I think they should have added for the Foley(Mankind) vs Triple H Rivalry either the Canadian Stampede,King of the Ring,or Summerslam 1997 match,so a match could represent the feud, while not going into the overly duplicated 2000 Matches. Or Hell, the Wrestlemania 2000 4-Way to represent HHH-Foley AND HHH-Rock(which I’m sure is on here),unless they plan on putting the Judgement Day 2000 Iron Man Match for HHH-Rock,then I will unquestionably be excited for this set on that match alone,so hoping that the long-awaited love for that match is finally shown on this set,for that rivalry, tho I am kinda disappointed that Rock vs Austin in the Cage after WM17 isn’t included, tho the Rebellion 2001 is still a welcome addition over the overly duplicated Wrestlemania Trilogy, and In Your House-DX 1997 PPV Matches(and the most recent Backlash 99 match that has snuck in alot in the last couple years).
And Yes I am a complete idiot,as I forgot that Rock vs HHH was confirmed already, and that their Backlash 2000 match was the representation for it. Stupid me,but really hoping the Judgement Day 2000 Match is on the Triple H set then later this year. Not sure why that match hasn’t gotten the love it deserves in WWE Home Video(in the US) Releases.
The Rock-Austin match is the first good selection on this set. This set is a train wreck. These countdown type sets are just always a mess.
They seem to be choosing rivalries that stretch over a good length of time. This likely means they’ll also include Flair-Steamboat, Flair-Sting, Hogan-Savage, Hart-Michaels, and Austin-McMahon, to name a few.
I’d love to see Austin vs. McMahon, Flair vs. Steamboat, and Hart vs. Michaels, even though they had a set devoted to them already. Even though this set is probably individual/tag team rivalries, I wouldn’t mind seeing WWE vs. WCW or WCW vs. nWo.
David-You better not do the every few days match listing reveal on every release or I am going to kick your damn ass
I bet Vince vs Austin will be one of them
The title should be renamed “Top rivalries in the LAST 25 years”
It’s a shame that Cm Punk and Jeff Hardy’s feud is not on here, those two had some great matches and promos, hell, those two deserve a whole dvd
Looking forward to this DVD very, very much.
The Rebellion match is the only time Rock and Austin had a singles match during the WCW/ECW Invasion and the only time where Austin fought as a heel.
It was a good match but not as good as their WrestleMania matches. Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle was also on the same card. That was a good match too…
eh so far but its about time 01 rebellion austin rock match is on a dvd should of been on rock 08 2012 or austn dvds its a lost gem
It
It was already on the Rebellion DVD
I would have prefered the Stone Cold/Rock match from WM 19
you can just pick up that match from stone cold’s bottom line dvd or wrestlemania 19.
I’d like to see more of the UK PPVs. There is probably some good unreleased stuff on there.
Is that the Cena-Edge cage match where the entire tag division runs in (the one on the last cage match DVD)? Or a different one?
The Rebellion match is a neat thing to get.
Yes, it is the same match off the cage match dvd set.
Austin/Rock is a nice surprise. That’s another one for Greatest Rivalries: Austin vs Rock if we ever get it.
Is it really necessary to reveal 2 to 3 matches every few days? Just give us the whole damn match listing already!
4 more and it’s all out! It’s a bit of fun and something to look forward to each day. God forbid.
This idea of everyday revealing little bits is pretty good. Keeps me coming back to see whats revealed next. I think this would be a good idea for future dvds as well
I agree, it gives one a sense of hope. If it sucks (like it has so far), at least you can tell yourself, “Maybe it will get better tomorrow.” It is basically like getting a brand new match listing everyday. Kudos to Danny and Mark for the creative marketing idea.
P.S.
I think you guys here at the ‘News are getting the rubbish out of the way first and saving the more noteworthy stuff for the later days. 🙂
You hope. 😉
when it’s all done, please make a complete post that has all the matches on one page. thanks
We will do, and the countdown probably in spoiler tags.
KarlKayfabian,
You mentioned the boot camp match. Well, if they include Flair/Steamboat from WCW Main Event summer 1994 and hopefully Flair/Funk from SuperBrawl 2000, then I could care less about the repeats myself. Of course, any one of the three matches we’ve mentioned are unlikely given the nature of the other matches they’ve included this far.
I sure hope they cover RnR vs Mx, Birds vs Von Erichs and Magnum vs Nikita. Too much Triple H IMO already.
I think this DVD should have been the “Top 50” instead of just 25. I’d like to see some WCW and NWA feuds showcased more. I like this DVD so far, though. I don’t think we’ll see any gems get released on this set. Seems more of a mainstream release like Top 50 Finishers.
If they include Sgt. Slaughter vs Iron Sheik with the Bootcamp Match, then I could care less about how many repeats are on this thing.
Good selections for rivalries in this particular update, but the match listings from these first three updates absolutely suck. Furthermore, I’m still waiting on some classic NWA 1980s rivalries. Flair/Steamboat, Flair/Funk, and Flair/Sting could easily and objectively be the greatest three rivalries of all time.
Looks like what you really want is both of Ric Flair’s DVD sets.
Most of these seem fairly new – 2000 and forward. I wonder if we will see any classic rivalries like the Freebirds vs. the Von Erichs or Dusty Rhodes vs. Harley Race.
Well, at least its not Cena VS Edge the TLC Match for the billionth time…
