May 6, 2012 by Daniel Bee

Thanks to YouTuber dblock5786, here’s a video look at the full packaging design for the WWE WrestleMania 28 DVD.

WrestleMania 28 is released this coming Tuesday on DVD and Blu-ray [Get yours here].

WWEShop has several exclusive WM28 DVD/BD packages available over here.

A new update on the Top 50 Finishing Moves DVD, revealed to be in the works back in February. A Cue Entertainment article published in the UK makes reference to the release, confirming it’s still scheduled. We are expecting this to be released to the United States in August.

A Blu-ray version is also likely. Thanks to Thomas Goodearl for the pic!

We have received some new information which suggests a new Walmart exclusive “Double Feature” pack on Stone Cold Steve Austin is scheduled to be released in June. If that goes ahead expect to see two past Austin WWE DVDs bundled together at budget price.

Jim Ross talks new WWE DVDs in his latest two blog entries on JRsBarBQ.com.

New WWE Home Video DVD on Clash of Champions brings back great memories, there were more than I’ve admitted, in WCW w/ @tonyschiavone24 and the great Bob Caudle. Ric Flair put @Sting on the map in their 45 minute draw on Clash 1 in Greensboro.. .my 1st event in the famous, Greensboro Coliseum. Tony is broadcasting baseball for the Gwinnett Braves and loving life. I’m happy he’s living his baseball dream.

I’m doing an interview soon for the @CMPunk DVD that is in production. Might do more. Punk is ‘hands on’ w/ WWE Home Video on this project. Punk is ’emotionally invested’ in this project which is why he’s a star ala @steveaustinBSR. So, young talents…go the EXTRA mile.

Best of WCW Clash of the Champions is shipping later this month (pre-order), whilst the CM Punk DVD is slated for September 2012 release.

If I’m not mistaking but this Stone Cold Steve Austin Collection is going to be the same that was released at FYE stores a couple months back. If you check out the UPC… it’s the exact same number.

  2. Charlie1185 says:

Hopefully one of the Austin DVDs is Legacy. I never picked that one up

    • StingaLing says:

…yeah, that’s unacceptable. Legacy is a MUST OWN set, one of the few in company history. It’s super cheap on amazon…

  3. Anonymous says:

Pftt fuck this top 50 shit and make a attitude era set but focus on the year 2000 more because we have seen most of the 98/99 moments. but there is still some 98/99 moments that have never been released too

I would have to see more from the finishers set before forming an opinion. That’s a set I would actually like to see Kayfabe’d, go all out explaining what the move is supposed to do, etc. No clue what they put on for matches, they should really limit it to two-discs

  5. Claude says:

The finishers DVD set could be okay, it will be incomplete though as I’m certain no Gringo Killer will be included.

    • Claude says:

      No Canadian Destroyer either… 🙁

      • Anonymous says:

Actually, Trevor Murdoch did the Canadian Destroyer and Shane Helms did the Gringo Killer back when it was called the Vertebreaker. It’s unlikely either will be on there, but still within the realm of possibility.

  6. I really do not want to see a top 50 Finishers DVD. I could see it dragging on and what exactly do they put in for the matches?

  7. VinceM says:

Does anybody know if the blu ray of wrestlemania 28 will be region free seeming as its not on the silvervision website and i dont know if its going to be on there

  8. Steve says:

It’s truly amazing how Daniel can make 15 incredible fantasy concepts yet WWE is working on the 50 greatest finishers. That has got to be the dumbest DVD idea yet. I give them credit for the ones this year however I take some back for the fact that they are 7.5 hours on 3 discs. I hope the next idea is best of the boogeyman or the rise and fall of Smokey Mountain Wrestling.

    • Vincenzzzzzo says:

Hold on a minute… You crap on WWE for releasing a DVD set based on wrestlers finishing moves (which could actually be a great set), but you want to see a…. Best of….Boogyman?!?!?!? seriously?

    • Anonymous says:

Countdowns are a quick easy thing to do. That’s why.

    • DrFever says:

I’d be down for a Smokey Mountain Wrestling set!!! The tag matches alone. Think about what Cornette pulled off. He got the battles between RnR Express vs. Bodies on WCW & WWF TV as Smokey Mountain Wrestling.

  9. StingaLing says:

As shitty as any Top 50 set is, the WWE has already killed it this year with sets! Clash of the Champions, ECW Unreleased, and a Streak DVD? And that Falls Count Anywhere set has potential. The last couple of years have sucked but 2012 is looking good!

  10. Rocko says:

They really are running out of ideas for dvd sets. Top 50 Finishers? I can go type that into Youtube and get a few thousand videos which aren’t filtered through McMahon. I can already pretty much guess the top 5. And yet this will get released while we still wait for Rick Rude, Ted DiBiase, Sting, War Games and the US Title (among others) to get proper sets. I understand they are trying to appeal to the kiddies with something simple and fast moving but come on.

    • SRB says:

Rick Rude huh? Sir, you and I are on the same exact page

    • SRB says:

Top 50 anything at this point is worth a pass in my book unless it’s the top 50 matches and even those are probably on other sets. Not too sure why WWE isn’t going head on with the top 50 idea and giving us something decent like a matches compilation. Instead we get 50 finishers, 50 moments and 50 superstars. The idea of a 50 set ater 50 set just isn’t that great. From WWE’s view they are probably trying to countdown history, but it isn’t that easy, too many grey areas and too many opinions. I really liked the title compilations they made and would like them to continue with the women’s title, tag titles and US title. Of all of the themed WWE releases I am so surprised they decided that this was the one worth continuing. In my view the 50 sets are the least interesting and are poorly developed. Survivor Series was left unfinished as was the Raw sets and theres no excuse for that. But rest assured you can expect plenty more of these 50 sets in the future. Titles like, “Top 50 Batista injuries” and “Top 50 Entrances” will make the cut soon enough.

      • Daniel Bee says:

To be honest I enjoyed watching the Top 50 Superstars countdown even if the rankings were messed up. I thought “OMG” was a big let down for something with great potential, but I’m actually looking forward to Top 50 Finishers. These Top 50 sets are definitely something to sit down and watch with buds (maybe some pizza or alcohol too) who also enjoy wrestling, just not take too seriously and have a good time with.

  11. Billy says:

Awesome packaging as always for the Wrestlemania DVD.

  12. Bill says:

    So pretty

  13. Geolink says:

WrestleMania 28 DVD packaging looks so nice as usual… I know the Blu-ray won’t even have that many pictures on the inside. But I hope the Blu-ray will come with the outer sleeve.

    • Dave says:

I read on another forum and someone that got the Blu-ray said it came in a nice shiny foil slip cover like with WM27.
