly what content is on the discs.
Cena might be doing all these wishes but I bet he doesn’t even gives a damn about the fans, all the Let’s go Cena Cena sucks chants, I used to be a fan of his when he first won the WWE title till 2007 that’s when he never lost.
be careful because “Vincenzzzzzo” might show and get angry LOL. he does it every time people doesn’t agree with what is in his mind.
Cena sucks!
You do know it’s fixed right?
“Cena doesn’t lose” – what a mark!
Say what you want but Cena loves what he does…it’s not his fault creative make him “Super Cena”…even if he turns heel fans and the especially the internet wrestling community will still hate him…that’s the problem with internet fans they think making so and so heel will automatically make them amazing. All Internet fans are arm chair bookers thinking they know how to run a wrestling company…but absolutely have no clue.
I just think he sucks, and everyone that complains about people hating on Cena need to relax about their hero being trashed.. Its preference people! I don’t see Cena coming on this site and protecting his beloved Cenation… Do any of you?
Cena must be too busy with his fans and not come on this site to tell the haters what he really thinks about us lol.
Yea but I don’t even have a Best Buy Near me and my local Walmart even though is a super Walmart is not going to have this on dvd or blu ray so that’s why I made the offer .Also they not going to carry the new Undertaker one either on dvd or Blu ray I asked them already heck they don’t even have Fright Night on Blu ray and that’s been out for awhile and they never carried the new ECW one either ..Yes My Walmart Sucks .
Yea but I don’t live anywhere near Best Buy and my Walmart is not going to have either dvd or blu ray so I figure I make an cool offer for it .
I am also going to have to find a way to get The Undertaker one as well since my Walmart not getting that either .Yes Our Walmart my be super Walmart but they suck .They don’t even have Fright Night on Blu ray
Just so you know you can get the Falls Count Anywhere Dvd and BluRay cheaper from Best buy. They’re on sale for 16.99 for DVD and 17.99 for BluRay. Plus free shipping.
Would be nice if they had the Rock or Cena or both (either together
or separate) to do guest commentary on their Wrestlemania match. And
also another feature could be the music video of the match – which they
will have available when NBC shows that Wrestlemania special later this summer. Not sure if I’m getting this or not – one of friends will – hes a huge Rock fan – hes glad they are doing this as he lost his recording of the Once In A Lifetime Special when trying to make his own Rock-Cena DVD – with the special, a few interviews and the match.
I guess I’m in the minority here because I’m also quite glad WWE is making this. Not to say I wouldn’t prefer another Greatest Rivalries set over it, but Rock/Cena was one of the most memorable feuds in recent memory and it had a magic to it. Can that really be denied? Even if it didn’t live up to every expectation, it was still special.
Hell, The Rock just being back to do all those promos was special to me, and still is hard to believe he came back and wrestled more than once. I would quite like a compilation of those moments and I’m sure the documentary will be well made. My gripe is that in all likelihood the DVD won’t have Rock and Cena sitting down to give their thoughts on it all.
I agree with you there Daniel…looking forward to this set, was hoping JR would have a sitdown interview with both discussing their beef. It would have been really interesting to watch hearing from both sides.
Some people don’t understand these Greatest Rivalries series doesn’t really work for kayfabe storylines…people always say Rock/Austin, but don’t understand these guys were like brothers behind the scenes and haven’t read any legitimate heat between them, so them just sitting for 2 hrs discussing their kayfabe rivalry, and kissing each others ass would be pretty boring. That’s what made Bret/HBK so great, considering the hate they had for a decade.
I think anytime you get Rock and Austin in the same room (or ring) it aint boring, but I get what you mean. Judging by Rock’s comments in his latest DVD, the two were extremely competitive over the top spot. That’s something at least.
You’re right, there was real heat to this Rock/Cena rivalry in the beginning. Also, Cena never quite explained why he had such a problem with Rock leaving. He went as far as saying on a radio interview that Rock was “f’ing the fans around”, so it’d be interesting to hear about that from both guys. Problem might be other than that there may have been no real heat going forward. I’m guessing they worked out most of their differences as Rock returned. Anyways, we’re getting a documentary so that aint happening. 😕
It’ll be nice if they manage to have Rock provide new commentary for it though. No problems getting Cena. It’ll feel incomplete without their own perspectives.
So in terms of feuds where guys had legitimate heat, what’s left? Chris Benoit vs. Kevin Sullivan is all I can think of! Lol.
Hmm, Trips and Jericho had legitimate heat backstage according to some folk but whilst I liked their feud, I wouldn’t say it was historic or lengthy enough to document in one of these sets.
If There is one “move” that should be as far away from a Best Finishers DVD as possible, it’s the Stinkface. What a disgrace for that to be on there.
I guarantee you they will EXTENDING the original feature to make up for the fact that they haven’t paid for the rights to any of the music from it.
I would think they have the Flo Rida and MGK songs already taken care of since those songs were already used on both the Royal Rumble ’12 and Mania 28 releases. As for any other songs, I don’t know.
Nice! Can’t wait to pick up this Bluray. I’m glad they chose to release the Once In A Lifetime documentary. Some good promos in there too.
Whatever Vincenzzzzzo. That’s really dumb; we know you’ll like it. Good promos, my crack! Get over it already!
(N.B. I would never actually post a comment that randomly mean, and I do like the promos. I’m just showing Vincenzzzzzo what it’s like when HE posts nasty comments for no reason).
🙂
You don’t need to add items to your order to get that offer off the year pack sent to UK. The dvds cost $40, p&p $26 which takes it over $50. Use that offer code and your code from site and the total, delivered cost to UK works out at just under £30.
Yes, this is the deal of the year.
You’ve got to spend more than $50 on merch (excluding shipping) before you can use the 50take15 code.
No, you don’t. I did it on Saturday. Here is my receipt:
Merchandise Subtotal: $39.99
Sales Tax: $0.00
Shipping: $10.75
Discount: $5.00
GrandTotal:$45.74
In UK money, this is £29.37 as of the current exchange rate.
You used the code DVDWWE5? As you can’t have used 50take15, because it only applies to orders above $50 (exc. shipping). Also if you did somehow use 50take15 your missing about $0.99 discount.
i don’t know how i did it, but i used both of them codes and that was my final bill. It may be an error on their behalf but I am not arguing about it.
You can only use one code per order so it’s the dvdwwe5 you used. The other wouldn’t of worked anyway.
The original bill, before I put BOTH codes in had shippIng at $26. The 1st code brought it down to $10.75 an then the other code took $5 more off.
As I said, I don’t know why or how this worked, I just happy it did.
11 of the 13 DVDs are out of stock so the wait will be at least 6 weeks to receive them.
The idea of this dvd makes good business sense for WWE. However this is the most overrated rivalry in WWE history. And for all who cant read carefully this isn’t a dvd bash (lets face it, the dvd is great for the “universe”), this is a Cena/Rock rivalry bash because Pro Wrestling fans will agree that this was a horribly handled feud.
Could the feud have been handled better? Absolutely. But the bottom line is that this feud produced the biggest ppv buyrate in WWE history. There really isn’t a reasonable way to say it was handled horribly.
Yes it was the highest grossing PPV, but you cant say that Rock vs Cena was the only reason behind it. You had The Undertaker return after a year off to continue a well thought out feud being handled by The Undertaker and Triple H, it was the dream match of Y2J and CM Punk, and I guarantee the fact that The Rock was finally wrestling at Wrestlemania brought in fans who didn’t watch anymore.
The feud was a year in the making. You could have had this brewing for a whole year to the point where in September you couldn’t wait to see this match, like a Bret vs Shawn or Hogan vs Sting. This feud had that magic, but the feud and match did not live up to its expectation. IMO
Does anyone remember when a DVD called The Top 50 Finishing Moves in WWE History was first announced, and almost everyone crapped all over it? Then when the match listing and content were revealed, almost everyone loved it?
Why don’t we wait to see the finished project before passing judgment?
100% agree with you to not judge the dvd before you know more, but at the same time you can’t blame Wrestling fans for expressing their distaste for a disappointing rivalry.. DVD Standpoint = Good idea and profitable
This thing will sell big time. I’m not excited about it, but The Rock and John Cena both move a lot of units in retail. From a business standpoint, this release is a no-brainer.
If anybody going to get the WWE Falls Count Anywhere blu ray and wants to trade let me know I have an amazing offer for it thanks .valacbynon@yahoo.com
what a waste of a dvd!
Boo hoo! go cry more.
You know people that complain about a DVD/Blu-ray will still end up picking it up…you’re probably one of them.
@ Dave – agreed.
Now really is not a time for WWE to experiment with format exclusive extras, instead of making me want to buy both formats I feel it’s more likely I’ll skip titles altogether or at the very least wait for some sort of sale.
