The survey also lists 11 concepts for match compilation three-disc sets, as follows:
– Greatest Debut Matches
– Iron Man
– Daniel Bryan
– Chris Jericho
– Booker T
– Kurt Angle
– JBL
– Cesaro
– Randy Orton
– The Rock, Ron Simmons, Booker T, JYD, R-Truth, Kofi
– Best of the United States Title Matches
Daniel Bryan, Sting, Kurt Angle, and why not a ‘Best of NXT’ set?
I’m interested in the Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, United States Championship and many others.
A Shane McMahon Ultimate collection Blu-ray set would be nice..
as a stand alone release of Shane.. or it could be, as part of a Absolute Definitive Ultimate “McMahon”-set, with – let’s say – about 3-4 Blu-ray discs, 12-16 hours plus, all matches overtime involved McMahon family members + addition to the McMahon doc from 2006 a updated one with stories and promos from Then to Now.
If we gonna continue having to endure this Reality-tv era, at least let’s have something sleazy, excited and above all interesting action. I rest my case.. 😉
One of the choices I would love to see that isn’t getting much love is The Shield: All Access. It would be pretty cool seeing how a tag team/faction interacts behind the scenes.
“The Shield doesn’t exist anymore.” – Triple H
A Big Van Vader Documentary + bonus discs of matches is something I’d like to see.
Great ideas!
Love to see a One Man Show with Jericho, Austin and Taker. Jericho’s done some already, I think. And of course, the Sting documentary.
i so wanna see a sting DVD/blu ray I don’t care if he ever has a match in wwe I think it’s long overdue since wwe has the wcw NWA library I just don’t want store exculsives like fye or best buy . tna did a good job with sting return of a icon set in 06 without his wcw/NWA background I personally would love to see. a sequel to that when he was there but that never happend
I thought a Sting DVD/BRD was scheduled for a 9/29 release date. Was that not confirmed?
That looks to be the UK date for it, should it go ahead (and it looks like it will).
But that one might not end up having a documentary which could be why a Sting documentary is an option in the above survey. Just a guess.
I agree that most of the suggestions are a little blah. I would like to see more documentaries on old school wrestlers, not just wwe wrestlers. Why can’t we have DVDs on magnum ta, the free birds, rock and roll express, midnight express or as someone else said, anything from Memphis? How about the Von erichs vs. free birds rivalry, 4 horseman vs. dusty/magnum ta/road warriors?
• Reunion Specials
– The KLIQ
• One Man Show
– Stone Cold Steve Austin
Hear the personal tales, life lessons, and never before told road stores in Austin’s own words in this intimate stage show.
• WWE Reveals
– The Owen Hart Story
– “The Curtain Call”
In-depth look at these stories, controversial moments in WWE History in and out of the ring, plus 2 bonus discs of matches.
& Documentaries for;
– Hulk Hogan
– DX
A 90-120 minute documentary on the personal and professional life of these 3 like ESPN’s “30 for 30″), plus 2 bonus discs of matches.
anything MEMPHIS
How do you join the fan council, and there should be a choice where you can type what DVD’s you would like to see made.
Would love to get some of these compilations, particularly JBL. However, a lot of the other suggestions are pretty poor IMO. WWE’s historical bias we ruin a lot of them.
Also, don’t know why anyone wants another Hogan or DX set. Didn’t the other 3 suffice demand?
I’ll take:
– Greatest Debut Matches
– Booker T
– Kurt Angle
– Best of the United States Title Matches
-Sting set with documentary and bonus matches
One Man Show
– Ric Flair
– Chris Jericho
– Stone Cold Steve Austin
Inside the Match- Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock
Nothing else on the list interests me in the slightest.
How is the Andre the Giant long overdue? They made a VHS once upon a time AND a DVD for him! Newbies…ughh….
No, what is LONG OVERDUE is the JYD. Coliseum home video listed a JYD VHS to be made and never made one. He has never had a VHS nor a DVD. He is long overdue.
I just mean a 3 disc dvd is long overdue. Anything to own the cage match he had with Kamala. JYD is good idea, now that they own mid south library we can have lots of good ones there
LONG OVER DUE!! (1) Norman Smiley The Ultimate Collection (2) Greatest Rivalries: Alex Wright vs. Anybody (3) Henry Godwinn & the other guy: Brothers of Destruction II (4) Honky Tonk Man “Good Thing He Don’t Play Piano”: The Greatest Hits (5) Paul Roma & Jim Powers: “We Gotta Eat, Too” (budget disc)
The Kurt Angle, Booker T and Owen Hart Story along with a Best of United States Championship Matches set would be killer 🙂
Alot of great ideas are listed in the survey. A proper documentary on Andre the Giant is long over due. I’ve also been waiting for a Jerry Lawler documentary for YEARS now. KLIQ Reunion could be good, too. Have the 5 members interviewed about their time together in WWE (1993-1996) and misc. matches from all the members. The Hulk Hogan/Roddy Piper set should be Greatest Rivalries Volume 2 though.
The Curtain Call? REALLY?! I can’t imagine someone thought that was a good idea for a DVD.
A Daniel Bryan set is a no-brainer, and I’m surprised they’re even asking about it. He’s the WWE Champion, one of the most popular guys in the promotion, one of the biggest merchandise sellers, and has an almost endless amount of great matches to choose from. Strike while the iron’s hot and let’s have a set before the end of the year.
Other than that, I’d definitely want the Kurt Angle set, and possibly the DX documentary if they have some unreleased matches that can be added to it. Best debuts seems a good concept too. I’m least interested in Iron Man, as all matches except Triple H/Benoit are already available – and I’m not paying £23 for one match (which ended when Eugene interefered!)
The Owen Hart Story would be very interesting to watch.
I’m confused. Under “Inside the Match”, didn’t we already get Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels on the Greatest Rivalries set and The Rock vs. John Cena on the Once in a Lifetime release?
guess, WWE may think there is still money to make from those rivalries stories.. 😉
a shame, that there is no ECW Unreleased vol. 3, Falls count anyway vol. 2 or Attitude Era vol. 2 to pick.
I love to see a compilation of Iron Matches on Bluray, with Bragging Rights ’09 Cena vs. Orton on it. Also on that set would be great to have the Benoit vs. HHH Ironmatch from RAW 2004, but that may only be a dream non-fulfilled.
Jericho and JBL sets would be great too.
…and Angle.. damn, how could I overlook Kurt..he’d make me tap.. lol
Sting, Andre The Giant (long overdue), Owen hart, Lawler vs Kaufman Hogan vs Piper, I thought a Bruno dvd was being made, Love the wyatts but too soon. Bryan YES YES YES
KURT ANGLE YES YES YES!!!! Most overdue wwe set and I wouldn’t mind a Cesaro one either
“The Rock, Ron Simmons, Booker T, JYD, R-Truth, Kofi”
So, basically they’re pitching a compilation of black wrestlers?
Kaufman/Lawler is easily the most exciting potential release on this list. I really wish they would stop claiming they are going to make “30 For 30” like documentaries, though. I don’t think they really understand what the main goals behind “30 For 30” were, and their documentaries really aren’t anything like it. If they want to make that claim, though, I’ll be happy to hold them to that level of scrutiny in my reviews!
This one I agree on The Hardy’s vs. The Dudleys vs. Edge & Christian
The possibilities here are truly amazing and it is likely that we will see some of these next year or even later this year. Everyone will have their picks and for me, I’d like the Hogan documentary with some unreleased matches, a set on Kurt Angle, and I’d like to hear more on the Curtain Call, but I do not see how you could really say much about it. It was covered well in the 50 years set and I think that summed it up. It happened and it’s over. I do not believe we are ready for a set on Cesaro. He has great potential, but is too new and has not done enough yet. Still praying for Rick Rude at some point. An Owen set would also be great. Sting is so-so for me. We’ve seen so many of his matches over the years that part of me feels we’ve gotten a lot already. A documentary would be a different story though.
