REVEALED: WWE WrestleMania 34 DVD To Include RAW After ‘Mania, Kickoff Show & Blu-Ray Extras!

April 13, 2018 by Daniel Bee

WWE WrestleMania 34 DVD & Blu-ray - Extras Revealed!

WrestlingDVDNetwork.com can confirm today that the WrestleMania 34 DVD will NOT include the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony due to the long runtimes of both shows (WrestleMania clocking in at 5 hours, Hall of Fame not far off the same) — but we’re pleased to announce a helluva substitute: RAW After ‘Mania!

This year’s WrestleMania DVD, once again a 3-disc DVD set, will present not only the entire WrestleMania 34 event but also the full Monday Night RAW episode that followed it which featured the returns of Bobby Lashley, Samoa Joe and Jeff Hardy, the retirement of Paige, the debuts of No Way Jose and The Authors of Pain, another hard-hitting Ronda Rousey/Stephanie McMahon moment, and some great in-ring action like Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens.

Oh, and not forgetting the moment Nicholas relinquished his RAW Tag Team Championship! 😉

The WrestleMania 34 DVD will also pack in all three of the Kickoff Show matches in its extras (missing from the domestic Home Video release last year) while the Blu-ray edition will contain all of that and some additional segments from the SmackDown Live after ‘Mania!

The final cover artwork is still to be unveiled, but here is all of the content that has made the cut…

@Daniel Bee, any new news on the Best Buy exclusives for the Mania set

  2. Daniel says:

    I want TakeOver 🙁

  3. BIN says:

I don’t mind either way but why don’t they start putting the NXT Takeover event instead of the Hall of Fame or the Raw After Wrestlemania. Maybe they don’t want that to overshadow Wrestlemania ?!? Hope they do one day

    • whut says:

I mean, afaik the WWE never put any NXT stuff on “regular” releases, they pretty much treat it like it was an actual seperate wrestling promotion.

  4. Brandon Vendetta says:

I am a fan of the HOF ceremony every year like alot of you but let’s face it other than Goldberg the rest of the inductees were pretty bad this year. I mean come on Hillbilly Jim is now in the HOF but Davey Boy Smith is not and there’s many more well deserving people who have yet to be inducted too. I really can’t believe how many of you are pissed off about this. The fact that some of you would rather have a very sub par Hall of Fame ceremony instead of a whole episode of Raw with new matches blows my mind. I know everybody is entitled to their own opinion but in my eyes more matches is better than the HOF. They even threw in the pre show matches again and still that isn’t good enough for some of you. It’s ridiculous. Quit your moaning and be happy you are getting more matches for cryin out loud.

    • RabidHeat says:

The Dudleyz were a “bad” inductee? In terms of the longevity of their career, quality of their matches and their legacy I think they’re above Goldberg! The only reason they weren’t the main inductee was because they’e a tag team whereas he was (briefly) the face of a company and a singles star.

      • foley is good says:

        Yeah the Dudleys are awesome.

      • SRB says:

The whole “quit your moaning” phrase is really dumb and it’s like it gets copied and pasted here multiple times a week. Believe it not, people are on a wrestling media website, and of all of the places on the Internet to voice happiness or displeasure with WWE’s decision-making, this is the place to do it. Therefore, you will hear complaints as well as praise. For each article that comes, I have noticed people are mostly 50/50. My point is, what is this comments section designed to do if not to voice an opinion? Telling people to quit moaning won’t make people quit moaning. This comment section is designed to create conversation, which it is succeeding at.

        • Brandon Vendetta says:

I get that this site is all designed so all of us can complain but it still blows my mind that some of you would rather have the HOF instead of more matches. You people complain constantly about wanting more matches and when they give you more matches you still aren’t satisfied. In case some of you haven’t figured this out already WWE is never and I mean Never going to make all of you happy. Myself included. I am just trying to make the point that getting more matches is a good thing but to some of you it’s not. Have it your way then. Just get used to WWE dissapointing you. No matter what any of us say or complain about it’s not going to change.

          • RabidHeat says:

Brandon … calm down, little boy. It’s only a wrestling DVD, for God’s sake.

Wait ’til you grow up and have real problems, like mortgage payments and bills. We’ll see how much other people’s opinions on DVDs bother you then!

            • Brandon Vendetta says:

Well just like clockwork the “Rabid Prick”returns. I’m 37 for the record so I got mortgage and bills just like you moron and don’t act like peoples opinions don’t piss you off either so you calm down little boy. There is no bigger jerk than you on this site that constantly berates people with your snarky smart ass comments regarding people’s opinions. You Rabid Prick are no one to talk. Re read your comments over the last few months and realize you are part of the problem.

              • Vintage Simon says:

Brandon, it’s worth bearing in mind that fans of different ages will have different views on this. Having grown up in the Attitude Era myself, for instance, getting to hear induction speeches from Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz and Mark Henry etc. is a lot more appealing than say, a largely inconsequential match between Sasha Banks and Mandy Rose on Raw.

Different fans will have different opinions on the HOF being replaced, but you can’t speak for everyone when you say ‘more matches makes for a better release’. It’s not quite as simple as that I’m afraid.

              • RabidHeat says:

                Sunday 15th February 2018

                Dear Mr Vendetta,

                Re: your previous comment

You’re entitled to your opinion of me course, but I must ask that you please mind your language.

                Kind regards,

                Rabid Pr*ck

                🙂

          • whut says:

“You people complain constantly about wanting more matches and when they give you more matches you still aren’t satisfied.”

Sorry, but these kind of generalizations are stupid.

Couldn’t it be that the people complaining about wanting more matches mostly ARE NOT the ones complaining about the HOF missing now?

      • Brandon Vendetta says:

I stand corrected I forgot about the Dudleyz. OK other than the Dudleyz and Goldberg pardon me. My mistake.

    • SAB says:

I agree with your comments Brandon. Especially Davey Boy being due an induction.

      • Anan says:

It seems that at least sometimes if not always, WWE’s HOF is “themed” in a sense when it comes to who goes in when. An example of what I mean by that: I understand Goldberg had a problem with WWE regarding his 1st run. Had that problem not been there or had it been cleared up in/by 2011, I’d venture to guess he’d have gone into the HOF that year since WM/HOF was held in 2011 in “WCW Country”, Atlanta, Georgia which is where he also happens to be from. Or had Sting not been in TNA in 2011, he’d have gone in too that year since he was pretty much WCW.

Now with WM taking place in NY/NJ next year & in London, England the following year believe it or not, there’s talk & considering how they operate it only makes sense that one inductee next year is Bam Bam Bigelow as he’s from NJ. He’s been requested for the HOF for a good amount of years now. As for 2020, that is where I believe DaveyBoy Smith will finally be inducted as it’s only fitting. As for who’ll induct them, idk who’ll induct Bigelow. But to me, makes sense for Bret Hart to induct DaveyBoy bc of their match in Wembley Stadium at SSlam 92, a classic IC Championship match that closed that event meaning it went after the WWF Title match which in those days were as ultra rare as Taker breaking character (before recently) if not more. And I think Bulldog will go in separately bc of Dynamite Kid’s problems with the company.

(Just some) other names that should and/or will go in at some point imho: Taker, Kane, McMahon Family, Rock, Chyna, Demolition, Yokozuna (don’t believe he’s in yet), Big Show (don’t think he’s in either yet), Jericho, Cena, Goldust. I know some of
these are obvious while others are also requested by fans (Chyna, Demolition.) Also realize some of these names are still active in/out of wrestling (Rock, Cena, Kane, etc.)

    • Brad Attitude says:

There’s nothing wrong with having more matches but WrestleMania already have us so many this year. I don’t see what’s so impressive about matches from RAW these days. They aren’t memorable to look back on 3-5 years from now.

WWE releases the HOF each year. If they can release a 5 hr WrestleMania show on dvd and bluray, I don’t see why they can’t for the HOF which ran approx 5hrs as well.

      • Anan says:

They may still release the HOF except this year bc of how long it was it’ll be its own set if they release it like the 2004 HOF was it’s own set when it was released if I’m not mistaken. I have no problem with that. I believe if the HOF is gonna be released that it should always be its own set. That way:
        1. Allows (more) extras to be part of the WM set.
        2. The HOF being its own released set allows it to come off imho as more important instead of an extra that’s just a part of the WM set.
        3. Being its own set allows them to potentially include extras for the HOF set like before and after backstage stuff, some important matches from their long careers and with WWE’s gigantic extensive library, that alone covers a TON of ground.

However unlike 2004 now that they have the Network & want as many subscribers as they can get to reach or go beyond their number of subscribers goal, I guess they feel anyone can subscribe to it & see all the HOFs and whatever else they want as many times they want to. While reaching their goal is great, exceeding it will only be better for them business wise.

        • Brandon Vendetta says:

I agree that the HOF should have it’s own set with matches from the inductees but it’s been 14 years since WWE did that and because of the point you mentioned about the network it doesn’t look like it will ever happen again.

          • Anan Khalique says:

True. Very, very true. But u know what, after thinking about it, yes The Network will be a factor (probably) but on the other hand, it doesn’t seem to me like they’re using The Network to its fullest potential at least not right now.
If they REALLY wanted to, they could’ve put every unreleased match they have in an “Unreleased” section of the Network instead of releasing separate unreleased sets. Instead of match compilations like Kane, Legacy of Stone Cold, Undertaker’s Tombstone, Deadliest Matches, The Streak and Best of Sting sets, they could have just had a whole Network section for Sting, The Streak, Stone Cold, etc and keep adding to it when they see fit to.

Considering dvds are still being released despite the Network, they realize not everyone has or will have The Network for whatever reason and that enough people still prefer sets to the point where they make and release them. With that said there’s still a hopeful possibility of a HOF set, just not as big of a possibility before the Network existed like in 2004 which is when and so far the only time it got its own set.

    • Ricardo Aguilera says:

      Amen I agree with you

  5. Josh says:

Wow! The Raw After Mania replacing the HOF! This is amazing! Hope they do it every year!

  6. Foley is good says:

While I can understand some people being upset I personally am not. Pretty awesome replacement with Raw After Mania. Hopefully HOF wil be released on its own with matches for people who are interested.

    • whut says:

unfortunately, don’t hold your breath for that.

I mean, there is a reason the scrapped that to begin with (remember that in 2004 there was a seperate Hall of Fame dvd release).

  7. BAS says:

The Hall of Fame should at least get its own individual release

  8. Richard W says:

Just off recollection here, wasn’t the first WWE HOF that was televised in 2004 the last time it came out on its own as a DVD release?

    • whut says:

yes. and afair, it had disappointing sales. which promoted the inclusion as part of Mania the following year.

  9. Andemoine winrow says:

So glad their adding the ‘Raw’ after ‘WRESTLEMANIA’ show. That was pretty good. For some reason they’re only adding on the blu-ray d.v.d 2 segments from ‘Smackdown’ which is paige being the new general manager and carmella FINALLY cashing in her ‘MONEY IN THE BANK’ briefcase and becoming the champ. They should’ve recorded the whole show like they did ‘RAW’. Also glad their adding the ‘PRE-SHOW’ matches. Those were good especially the First ever ‘WRESTLEMANIA WOMEN’S BATTLE ROYAL’. As far as the ‘HALL OF FAME’? EHHH ! WASN’T so good. Glad their cutting that off which is a first.

    • foley is good says:

I was surprised I enjoyed the battle royals which usually I am not a huge fan of. Teaming Wyatt and Hardy and the NXT ladies uniting to try to win were nice moments.

  10. Erik says:

I’m absolutely furious at WWE’s decision to not include the WWE Hall of Fame: Class of 2018 induction ceremony on the DVD and Blu-Ray sets of WrestleMania 34.

WWE had better release this year’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony in its absolute entirety on a stand-alone DVD or Blu-Ray release.

I’m not a subscriber of the WWE Network and I won’t ever be a subscriber of the WWE Network.

I’m a truly avid WWE DVD and Blu-Ray collector and it makes me absolutely furious to now realize that there seems to be a very good chance that this year’s WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony might never get released on DVD or Blu-Ray here in the United States.

Shame on WWE for this truly disgraceful decision.

    • RabidHeat says:

“Furious” and “disgraceful” are words I might use when discussing many awful things going on the world today, but not when discussing my collection of DVDs for a choreographed sport.

      Perspective?

  11. SRB says:

I’m sorry, but the Raw after WM is a sad substitute for the HOF. There’s no reason why the HOF can’t be it’s own set with matches from each inductee to round out the set. If the HOF was already 5 hours, it would be easy to fill the discs with another 4 hours of matches.

The HOF itself felt a bit long this year. Maybe WWE should consider trimming it in some areas in the future. The celebrity ring and Warrior award are nice, but they seem to distract from the original intent of the evening. Five inductees per year seems like more than enough. This year just felt way overloaded.

  12. RCS1988 says:

They should just do a HOF DVD separate from the Mania DVD, with matches or footage that involves the inductees.

  13. LP1 says:

Glad to see the pre-show matches included again. Also the wrestlers get bonuses for being on the home video releases for PPVs, and Mania is the best selling release of the year, so that’s a nice chunk of change that I’m sure every wrestler on the pre-show is happy about. WWE made the right call on this one. As for the Hall Of Fame, maybe they’ll release it seperately this year like they did in 2004.

  14. RabidHeat says:

I applaud this decision, personally. Obviously it would be great to have everything, but with only three discs I see much more value in having the Raw After Mania and the Kickoff Matches locked in. It’s just unfortunate that whatever they do, they can’t please everybody. I do hope the Hall of Fame is released separately for those that are desperate to have it though.

    • RabidHeat says:

I think it’s also timely since the previous years’ Raws after Mania up to 2016 were nicely summarised on the ‘WrestleMania Monday’ set, so it’s nice that from now on we can hopefully get the shows in full released every year.

  15. Robert emons says:

So is us not getting NXT Takeover?

  16. Martin Duggan says:

I hope the WWE HOF gets its own release, i enjoy the hall of fame ceremony and stories, not cool WWE!!!!

  17. ALK says:

That really sucks. My partner in crime’s grandmother’s brother was the great El Santo and I was looking forward to having that HOF in my collection (Okay it was just the Legacy selections, but still El Santo!).

It better see a stand alone release.

  18. justin f says:

BOOOOO!!!! We need to protest this decision.

    • LP1 says:

I’m pretty sure the 52 wrestlers who worked on the pre-show this year will disagree with you.

      • Justin F says:

I love the Hall of Fame and watched it every year. Maybe if WWE didn’t increase Wrestlemania to a 5 hour or whatever-it is long event, we wouldn’t have this problem.

  19. Paul says:

Really disappointed the HoF has been dropped. Regardless of the length I always thoroughly enjoy the show. Getting the Raw after Mania is a nice substitute and if that’s the way forward for Wrestlemania releases then I’d be happy with that.

I just hope the HoF gets its own release possibly with one or two extra matches for each inductee

  20. Tommy D says:

Glad the HOF got cut. not that I don’t like it, but I’d much rather have more matches and more full shows (like Raw after Mania).

  21. TheDVDFreak says:

Hopefully they add Taker to the cover. Sucks the Hof is getting cut but the raw after mania is a good substitute. I was there in person so I’m really excited to get this on dvd.

    • RabidHeat says:

I can’t imagine Sasha and Becky will stay on the cover when they were only in the Battle Royal and didn’t even win that. Even Naomi and Jinder should probably be taken off in the final version, despite their wins. I hope they re-jig the faces on there so people are stood next to their opponents, and maybe just highlight whatever they consider to be the top 4 matches.

  22. Timothy J Thorpe says:

I didn’t think the HOF would get cut. I did not see that coming.

  23. Andy Garland says:

that is disappointing the hall of fame os not included
