The cancellation of WWE DVDs and Blu-rays globally as of 2024 has meant the former distributors of WWE physical media have had close to 6 months to sell off their stock as we now approach the end of June.
As we understand the situation, for the distributors it’s a case of sell the stock off, onto another party, within an agreed period, after which they would need to pay for any remaining units to be destroyed.
This and the cancellation of WWE Home Video in general has meant there has been big price reductions on WWE DVD and Blu-ray titles this year, particularly observed in the UK market. Now, there’s been even more markdowns since prices started to be slashed back in March.
There’s also a recent sign that some of the WWE DVD stock has been sold off in the United States, resulting in lower prices available in this market.

In the US, marked down WWE DVDs are now being found at Big Lots stores. This suggests some or all WWE DVD stock has been sold to the discount retail chain.
There’s a big catalog of titles available and the prices look to range from $4.99 to $8.99. Just some of the titles up for grabs here can be seen in the video and pics we’ve featured below.
Big Lots were at one point running a 20% off sale in store which brought down these prices further, so look out for similar promotions potentially running soon.
The WWE DVDs found on sale at Big Lots seem to be relatively recent titles, likely those that were still in print with Warner Bros. until the end of 2023 when all new releases ceased.
It does appear to be DVD format only — no Blu-rays that we’ve seen — but remember it has actually only been WrestleMania available on Blu-ray for several years now in the US. And speaking of WrestleMania, as you can see the ‘Mania 36 through 39 DVDs are definitely included here.

In the UK, we’re seeing some of the best-ever deals on WWE DVDs through Amazon and HMV as the two retailers continue to drop their prices and do price matching.
Update – Monday June 17, 2024: HMV stores have lowered prices of WWE DVDs today to as little as 99p each! The sale looks to cover their entire remaining stock of wrestling DVDs and Blu-rays with most prices no more than £1.99 each. The discounts are/were also available online on HMV’s website, however stock has been depleting quickly.

Observing Amazon in recent days there’s couple of titles down to £1.99 but for the most part the deals now look to start at £2.99 each — some examples in the screenshots below.

WrestleManias on Blu-ray typically look to be around £4.99 each, though some are selling out — by the way, this appears to be a trend; Blu-ray editions of various WWE titles not sticking around for long, and this will be because they were originally produced in much less quantities than the DVDs.

According to WWE Home Video Tribute on socials the price reductions and spotlight on WWE DVDs and Blu-rays of late has reportedly led to a lot of chart success in the UK, with WWE dominating the Top 50 Sports titles.
Interestingly, the weekly top 5 at the time of their post included several titles with a UK flare to them; Money in the Bank 2023 (last summer’s PLE in London), Clash at the Castle 2022 (the first one in Cardiff as Glasgow just got the second), and “SummerSlam ’92 – 30th Anniversary Edition” (the iconic show from Wembley Stadium).
Also in there was WrestleMania 39, perhaps unsurprisingly as the final ‘Mania to release on Home Video, and “Undertaker: The Complete WrestleMania Collection”, showing ‘Taker remains ever-popular on DVD.
With WWE DVD & Blu-ray prices still dropping, last week 47 of the Top 50 Sports titles on the UK Charts were WWE titles! Unprecedented!

I discovered this site back in 2010 and I still from time to time pop back in to assist me in helping with my collection. Just wanted to say thanks as a long time user and appreciate you keeping it up. I doubt I would have the collection I do now if not for you and your site.
On a positive note, the WWE Vault YouTube page is airing unreleased matches.
Got myself a haul of WWE DVDs from Big Lots, quite a few I passed on because the sets just didn’t interest me then for various reasons. But I’ve recently decided I wanted to collect all the US releases because I figured why not, since I already have all the blu-rays and I’m trying to go for all the PPVs as well. Plus, it’s history and would be easy to do now that we’re not getting any more, so it’s not like we’ll have things to keep up with.

– Shield: Justice For All (not a bad release, but Roman’s disc is underwhelming)
– 30 Years of SummerSlam (pointless due to the anthology)
– Best PPV Matches 2018 (pointless if you own all the PPVs, but worth it for those who don’t buy them all. Would especially be worth it if we kept getting them on blu-ray since not every PPV got blu-ray treatment)
– John Cena: Hustle, Loyalty, Respect (didn’t care for him then, but have a new found respect for him in recent years)
– Miz: A-List Superstar(didn’t care for him then and didn’t feel a set for him made sense, but he’s someone I respect now too)
– Best Main Events of the Decade(concept was to be expected, nothing but repeats and rehashes, but one that still could’ve been better if it was given the 3-4 disc treatment, as it’s kind of a sequel to Best of 2000’s)
– Best of Drew McIntyre(could’ve been good if it was 2 discs and had a better cutoff match than the Goldberg match, maybe his 2nd title win over Orton instead.)
Besides the point, but I do have a few UK releases for the sake of completing collections and filling gaps, or if it was just something I really wanted or novelty purposes. Still have a few to go there, but won’t be hard to do since I don’t want all UK sets anyway. Only ones I want all of are the Tagged Classics but that’ll be challenging since those are pricey these days and my wallet don’t like the looks of that. XD
Been to several HMV’s round my local area, I’ve picked up quite a few dvds I needed for the collection. Massive same about this, hopefully a retailer such as CEX, world of books or even a high street shop buy up any left over stock.
