OH, HELL YEAH: we’re exactly 1 week away from the “1997 – Dawn of the Attitude” DVD!
Before the anticipated, Attitude-filled Home Video releases to the United States and the United Kingdom next week, and even before an official “First Look” hits the WWE Network this Thursday, WrestlingDVDNetwork.com is about to stun you with an exclusive sneak peek.
In the first clip of “1997 – Dawn of the Attitude”, The Big Red Machine talks about his WWE debut at In Your House: Badd Blood in October of 1997 and the honor (and nervousness) he felt working with Undertaker and Shawn Michaels as part of what he feels was some “epic” storytelling.
That’s gotta be Kane! And for the main portion of WWE’s 1997-themed DVD he’ll be joined by Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, The Godfather, Ron Simmons and host Renee Young for a roundtable feature on the year that pushed the envelope and sparked the Attitude Era.
In the 1-hour roundtable those legends will discuss such topic as: the rise of Stone Cold, the Bret Hart/Austin double turn, RAW becoming RAW is WAR, wrestling being secondary to the over-the-top characters, the Montreal Screwjob, the contributions of the Divas, Chyna’s role in D-Generation X, The Rock, Triple H and Mick Foley all hitting their stride, and loads more in between.
Special features on top of the roundtable will include more than 6 hours of the biggest matches and moments (26 of them to be exact) witnessed in WWE between January and December that year.
All of that footage will be making it to Blu-ray too! For the record this will be the first WWE Blu-ray since “The Kevin Owens Story” in July, an opportunity to show your support for the format.

A “PHENOMENAL” DOCUMENTARY…
The new WWE-produced AJ Styles DVD, slated to be titled “The Phenomenal AJ Styles” and covering AJ’s first two years with the company, has been hinted at several times this year – but last week it was revealed to have now been scheduled as part of WWE’s 2018 line-up.
PWInsider.com are this week referencing the AJ Styles DVD as including a documentary feature!
And if that proves true, it should mean that the release is also coming on Blu-ray format.
Early word we have is that all the DVDs you’ve heard about for 2018 are legit and currently planned, most likely kicking off with the “Best of 2017” retrospectives on RAW/SmackDown, PPVs and NXT, however later titles in the year cannot be fully confirmed just yet and are subject to change.
News on the scheduled DVDs for January, February and March 2018 should be forthcoming. If you missed any of the projects that were just unveiled, check out the lists at the following links:

REVEALED: Shane McMahon & The Hardy Boyz Slated for 2018 WWE DVDs, Plus More UNRELEASED!
Good news that we’re getting an AJ documentary; I was expecting it to be a match compilation and for WWE to hold off for a year or two just in case TNA / GFW / Impact (what they’re called this week) goes belly up and WWE finally acquires some TNA footage, lol.
This Documentary looks real cool with all the aspects noted about it on the Disc1 page, though 58mins kind of sucks! Plus it would have been much better to see Bret Hart or Psycho Sid sitting there rather then The Godfather & Farooq❗️
Plus w/Kane talking about his entry in to the WWF/E, It’s real important to have the Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels match from BadBlood97 (&finally released on a Blu-Ray too)‼️
How long was the documentary again, 58 minutes? And here we have Foley taking up the best part of a minute talking about his daughter’s tweets, followed by Renee Young making hilarious jokes about Corporate Kane owning suits because she doesn’t really have anything to add. Hardcore pass.
The Dawn of the Attitude Era looks like another rehash of the same story we’ve heard of over and over again. I’ll still get the DVD but I am lowering my expectations.
That picture of Sunny right behind HBK lol
I noticed that too! We all know he had plenty of Sunny days in ’97. I guess both he and Bret did…
Already preorder it months ago.
1997 was one of my favorite year in WWF/E History. For the first time of my life, I was at a WWE TV show for the Survivor Series at the Molson Centre (now the Bell Centre) in Montreal. What a night!!!
I can wait at least another few years as I’m sure alot of other people have the same opinion. It’s way to soon for an AJ Styles DVD.
He’s already had more then enough matches to warrant a DVD now. Plus, it’s worth it if his first WWE title win against Ambrose from Backlash is finally released on DVD.
First!
Can’t wait for the Styles documentary!
Twelth!!!
