WWE WrestleMania 1-15 DVD Re-Releases

New information from the Australian WWE DVD distributor suggests that the new WrestleMania 1-15 DVD re-releases (those that hit Walmart in the US this month) are scheduled to be released to that region in May.

We’ve not heard any update regarding a UK release but this gives some hope for that.

Speaking of Australia, fans there who pre-order WrestleMania 29 on DVD or Blu-ray at WWEDVD.com.au are in the running for a “golden ticket” prize. Full details below.

Jake Ziegler got in touch to tell to us he spotted what appears to be a new issue of WrestleMania 23 on DVD at Walmart in the US, which on a quick glance looked to him to be a single or double disc version, but in any case definitely not the three disc release of 2007. Earlier, Cesar Albino reported to us a sighting of a WrestleMania 25 DVD in a generic DVD case, also at Walmart, but stated this to be three discs.

It could simply mean there are re-releases of those two particular events in basic new packaging, and reported yesterday, the two new Amazon listings for them were recently flagged “unavailable” and pre-orders cancelled, which could be to keep them as Walmart exclusives. All up in the air right now and a little odd that only those two later WrestleMania events would be re-released, but do keep a look out.

Something i noticed on the original WM15 DVD from 1999, i finally had a chance to watch it the other day and noticed after the HIAC promo it cuts to Taker’s entrance. I remember when i watched it on PPV they had the cell lowering with music and Bossman’s entrance. They seemed to have cut that on the DVD/VHS release.

Strange thing is its not edited on the Anthology version and everything is intact.

Any reason they cut that from the original print?

How many WarGames matches were filmed? On Wikipedia it says there were 27, then has citations for ones that were on house shows. However, one of the house show ones was on the Four Horsemen DVD. So which is it? Was that from a camera a fan brought or was that filmed after all?

One match I’d like to see on the War Games dvd is the 1995 match, Dungeon Of Doom vs. The Hulkamaniacs! But for some reason I doubt it’ll be included.

I liked the review of Bret Hart dvd, in my opinion one of the best dvd’s in years.

  6. EG says:

Could the title WCW’s Most Dangerous Matches imply there will be matches other than the War Games match? I’m intrigued now.

Would of thought a golden ticket would be to Wrestlemania 30, but oh well…
