  1. Mongoose Wizard says:

Daniel Bee is the Raven Vs Dreamer match the same from Rise and Fall of ECW because my insert says 6-6-97 where this list says 6-7-97?

  2. X-23 says:

Here are some ideas for rivalries and matches I would include

John Cena vs. Edge – Backlash 2009
John Cena vs. Randy Orton – SummerSlam 2009 or Bragging Rights 2009
John Cena vs. The Nexus – SummerSlam 2010
John Cena vs. CM Punk – Night of Champions 2012
Randy Orton vs. Triple H – No Mercy 2007
Randy Orton vs. Christian – SummerSlam 2011
Batista vs. The Undertaker – Survivor Series 2007
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho – Judgment Day 2008
Edge vs. Jeff Hardy – Royal Rumble 2009
Edge & Christian vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz – WrestleMania 17
The Rock vs. Mankind – Halftime Heat 1999
Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart – SummerSlam 1994
The Ultimate Warrior vs. Randy Savage – SummerSlam 1992
Sting vs. Vader – WCW Starrcade 1992 or SuperBrawl 1993
WWE vs. WCW/ECW Alliance – Survivor Series 2001

From your list, the only ones that brought everything (great matches, compelling story, quality interviews) are the following:
      Michaels vs. Jericho
      Rock vs. Mankind
      Sting vs. Vader

The rest fell short in one (or sometimes more) than one way and shouldn’t be anywhere near the top 25.

      Rivalries yet to Be Revealed:
      Flair vs. Race
      Piper vs. Hogan
      Hogan vs. Orndorff
      Dusty vs. Horsemen
      Steamboat vs. Savage
      Flair vs. Luger
      Sting vs. Flair
      Rude vs. Roberts
      Hogan vs. Savage
      Funk vs. Flair
      Flair vs. Steamboat
      Sting vs. Vader
      Flair vs. Savage
      Bret vs. Austin
      Rock vs. Foley
      HBK vs. HHH
      Austin vs. Rock
      McMahon vs. Austin
      Austin vs. Angle
      Cena vs. Edge
      HBK vs. Y2J

  3. Kenny says:

Was it the Judgement Day match with Hunter vs. Rock that was the Iron Man match with Shawn as the ref?

  4. SteelEdge says:

Shame there’s no matches new to DVD. Got these matches on the Savage set, Rise and Fall Of ECW, and Rock’s first 3 disc set. I do like that they are including the Dreamer/Raven feud though. But I can’t say this will be an immediate purchase, I’ll probably wait until a price drop/sale.

  5. RazorwireRyan says:

Fantastic start! Always thought Trips/Rock was an underrated feud, and their Backlash match was incredible, pure unadulterated entertainment at its best. Very cool to see the amazing Dreamer/Raven feud get a nod too. I’m guessing they’re moving away from single releases and just doing this big compilation instead. Slighlty disappointing as I was dying for a Shawn/Bret style release of Austin/Rock and Jericho/Michaels

  6. King Jimmeh says:

Nice to see this is “…in Wrestling History” and not just WWE so we can get feuds like Raven/Dreamer and some talk about WCW, AWA, NWA and other classic rivalries.

  7. J. S. says:

Bruno Sammartino vs. Larry Zbyszko. Would be awesome to include this feud.

  8. Mongoose Wizard says:

I’m really happy to see Raven VS Dreamer always loved seeing their matchs!

  9. Nick says:

Jack Brisco vs Dory Funk jr
    Verne Gagne vs Nick Bockwinkel

These 2 should be included but probably wont because people know jack shit about wrestling history. There is no way the top 25 rivalries happened in the last 25 years.

  10. Yarp says:

    Rivalries to Be Revealed (Hopefully:

HBK vs. Y2J; Rock vs. Foley; HHH vs. Foley; HBK vs. HHH; Bret vs. Austin; Austin vs. Rock; McMahon vs. Austin; Flair vs. Steamboat; Sting vs. Vader; Flair vs. Sting; Foley vs. Undertaker; Undertaker vs. HBK; Piper vs. Hogan; Kane vs. Undertaker; Midnight Express vs. Rock n Roll Express; Dusty Rhodes vs. 4 Horsemen; Angle vs. Lesnar; Cena vs. Edge; Punk vs. Cena; Punk vs. Hardy; Eddie vs. Rey

  11. fer says:

it’s not gonna be in there , but no great rivalries list is completed without Awesome/Tanaka,

  12. Eric Bischoff says:

If Austin/Rock is on here(and I’d be shocked if it wasn’t) there are two lesser known matches I’d like to see. The first is the night after WM17, which was only on a DVD called “Action!” which came out in 2001. The first was the Raw before WM14, which is unreleased. At the time Austin was about to win the World Title while Rock was IC champion. We’ll probably see one of their Wrestlemania matches, though.

  13. Eric Bischoff says:

I wonder if this will be the Best Buy exclusive. WWE is doing Blu-Ray exclusives, too, so it might be that, also.

  14. Eric Bischoff says:

Sooo what else do you guys wanna see? Who will appear multiple times? Hogan I’m sure, probably Rock and Austin also.

  15. Eric Bischoff says:

Rock/HHH has only been on one other set –the Rocks set which came out in 2008. Originally Backlash 2000 only came out on VHS.

  16. Roaster says:

I would rather just have a Greatest Rivalries: Triple H vs The Rock set. They’ve had so many matches with so many different stipulations. Cage,2 out 3 falls,I quit, ladder, strap, etc

  17. Eric Bischoff says:

The Iron Man isn’t gonna be on here people. It takes up too much space. By having only 25 rather than 50 theoretically we can have a match for every rivalry….however, I’m not optimistic of that since there isn’t an extra for Hardys/E&C/Dudleys, although we might hear about it later. Remember that WWE is considering casual fans and not just people who buy everything. They have to show off their good matches as much as they can.

  18. Hollywood says:

Hogan vs Andre should be #1. They soled out the Silver Dome for WM3, they drew the highest rating ever for Pro Wrestling with their rematch on NBC, and main evented the first Survivor Series and Summer Slam.

    • Anonymous says:

And they had terrible matches. It’s also worth noting that the rivalry featured some of Hogan’s worst acting and that covers a lot of ground. This is certainly a rivalry that has to be included and is historic for the reasons you mentioned, but it’s FAR from the greatest rivalry of all time from an in-ring, storyline, or on the microphone perspective.

  19. BigDawg says:

Hope this Blu-Ray included HHH vs Rock IronMan Match from 2000 Judgement Day!

  20. Anonymous says:

While I agree with the selections of rivalries listed above, the match listing stinks. Hopefully there’s some unreleased gems still to come. Otherwise, I’ll be passing on this regardless of pricing.

One of the things that makes a great rivalry is multiple great matches. They really should have been able to find another Rock/HHH match. Surely it shouldn’t be hard for them to put out lots of unreleased stuff. Rock/HHH aside, another perfect example of this is with the Flair/Steamboat rivalry. They’ve put out all of their pay-per-view and Clash matches. This set should have their last ever and much shorter, but still outstanding, summer 1994 match from WCW Main Event.

  21. Scsa says:

Looks boring so far 🙁 except triple h vs rock. + It should have been ‘only WWE Rivlaries’!
+ with this dvd/blu-ray, have they stopped making ‘Greatest Rivlaries’ like the Hbk vs Hart set? There really needs to b 1 of those for Austin Vs Rock n Austin Vs McMahon!

  22. SteelEdge says:

Three matches I already own on other WWE DVD sets? Poor start, although I do like that the Dreamer/Raven feud will be covered. Hopefully some rarer matches are on there too. Can’t see this being a set I get straight away really, will probably wait for a price drop/sale.

  23. KarlKayfabian says:

    *iron man

  24. KarlKayfabian says:

They wouldnt even need to put out the hour man match…there are plenty of unreleased matches between these two that took place on RAW and Smackdown!

  25. KarlKayfabian says:

Swing and a big miss…strike one.

  26. Trey says:

Please let the Triple H/Rock Iron Man Match be on this collection! That match is long overdue for a DVD release!

  27. wrestlingfan says:

    cool I like it already..

  28. @imdjluis says:

Wow, I didn’t expect them to visit any ECW rivalries, but that was a good choice.

  29. Steve says:

Oh here come the repeats! Put Rock-Triple H Judgment Day 2000 instead! I don’t care that it will take an hour of a disc! No match categorizes a rivalry more than that match.
But instead we will probably get Undertaker vs. Mankind Hell in a Cell & a million Wrestlemania matches. WWE Home Video could screw up a wet dream.

    • Glorious says:

You got “gems” in Bret, Nitro, Finishers, and ECW. Are they supposed to dig up dead bodies at this point to create things that don’t exit?

      • Steve says:

Yeah makes much more sense to release things that have been released already. I’m sure you own multiple copies of the same movie also don’t you?

        • Glorious says:

That doesn’t make any sense. Movies are constantly being created. If Wrestler A and Wrestler B have wrestled 10 times and they released all 10 versions, what other gems are there? Everyone acts like WWE is holding out on so many things, and that they don’t do research, when clearly in the past year they have shown that they do research and have tried to give these “gems”. Yet when they do, aka Mick Foley’s release, no one is excited about the matches, when anything worth owning of Mick Foley wrestling has already been released.

If Rock-HHH Iron Man is on here, disc space alone, all other 25 rivalries cannot get a match. It makes more sense to get most of the 25 rivalries on there as well, because then people will complain. At the end of the day, people will always complain, but I’m starting to think the problem is the consumer, not the company.

          • Steve says:

You are right there will always be criticism & yes the iron man match will take up space and will hopefully be released on his Blu Ray this year. My point is that I want new material. I don’t want to watch the same match a million times for no good reason. This is a greatest rivalries compilation. To me that means there are multiple matches that these rivals have had and therefore a long list too choose from. Lets be real also, WWE Home Video does not do a great job with most DVD’s. The good releases are the ones that are influenced by the talent involved. The ones that pick tere favorite matches and the ones that stand out for being good quality and not on the biggest stage. WWE home video also loves to feature matches so current talent or people who are in good standing with the company can get a royalty check.

  30. Vincenzzzzzo says:

The perfect match to tell the story of the Triple H / Rock rivalry is their Iron Man match from Judgment Day 2000. I would have included that match on here, but….

    Looks good so far.

    • @imdjluis says:

That was an ok match. I’d rather see their 2-out-of-3 falls match at Fully Loaded 1998 or their ladder match at SummerSlam 1998.

      • Trey says:

Both of those have already been released on previous sets. Go check them out there. Let’s get something new!

  31. Oz says:

Well they will be unblurred, I am just hoping for strong content

  32. Tommy D says:

Ugh….Three repeat matches. I didn’t have high hopes for this Blu Ray to begin with.

  33. Nate says:

Three matches…..three repeats so far. Let’s see how the rest of the match listing shapes up.
