    • Ceri evans says:

Yeah mate I’m gutted they left out Chris Benoit matches those two were perfectly matched and could really put on a good show I really hope like yourself we get another DVD with all the above content on kurt was and is one of the greatest performers the wwe has ever seen. Come on wwe listen to your fan base please I’ve actually every wwe DVD produced including from iyh 1 onwards only missing a couple I’ve spent 1000 of hours enjoying the performances and stars. Greatest entertainment on the planet period IMO .

      • Blue Wolf Stephens says:

Nice reply. I hope they put more matches on there too. Plus the funny takes when they are on the microphone talking trash! Thanks for the words and big props on your WWE collection/ WWF

  5. Mongoose says:

Just thought of something maybe they’re saving the Undertaker match for an Undertaker DVD/Blue Ray?

  6. John says:

Like others had said, I am surprised that his 2006 match against Undertaker is not on it but it is not a big deal anyway since I have the Best of 2000’s DVD but another match I am surprised is not on there is Kurt against Brock 30 minutes Iron Man match but it is not a big deal since I have Brock Lesnar Blu-Ray, there is way too many repeats and few unreleased matches, I think I will wait until it goes under $10 and get it

  7. whutwhut says:

I also can’t stress enough about how positive it is that this dvd finally is another one that has almost 9 hours of runtime.

(‘member when more than 8 hours runtime was usual for WWE releases? I ‘member)

  8. ILoveRepeats says:

Step 1: Website posts match listing
Step 2: “Smart” fans complain about 1 or all of the following:
    A) Too many repeats!
    B) Why is this not on Blu-Ray!?!
    C) How is there no Benoit!?!
Step 3: “Smart” complaining fans buy the DVD anyway
    Step 4: Repeat Steps 1 – 3

    • whutwhut says:

step 3 seems a big assumption on your part. what would you base that on beside a stereotype?

    • NaturalDisaster says:

      Well said my friend

    • Ceri evans says:

Please can we have another kurt angle with Chris Benoit also included also kurt was a funny guy some extra content with some comic skits would be greatly appreciated

  9. Shaun Blackford says:

Great list, Shane we could never get his Benoit stuff , also surprised no way out 06 ain’t on the list . Still great near perfect

    • whutwhut says:

yes, that seems to be the only glaring omission.

I think otherwise everything else that NEEDS to be on there, is on there.

  10. Mike says:

Can anyone list the repeat. Matches and what set they were released on

      • Dwayne Jetson says:

The Vengeance 2002 Match Angle vs Rock vs Taker is also on one of the Rock’s DVD compilation sets.

  11. Donald says:

Good list! There’s a few matches I don’t have that’s on here. I’ll be waiting for a price drop; I may pick it up for Christmas, idk yet.

  12. AD Degreez says:

Hello, this is completely unrelated but I have a question if someone can help me out. I can’t remember what DVDs the wcw uncensored tower of doom match is on for some reason I thought it was on the Ric flair ultimate collection but it’s not

  13. David_Madden says:

Great list but I understand why its not on there but the lack of the Royal Rumble ’03 match with Benoit is unfortunate. A true classic.

  14. Anan says:

Besides the already mentioned matches that were left out that I hope makes it onto an Angle documentary, this set looks good. Tbh though, with his return & HOF induction, this was a great time for a documentary.

    • Brett Linforth says:

I wouldn’t rule out WWE producing a bio DVD/Blu-Ray set on Kurt in the near future. They did it with Sting, after all 🙂

  15. Timothy Thorpe says:

I already have this set pre-ordered. I love the match selections. As far as all the other matches that should be on here, I already have them on other sets.

    • whutwhut says:

imo there’s really only one great match that includes Angle and Benoit that hasn’t already been released, the 2/3 falls tag match from 2002 (and if someone wants to see that so badly, that person could subscribe to the Network to see it).

  16. SCSA says:

I really like the listing! I’d like to watch/re-watch up to 11-12 matches on this list… though unfortunately I’m one of those complainers about no blu-ray☹️

    • LP1 says:

Nothing unfortunate about that at all. Wanting to live in the present instead of the past is nothing to be ashamed of.

      • Damien Drake says:

This has nothing to do with living in the past or present. It’s well known wrestling dvds just sell well compared wrestling blurays. And not all fans give a sh*t about wrestling being in HD format. The latter isn’t all that important as you make it out to be but all in fairness, a Kurt Angle bluray or even just a extra disc on dvd would’ve been nice as the man had many amazing matches that 3 discs wasn’t enough.

        • SCSA says:

I agree. I guess I’m just used to buying blu-rays due to the easiness of controling the play mode (being able to flick through the menu whilst watching a match/interview/promo, etc), the extra matches we usually get (up to around 4 & lots of extras like on the ‘Owen Hart of Gold’ Blu-Ray) & of course the quality of high definition.

I’m just glad that I already have some other great matches of Kurt Angle on blu-ray through the Stone Cold/Mr Wrestlemania/KOTR blu-rays & a few others including ‘RAW 100’

        • LP1 says:

Not getting into the DVD/BD debate again. My comment was more referring to SCSA saying it’s unfortunate to be someone who wants blu-ray over DVD. There seems to be this new trend going around these comment sections lately that people who prefer blu-ray over DVD are just complaining for the sake of complaining and that’s not what it is at all. I don’t think SCSA, or anyone else, should feel bad for wanting something they can’t get, just because a few people on here brow beat them for it.

  17. Brad Attitude says:

Decent match listing with a few omissions. Would’ve liked to have seen another one or two WrestleMania matches however.

  18. Steven Jackson says:

Looks a good set. Some omissions but this will probably be filled out by another Kurt Angle home video set in the future.
I will probably buy this when it is a bit cheaper. Worth watching though 🙂

  19. Indyfan says:

How have WWE not included Summerslam 2001 yet. Its beyond me. Its basically un released still. Set looks mediocre. Its simply for casual collectors. In other words…Pass!!!

    • Roland Smitts says:

Not the same thing but years ago, the old 24/7 service spotlighted Steve Austin in the HoF section. What was one of the bonus matches but…SummerSlam 2001.

      • Indyfan says:

I meant unreleased on a dvd/bluray set. I know we can just buy Summerslam 2001 or the anthology. My wording was wrong. Un released as far as comps/doc. Sets go.

  20. LP1 says:

There’s a few World Title wins missing, but any matches that are missing from this set will almost surely be included on an Angle documentary release.

  21. RabidHeat says:

To be fair I suppose they need to keep the odd big draw here and there match-wise for the inevitable documentary set that will come the following year, like Sting’s.

  22. whutwhut says:

aside the already mentioned Taker/Angle match, I feel there really isn’t anything missing here.

a minor nitpick would be that with a runtime that long, they could have thrown two or three more “rarities” on there (but then again, it’s his supposed “essentials”, so it also makes sense).

  23. Justin F says:

And they don’t even include Undertaker vs Angle from No Way Out 2006 which is one of the best matches Angle ever fought in.

    • I.P. Freely says:

To be fair, this was recently released on the Best of 2000s DVD but I agree with you. Shame to see one of his best matches ever missed off a ‘Best of’ collection

    • Luis says:

I found It baffling too. Hopefully they´ll inculde the match in another compilation.

  24. RabidHeat says:

It’s as good a match listing as possible considering they can’t include Benoit matches. Th only minor alteration I would have made would be to have Mania ’20 Eddie vs. Angle rather than Summerslam ’04, but I realise they probably went with the latter because Angle won. It’s a shame they do that sometimes though, as I think the quality of the match is sometimes more important than who wins.

    • RabidHeat says:

Actually, on second thoughts, I am shocked that Angle/Taker from No Mercy ’06 isn’t on here. Great match and a significant opponent.

    • Guest says:

I need to reply here, they COULD include Benoit matches if they wanted to. In all honesty they should. Those matches are better than a lot of the ones they’ll ever actually put into his releases. Sucks that they try to avoid acknowledging the great matches. Don’t have to promote them, just include them.

  25. Justin F says:

    So no documentary?

  26. yeahitsme says:

Boo! No vs Booker 7/24/01, vs Kane 11/1/01, WM19 vs Lesnar, Battle royal for vacant WHC in early 2006 — how do you mess this up? 8:44 of content, only 7 years to choose from, no Benoit and all of that missing?

    • Jeff Copeland says:

its 2017 people need to face facts we are NOT GONNA GET BENOIT ON A DVD!!! if its not part of a mulitman match. like chamber ladder tlc that is the ONLY WAY!!!

  27. RCS1988 says:

No Kurt Angle vs. Owen Hart a disappointment. I hope WWE Unreleased 1986-1995 is not a disappointment.

  28. john peterson says:

Looks decent.Hope Kurt gets a doc within the next couple of years.hes long due for one.

    • Jeff Copeland says:

only bio wwf did was his 2000 its true its true vhs WHICH I GOT xD!!!

which he’s doing a commercial for smackdown 2 game ? and talks about his full year from surivor seires 99 to his wwf title win at no mercy 2000

  29. Ricardo Aguilera says:

It’s alright even though some matches didn’t made the list but it should have like taker vs undertaker no way out 2006 or no way out 2002 vs hhh or raw 2002 vs Kane just because it was awesome watching Kane touble chokeslaming angle and the referee Charles robertson at the same time and vs Rey mysterio smackdown 2005 in Tokyo Japan tournament finals cus in my opinion that’s the best match between them two check it out on the network I might get it so happy that he’s back home

  30. Jeff Copeland says:

humm.. well… it’s not bad. no angle vs austin from summerslam 01? maybe cause of the blood ??

or 6 man armageddon cell again maybe cause of blood.

hua…… sorta shocked not angle vs show vs lesnar angles last wwe title well wwe championship

no angle vs taker from 06 which is a instant classic or even i guess the battle royal he won the world title on smackdown in 06 or god forbid vs henry from the rumble.

thoughts….. its good for what it is. i hope we get a angle bio one day with more matches.

as far as benoit being on here …. SERIOUSLY!!! your asking for benoit on a dvd in 2017? >_> <__<

i would get this for angle vs taker 00, angle vs edge 2002 cage, angle vs rock 00, angle rvd 06, angle val why not, and the ironman match vs hbk.

one last thing as far as alot of the repeats…. well… your gonna get repeats i don't understand why people complain about that still in 2017

    • yeahitsme says:

The Edge cage match was on Bloodbath Steel Cage Matches so it probably has a lot of blood too. They probably just choose not to show that one.

  31. Eric says:

I wish there were more against the Undertaker.

    • Jeff Copeland says:

they only had handful of matches. fully loaded 2000 , survivor series 2000 for wwf title. 2001 raw i think for us title angle was ys champion but thats on the best of us title dvd 2002 episode of smackdown for undisputed title where OMG TAKER TAPPED!!!

a rare gem 2003 episode of smackdown vs angle for wwe title i think week or 2 after summerslam 03.

and there 2 2006 matches for world title no way out vs angle and then that following smackdown in a rematch where henry interfered

  32. Mongoose says:

Yes almost all of these matches have been released. But I’m happy we finally have a Kurt Angle WWE DVD out there to go in my collection. I know a lot of people say this set just isn’t complete because there is no Chris Benoit matches. Or they say his best matches were with Benoit. Yea I did enjoy watching them two fight. But I have most of there matches on other DVD’s and for what its worth that s collection of Angle matches is pretty good for what we got. So with that being said, I can’t wait to get my hands on this set.

  33. Mark Markson says:

A bit surprised the match vs Undertaker from No Way Out 2006 is not included.

  34. Dave says:

Shame it doesn’t include any Benoit matches but hey.. Some good matches on this imo.

  35. Tommy D says:

I know people will bitch that I say this, but I don’t care, because I’m a completist. Only 3 unreleased matches is rough. As a Best of collection, they really did cover most of the important matches, but almost all of the matches are from PPVs that have been released.

I’ll hold off on this until I can get it for under $5 on Amazon.

    • ILoveRepeats says:

Please let us know when you make your $5 Amazon order; I won’t sleep a wink until I know you got it!

    • yeahitsme says:

My biggest worry was that this would be too similar to Best of the 2000’s. For the most part my fears were realized but we did get a few unreleased matches. Especially from 2000 we got a few and that year rarely gets focused on for whatever reason.

    • Foley Is Good says:

It is only $16.00 on Amazon right now according to the link in the article.

    • brandon vendetta says:

@Tommy D I agree with you 100 percent and unlike some of the other people who post comments on here I’m not gonna bitch at you for your comment. What alot of people don’t get is that a large number of people who post on here are collectors (myself included) and we’re sick of paying for the same matches over and over again. And no I don’t need anybody to explain to me again that it’s a “essential matches collection” I get the concept so I understand all the repeats because they’re essential to this “essential” set but its still frustrating to collectors like myself that its full of matches we already have. I myself don’t know if I’m going to pick this up cause I already own most of it and like I just said paying for the same matches over and over again gets old and if anybody is going to bitch about that comment oh well they obviously don’t get the point so to hell with them.
